Tanitha: You cant change your password, you have two usernames passwords, one for the game, and one for the forums, they can be different.
Emailing wot is the only way to change game account details.

Goto the install directory and run wot.exe which bypasses the launcher/updater.
And play... (hopefully) with never running the installer/launcher/updater..

Remember game and forum user/passwords are not linked..!
You then goto the forums and type in your username2 and password2 email2 and find they dont work.
No because your forum user/passwords are the 1's unchanged.
So you changed your forum password with the forgot password button.
So now you have
Password3. (forum)
Username3. (forum)
emailaddress3. (forum)
Your game password has not changed, its whatever you typed into the form..
You did not email support asking for them to change your game password etc..
So your game atm is password set 2, and your forum is password set 3.
I suggested, since you are confused, and this is taking hours, and emails will end up being many days..
That you just
1. make a NEW email (I gave you the link). 1-2 minutes.
2. Get a new beta key (I gave you the link) and other links and google. 5-10 minutes
3. Make a new gaming account, (1 minute) and Dont tell it you already have a forum account let it make a new one for you with the same email/password/etc
Playing 10 minutes later..
And yes, it would be easier if the forum and game passwords/emails/usernames were the same and linked, but at the moment they are not. This is where you are getting yourself confused.

There was a patch recently, the servers are struggling, downloading isn't fast at the moment.

I wouldn't say the balance is anything to complain about in this game. But it would be nice if they balanced the mouses out, there's no need to put 4 on one side and one on the other.
Tweaks to this balancing are coming, be patient : )

There are two ways of getting a beta key.
1. Type your email address in here.
And wait.. however long it may take. If they want more testers they will reply quickly, if they don't, they wont reply. i believe at the moment they are accepting everyone that applies, and sending keys out in about 4 days.

2. Or get a key of a gaming company who was given 10,000 or whatever keys to give away to people.
You will have to do what they say, like apply here, join our website and join here, or whatever. its up to the website, but they usually issue keys immediately. Some of these have promotional tanks that come with the account. Usually these tanks aren't too good, but they are free, and most of them go over to release, So after release you can sell it for credits to get you started.
Once you have a key.. you make a forum account and a game account here.

you type in your email address, and a user-name.
For logging in to the game, you enter your email address, and your password.
And your user-name will be what you are named in game and in the forums.
You don't log in with your name, but that's what you are called in game.
On that registration form, if you don't click "have a forum account" it will make one for you.
if you already have a forum account which is set to "member" click it and it will convert your "member" forum account to a "beta tester" forum account. "members" who aren't beta testing cant see most of the forums.
I would also guess you might be limited to one account per email address..

Back to getting a key, there is a lot of places giving them out, some will be "sold out" others will still have some.
That link i gave you, players said it worked well, and worked quickly, yesterday, so it should work.

They might or might not have any left.
If you are running into problems it might be because you keep using the same email, which is already used.
Each new account you try to make, needs to be a new user-name and a new email address.
As for your email to support, no i don't know why you think they will give you a new key, you made a account that doesn't work because on confusion with email/user/password, So they will just reset that for you for that account. not issue another key.

So you changed your password etc, as i said originally there is two databases, the forum and the game, if you changed your password etc i guess you just changed it in the forums. Changing the game password/email is different and requires emailing support, and admins/devs will manually do it. I don't really know if you altered your game password/email, or the forum one.
Anyway.. the link/email I gave you is how you get your game email/password fixed.

Because the key you have is already used, so it cant be used again. I suggested just getting another key/account because that's what id do, id want to be in game and playing in 5 minutes time, not sit waiting for support to reply to a email for a week.
They have server issues atm, so id guess they will be flooded with emails atm and sorting your account/password/email out might not be quick.
If they have a buggy registration system, they need to work on it and fix it, I'm just a mod not a admin or dev, so all I can do is suggest how you can fix "your" problem and get into game in 5 mins. They will still have to fix any registration problem the system has..
+ those keys I linked might get you a free tank, the key/account you originally had might not..

Tanitha: Servers have been playing up, So id guess they are flooded quite a bit at the moment.

Tanitha: Excellent, but any lag you get in game today will be because the servers are struggling a bit when the users and game get high.
but in game server lag, is a different issue to your previous loading problems. Since this is fixed, i'll lock and move it now.

To answer your question, Yes it does increase crew skill too.
It depends on if they survive, and other factors, Speed up crew increases them to "about" 120% normal from memory.

Tanitha: How do you get to that? I am not premium ATM and am saving to cover next week for me and buddies.
The bigger tanks I'm playing against the more exp i gain quickly. Sure i die quickly too, but who cares, its fun, and i get paid a lot.
And I'm just grinding to buy a bigger tank.
So with the T4 light tank (leopard) I'm usually in games that are T4 -> T8 sometimes T4 -> T10.
For scouting T8 tanks, i would bet i get paid a lot more than scouting T3 tanks.
+ I get paid for when our arty hits things im scouting for our arty.
+ Any tank can kill a arty, so i get to kill things like S51's which are T6.
Etc..
I almost always get paid 13k+ for a 1.5 min quick game in the leopard, repairs and ammo are just under 3k.
Because you aren't premium you will have to save up your gold ^^ or earn less.
