Ectar: Taugrim on Youtube is a good pick if you want to learn, as are Wargaming's own guides. Learning the basics is generally a good idea, as are picking tanks that you are able to play. Heavy tanks might not be the worst idea if you have issues with the spotting system. The Japanese heavy tanks are rather forgiving, to put it mildly - seemed like just about anyone could play the Type 5 with one hand behind their back and do allright. Hardly how a game is supposed to work if you were to ask me.

Ectar:  There might be some, but most tend to blame 'rigging' for their misfortunes. It's perhaps noteworthy that you perform, well, average-ish in your low-tier tanks, while the mid-tier ones leaves a little bit to be desired. There may well be something you've missed.

Ectar:  You have every right to be very annoyed, even if there wasn't exactly a promise on the box or the tank isn't the answer to everything. Makes little sense to discuss your spending, but it's good that you realise the issues of gambling. Saves us from doing the right thing and telling you.

Ectar:  PMM tanks on their own may well be problematic. Just look at their history in the game. The Type 59 remains one of the few PMM tanks who are quite competitive. As for dying out, you may well be right, and if you read the thread, you'd realise I already made that point - albeit gently, because our mate here is (rightfully, perhaps) upset that his investment did not pay off.

Wargaming and their staff are active on several (if not most!) social media channels, streaming - and also planning events, marketing-related work and travelling. There's more to being a community coordinator/manager than just posting on the forums.

View Postcrnakoza, on 10 December 2019 - 08:03 PM, said: (...) This is highly region specific issue. I recall it going on as far as few years back. Some people were affected while others were like "huh? get yourself better internet connection". I dug into it and, lo and behold, some routing points were experiencing heavy packet loss. And I mean heavy. This crap starts always when there is something big going on, like holidays, sport events and such... and always in the prime time when people are back from work.

Ectar:  Just 'quoting for truth', in the literal sense. Problems with Internet infastructure aren't restricted to the game's server. There's interference in homes, malfunctioning modems (overheating is an issue for many) and several nodes that may have bandwidth issues - even before you reach the sea cables. Of course, most of those who play online games do it during the afternoons, and they are typically more 'demanding' customers - someone streaming Netflix likely won't notice any throttling, because their stream is buffering the content. There's no guarantee that your ISP is able to get your packets a thousand kilometres, over borders, under the sea, and through multiple vendors without causing what you experience as 'lag' in a game.

I'll be honest, I would be happy to go without new tanks or events in favour of some new and/or improved maps. After all, events and new tanks are for the few, maps are for everyone!

Ectar:  It would certainly add to the thread if you could sum up what you were looking forward to, if it's not just a matter of getting something new. Many people seem to be lost in that. Do keep in mind that while the WoT business model does rely on players, both paying and so-called 'free2play', there might be reasons for why certain events and new tanks are introduced, rather than new maps. The paying players are likely a minority, and map development is, by common knowledge, a tedious process (just look at the transition to 1.0).

You wouldn't even need XVM - it's just a matter of focusing them, you just don't know if they'll be a bad player and a easy kill or a good player that would help the enemy team win.

Fair enough, it may well be the best of the PMM tanks, but it's not a Godsend.

But the clan wars tanks haven't been sold and the other pre order tanks haven't been sold. View PostDeadoks, on 14 December 2017 - 06:19 AM, said: 1. We don't know the player.
- On LoL we (learn to) know each player and their play, we sometime meet them on random 2. The game(play) team vs team is not like random, sono identification of the game we play against the game they play. - On LoL we play the same game, same champions on the same "map"... It's easier to identify your play versus their play and learn from them. 3. The commentators are "boring" as hell and have nothing to give us. We don"t know them, they lack of personality so nothing to make us want to listen and watch them. - On LoL we know Sjokz (ahhhh gril), Deficio, Phreak (tons of damage),... and much more. They make the show and they're interesting to listen too. THEY put the magic to make us want to see the stream and look the game, THEY give stories about the player and their lives and so..

Ectar:   Ok well you seem to be approaching this as someone who watches a lot of LoL and only 1 or 2 WGL      1 - If you follow the WGL like you follow Lol you'd know the players. If anyone watched a LoL tournament now who didn't play LoL, they wouldn't know the different players or their stories.   2 - Its a fair point, hence why after this tournament there will likely be some sort of change in how esports is done. There was an official announcement about this earlier in the season.   3 - Again, you only know the LoL personalities if you watch LoL actively or have watched it multiple times in the past. For WGL casters, Mojo is one of the most well known players related to esports, Dakillzor is the commander of FAME, the best clan in EU and a pro player himself. As for me I was Community Manager for WoT for 3 years.   In LoL you can have up to 1 hour for a single 5 on 5 which is lots of time to build a story. An average 7v7 round in WoT is around 4-5 mins which isn't easy to build a consistent narrative. We do have an analyst segment though where Aniallator and Mailand break things down before and after matches - 2 well known players from top EU teams (Again, if you'd watched the league regularly you'd know that. Just like you know who Crumbs or Proly were if they were on a LoL desk.)     Thanks for the feedback though. It's always helpful to know areas that can be worked on for people unfamiliar with the WGL. If you have more suggestions please fire away.

The Community Team always have the players side and will clash, I mean discuss with other teams on your behalf. When they have an answer to something the community is always updated right away.   Sometimes however the answer really is "we don't have an answer yet" or "It's still being worked on" and we have to accept that, like it or not.

Ectar:   In fairness you're messaging 2 different people who's roles involve running entire departments and are not in a point of contact role for player issues. It's a bit like making a ticket and asking why the head of customer service didn't respond to you personally. Their PM's are probably set up with email notifications which means you can read the message via your email without logging into the forums. Before messaging Nijal you have Community Coordinators, Community Managers and Community Team Leads who should be able to answer any issues related to Community Management. If every time you had an issue you skipped up levels and got an answer, you'd do that all the time and you'd never go talk to the Community Coordinators or Managers. On top of that you would encourage others to do the same since it worked for you. When the chain of contact is skipped like that all that really happens is your message is passed back down the chain with a request to help as best as possible. It doesn't result in a different answer because if the CC's or CM's could do something else, or do what you request/suggest, they would. There is absolutely no reason what so ever for someone to deliberately not to help a customer when they can. The difference is that it's not always possible to do whatever the customer demands or expects.  - There is always limits to what can and can't be done regardless of what we may personally desire and that will always be hard for some people to accept.   Your opinions, thoughts and feedback are important to you. They're not more important than any/every other player however and when working in Community you need to step back and look at the bigger picture. It's impossible to address every individual concern.

Ectar:   The indicators beside the player names on the UI is part of the observer mod and is there to help casters and viewers keep track of reloads and shots.  When playing the game the players are playing with zero modifications so they don't see the game as you see it presented from the observation point of view.

Ectar: My thoughts on the matter? - It's fine as it is.   The enemy team doing anything to deny you a kill. Be it drowning their tank, be it running away or hiding behind a rock in the closing seconds on a battle and not coming out to die, be it blocking you in the closing seconds of a battle from getting a kill shot on one of their team mates when the timer is almost out - Or anything else like that:  All perfectly legit and ok tactics.   Get this clear in your heads. The enemy team owes you zero favours whatsoever. In a random battle their job is to cap your base, or kill you. It's not to help you win if it looks like the match is lost. They will do that via whatever means possible. So what they drowned and denied you a kill? If you actually looked at the numbers you will have more matches where you lose out on potential damage/kills due to team mates capping a base, than due to an enemy tank drowning themselves in the closing stages of the fight.   The enemy team are not your team mates. They're not there to "help you" farm damage/kills or make it easy for you.
