Archives\Beta\Something seems off in this game!

merig00: 1. I can only buy good ammunition with ingame gold and thats only
obtainable with real cash. (the ingame gold we have know is only
beta gold, I presume?)
The difference between the ammo you buy for gold and the ammo you buy for XP is very big. For instance my PzKfw III can only buy ammy which penetrate to 80mm while the gold purchasable ammo goes to 130mm penetration.
Answer: Purchase gold ammo and try playing with it. Also notice the price per shell. The premium ammo is well balanced.
2. The balance in matchmaking seems way off to me.
I've been researching german tanks (and buying them) up to the PzKpfw III. When I enter battle I get assigned to battles with all kinds of high tier heavy and medium tanks which are way higher tiers then my tank. I've researched everything on the PzKpfw II, my crew is at 80% and I dont damage ANY type of tank. All my hits are either "bounced off" or "We didnt even scratch them". I can understand being weaker but I dont do ANY damage watsoever. When being shot at I get one-shotted nearly every time. This also mean fast deaths, no XP and therefore no progress and lots of frustration.
Answer: today was the first day after the soft wipe so most people got a chance to start right from the high level tanks, that's why there is some imbalance right now. Also each tank has its own play-stile and purpose. The same goes for different guns on tanks and ammo. Try not using auto-aim but to aim at the weak spots and shoot with HE rounds. It takes some time and practice to start "feeling" the tank, I know it's very annoying but the short and mean answer is Learn to Play.
3. When finished upgrading your tank on a tier you can exchange the research points for free experience but you need gold for that!
When finished researching everything on a tank and therefore also the next tier tank you still need to purchase this tank. The only way to do this is by spending experience points which you have to save up by playing your current tank. ALL the research points you earn are lost if you dont have gold.
Answer: Instead you can check off the box Speed Up Crew Training and rapid-train your crew. All your experience will go to the crew training. It's free - no gold or credits required.
4. Even though it is still a beta I would suggest making a good manual which covers everything in the game.
I've seen some manuals/ faq's covering some of the info but it would make life easier for beta testers and also it would make commenting on the intended way of play more productive.
Answer: There will be a game manual as well as tankopedia. Not a priority on the beta stage. You are free to write up your own FAQs or come up with adjustments to the current ones.
5. The gameplay is somewhat limited.
What I see until now is 15v15 players capturing a base or killing all other players. Is there other gamemodes coming where you have unlimited tanks keep on playing untill a timer runs out? Capture the flag? Or some coop mode against computer tanks?
Answer: From the top of my head I can count up 5 or 6 different modes that will be available. You should really go through the pinned topics first.
6. Axis vs Allies?
I think its weird that russian and german tanks fight against russian and german tanks. It should be ALL german tanks fighting against ALL russian tanks.
Answer: The game is about tanks, and not nations. It's more fun the way it is right now. But we will have Historical Battles.
7. Coop play is nearly nonexistent
All the matches i've been in have been nearly uncoordinated. This is probably due to the lack of a command structure. Maybe something like ranks and an overal commander who is able to direct tanks throughout the battlefield will make it more feeling like a multiplayer game.
Answer: Well we made first step toward some structure today with introduction of Platoon. More things will come.
8. Repair vehicles?
Why isnt there something like a repair vehecle which can be used to repair damaged or disable tanks? This will make the wait time when being killed worth while. Maybe something like a tech line for these vehicles.
Answer: it doesn't fit the dynamics of the game as developers envisioned it.
9. Voice communication
I'm not sure IF thats available but if it isnt... maybe that would make coordination better.
Answer: will be available on the Platoon level and above.
10. More and bigger maps.
I would like to see very large maps with loads and loads of players.
Answer: Developers are planning 30vs30 5kmx5km maps.
Now as a mod, I must let you know that all your questions have been asked and answered before many many time. You can find the answers to most of the questions in the pinned topics or on the website's FAQ. Please do thorough research in the future.

merig00: So somehow you managed to get some people who want to play with
you, maybe because of your awesome social skills or because you
have IS-7.
First thing to remember - to create a Platoon you need to have a premium account. You do not need a premium account to join a Platoon.
You can play with one or two of your friends.
In order to begin the invite process for a Platoon, you need to click on the triangle under the big red Battle! button and chose Create Platoon

After you click that, you'll get the Platoon Channel with the invite option.

Click on "Invite", and the invitation form window will pop up. There you can chose to invite people from your Contacts list or use Find Contacts to look up people you want to play with. You can also send them a message with the invite by typing it up in the "Additional Invitation Text" form. To add someone to the invite list, select them and click the Add button. After you are done click Invite.

The person you are inviting will get a notification in the Invite button. Open it up, click on the invitation and the "Invitation to join Platoon" window will pop-up. You can accept, decline or cancel. In our case we'll accept

After you accept the invitation, notice that your big red Battle! button is now changed into big red Ready! button. You are also added to the Platoon Channel. You are not ready to play yet, that is indicated by red dot in the Platoon Channel window - if the creator of Platoon will click Battle! right now you will be left behind.

That's why after you select the tank you want to play, and buy ammo and expendables if needed, click that big red Ready! button. You will see that in the Platoon Channel you get green dot, as well as your choice of tank will be shown. The Ready! button will changed into Not Ready! button. Now all you need to do is wait for the creator of the Platoon to click his Battle! button. Also if you change your mind and want to change the tank, click the Not Ready! button and chose another tank. Click Ready! button afterwords to indicate to your friends that you are ready to play.

That's it. If you want to quit Platoon, click on the Platoon under the Battle!/Ready! button.

ARGO: Light tanks/mediums and Arty SHOULD be like corn flakes and milk.
You both need and rely solely on each other to win a battle. It
pays to buddy up with arty or scouts because believe it or not, YOU
set the tone to the battle. Without scouts and arty, the heavies
walk right into the hands of the TDs and Arty. Now how amny
examples of this have you seen? Don't let some concieted heavy
drivers tell you your not important because I will run with arty
and scouts anyday over relying on heavies to get it done. Heavies
are nice, but you guys are the eyes and ears of the battle.

ARGO: When my KV3 crew was in the 90's my 107mm did good but I still had
annoying up close misses. When they passed 100% all of a sudden the
107mm Magic began. They didn't miss anything. That gun became the
most lethal player in the game and my tank started getting some
serious kills. I am now as I said in an IS and I will whole
heartedly tell you one thing I have learned. If your crew is not
past 101% do not expect any tank to do well in a shoot out. I know
some of you may say different. But I am talking about things like
auto targeting lock on and leading targets. After 101, your crew
will become gods of war and your hit/kill ratio will go up. The
107mm is the best gun in any KV for this purpose because it's cheap
on the ammo and it hits very hard. Also if your gonna go nose to
nose with a T-44 and or Tiger, your gonna want that quick reload
time. Trust me, quicker reload beats out bigger punch every time. I
would rather take my chances that My 101+ crew will get 6 no miss
107 shots into that KV3 than his 80% crews 152mm will get on me
while he's waiting for a reload.
BTW, 107mm range is outstanding, KV3 makes a great tank killer/base defence if used that way.

Game Discussion\Game Guides and Tutorials\[FAQ]What will get you experience and what will not
