Archives\Beta\This is the best tanks
Link on message: #246441

ARGO: I have to say any IS named tank is great, all of them. T-44 is also
a winner. For Germans I like the VK3601H and VK3001P because they
are good little money makers. KV3 with a 107mm is a descent tank. I
would dare say that any fast tank is a good scout and all Artillary
are good. I havn't bought a Tiger tank but I can say I am sad to
see how poorly they perform in the game. A friend of mine has one
and it is forever being rife with gun, fire, ammo rack, turret
problems. I really hope they fix the Tiger tank because a legendary
tank like that deserves better. KT, They are great tanks but my
friends complain about the gun missing a lot and bouncing.
I can't however make an opinion on TDs because I have not tried them as of yet. I do know however that when I am in my IS4 I consider TDs and Arty to be my guardian angels because they seem to always be there when I need them.

If they give that, I will be very happy and definately a paying customer. I really don't care how long it takes. I just hope they don't need to launch the game prematurely. Let them finish it and make it perfect. I am having fun now in Beta, and will have fun for a while while playing it.

ARGO: 1. A stable running game with no lag or warping issues (and
european servers, please...) "Warping issues are gone, Lag is
something that all online games are plagued with, it's something
you can't really get away from in an online game. And stability is
always being worked on by the Devs after all it is a Beta."
2. Some new maps now and then. "Since that 2nd wipe there have been at least 4 new maps added and more comming"
3. A cool clan-battle map. "On the way"
4. Some new tanks now and then "They just added an entire tank tree"
I know it's tough to have to wait on things but like they say, good things come to those who wait so try to bear with the Devs and allow them to fix/adjust what we already have before we throw any more on their plates. Besides, I am sure there will be many goodies down the road for us all.

Tanitha: I wouldn't recommend it, the existing names that don't meet the
naming guidelines are getting worked on / renamed at the moment. It
could save you some hassle in the future if you don't have a name
that is on the below list.
3.5 Names and Avatars
While the limitations below may seem harsh, we feel very strongly that they have no place on the World of Tanks forums due to their extremely offensive and inappropriate nature. The following list is only a summary, but it gives some idea of names and avatars which are considered inappropriate on these forums:
• Names and avatars which have in any way racist, nationalistic, discriminative, abusive, obscene/vulgar, pedophiliac, disability or harrassment implications or which in some way insult an ethnic group
• Names which are unattractive and unreadable.
• Names and avatars which have an association with sexuality or violence.
• Names and avatars which have an offensive connection to the human body or bodily functions.
• Names and avatars which make reference to addictive substances or their use.
• Names and avatars of historical or political personalities, above all those which arouse feelings of suffering or disgust in the majority of people.
• Names and avatars which either in whole or partly contain copyrighted or registered trade mark elements.
• Logotypes, symbols, emblems, figures (such as, 88, 14) abbreviations (such as, SS), or their stylizations (such as, 55) which may provoke strong negative reaction/association or promote national/ethnic/religious hatred.
Such names which depict any type of the above mentioned content either implicitly or explicitly are prohibited. If names or avatars of forum accounts violate these rules they can be changed or the accounts may be blocked. Moreover, the administration reserves the right to delete, update or modify any names and avatars which are considered inappropriate on these forums. Instead of taking the above measures the administration can notify the holder of such name or avatar for the purpose of making the corresponding account changes.
Edit **
Ive checked with support. They will change the name in their next batch..
Pmed OP to advice them of that..

Forum name has been changed already, the game names get done weekly.

Yeah no warping means people can manual aim, zoom and snipe at a distance.
Sorry Tanitha, but that doesn't cut it.
Whilst this may account for some of the increase it certainly doesnt answer the whole problem.
Prior to the patch the warping issue was for longer ranges. at closer ranges where autoaim wasnt required , hence people could still manual aim properly there wasnt this permatracked issue.
This has all occurred since the patch. Im currently running a JagdPanther , IS and T29 and its the sdame with all 3 (admittedly the T29 seems to get it worse than the other 2).
Its not a slight increase we are talking about either.
In all of the 1000+ games i played prior to the soft wipe and all the 1000+ games ive played since the soft wipe i never ever even once got permatracked. I at least at some point was able to repair and move a bit before getting tracked again. Since the latest patch I can count at least 10 games spread between 3 different vehicle that ive been permatracked until death.
Has my game play got that much worse or have people suddenly gained that much greater skill? i doubt it. That only leaves an issue with how the tracking is implemented by the game. Next to the Line of sight issues I believe this is the most game breaking problem at present. Hell its so bad that i don't even see people moaning about arty any more because this is so much worse

Sure it doesn't cut it. I only mentioned the main reason IMO..
There's what I said originally.... "Yeah no warping means people can manual aim, zoom and snipe at a distance."
+ The auto aim leading was changed, Again making auto aim pretty useless, so again more people using manual aim.
+ The introduction of USA tanks, that have good turret Armour and weak tank Armour, So again making people use manual aim and aim low.
There is many reasons why now people who used to auto aim are now manual firing and aiming lower to avoid the extra turret Armour on a lot of the tanks.
Before the patch I myself was a heavy auto aimer, I was happy to just hit the tank, I didn't really care where it hit as long as it hit.
Now auto aim is nowhere near as accurate, + the other reasons above, that's forced me to manual aim with zoom for 95% of the shots, where as I only used to manual aim about 30% of the shots prior to the patch.
Arty splash damage was altered too.
- Improved HE explosion: when exploding your HE on the static object near your tank, your tank will be damaged; when exploding your HE on the armor, the splash damage is distributed by the standard rules of splash damage.
I'm not sure how much that effects things too, but i'd guess id would be more damage from missed arty shots that splash onto the tracks.
This might or might not effect hitting tracks.
- Increased normalization effect when shell penetration value is twice as much as armor thickness value or more.
Etc.. It all adds up to more shots on the tracks...
To decrease tracking they could increase hit-points to the tracks.
Or take another approach and make the repair kits a bit cheaper, Like 2k (or 1.5k) each, and allow you to carry as many of them as you wanted to.
Or as RizlaKing suggested, perhaps a track skirting as a equipment item with a extra 4th equipment slot to put it in..
Or Something...
Sorry Tanitha, but that doesn't cut it.

Ok, Overlord. Thanks for clarification. This kind of system will propably make sense and everybody will be pleased.
I've got a several questions though if you dont mind
1. You said something about channels. Does that mean that I can switch from platoon voice communication channel to general during battle to say something to other guys which are not in my platoon? That would be helpful sometimes I think.
2. Will there be some hud window we can hide displaying player status during match? I mean info about which channel certain player is now at (for example on his platoon channel or global team channel, or just displaying who is on this channel), whether he has active voice system or disabled from menu (would be helpful to know who is listening and who isn't). I think such features would be very helpful.
3. Is there a possibility that voice communication device can create more lags for entire room/certain players?
4. Will we be able to set our push to talk button or it will be fixed? (hopefully no)
That is all I wanted to ask. I believe a lot of players have or will have many doubts and those several questions can at least to some extent put as at ease

Overlord:
1. At first voice chats will be avilable only within platoons and companies.
2. Definitely not in the first version.
3. Potentially it can. We have already done some optimiztion to minimize its impact. Test version of voice chat will be added in the upcoming 0.6.2 update.

4. Push-to-talk button will be an option, but will be added a bit later.

random because the devs don't understand the basic principles
behind reading stats.
I guess I'm not surprised. I mean if they can't even see that arty is overpowered and think it's balanced because of "50/50" stats, then it's basically near impossible to expect balance between tanks.
It's really no different than flipping a coin a bunch of times to determine balance. The more times the coin gets flipped the higher chance for a unit to be "balanced".

Overlord: We all would like to find out what perfect balance is. Perhaps, you
can give your expert opinion.

Besides that, Wargaming is
not Russian company. Pardon me if i'am mistaken.

Moreover, I'd put it that way: it's really ridiculous to screw the balance in game for national pride of the major part of player database (Russian player database), since the developers are not Russians (at least 90% of us).

Only tier 7-10 US Heavy Tanks armor is bugged and this obviously should be fixed. Another changes like: traverse speed, turret rotation and guns accuracy are not bugged but probably will be "nerfed". As devs stated nothing is certain atm.
US Medium Tanks guns are weak. Low damage, poor accuracy and decent penetration. Moreover, US medium tanks are at best average. As Overlord stated before in this topic they will (probably) nerf US Medium Tanks guns.

Did I say that? We are not going to nerf US mediums. No nerf is needed for them.
If you are speaking about guns adjustment, it's not a nerf, and it hasn't been confirmed yet.

MrVic: As far as I know with the soft wipe with the EU>NA cluster split
its early mid December time frame. Any details as to bonus gold or
things of that nature is still to be determined once were
closer.
Devs are working hard on getting things setup for it, so more details are still in flux for now. Once we have more details we'll get them posted asap.
Right now I figure we can expect a credit refund for tanks and modules we have currnetly and a exp refund out our tanks. Beyond that we'll have to wait a bit more to see.

MrVic: Red percentages means they are moved but not trained to that tank.
Also they will not gain exp until trained for that tank. So you
need to open the crew members profile and retrain, there will be 3
options for gold/creds/free and depending on the choice will affect
how much Exp they gain or retain ect.
Tank skins , there should be a guide in the Creativity section on tanks skins
Hope that helps
