Lert: How long before your stats increase significantly? That's entirely
up to you. Your skill level, your rate-of-learning, your skill
ceiling, how much time and effort you are willing to invest, etc.
We can't say anything meaningful about that, apart from 'several
thousand matches' - which could mean 2000 or 10000. Or more. Or
less. There is a link in my sig that links to all my guides
that might help you.
Subject: Lert's glossary of terms
Link on message: #8181522
Link on message: #8181522
Lert: There are several threads like this, but they are either not pinned
where they can easily be found, or
only deal with abbreviations. As such, I have decided to write
my own and keep it linked in
my collection for reference. Common terms: GLHF -
Good luck, have fun DIAF - Die in a fire Noob - player of low
skill, regardless of experience Newb - player of low experience,
new player Scrub - player of low skill, regardless of experience
Skreb - same as scrub, considered less offensive Potato - player of
low skill, regardless of experience GG - good game BG - bad game NS
- nice shot SRY - sorry Camp - stay stationary in one spot waiting
for the battle to come to you, regardless of the events happening
on the map Camper - someone who camps Zerg - when most or all
players go to one flank Hitpoints - the amount of life a gaming
entity has, expressed in an abstract number OP - overpowered UP -
underpowered Sniping - shooting at long range Pro - short for
professional. Implies great skill. Can be used mockingly Casual -
Opposite of pro o7 - it's a salute KS - kill stealing, not really a
relative term in WoT, though a lot of people seem to think so TK -
teamkilling, don't do it RNG - random number generator / god Nerf -
to make something relatively weaker by adjusting stats Buff - to
make something relatively stronger by adjusting stats WoT
player specific terms: Tomato - player of low skill,
regardless of experience Red - player of very low skill Orange -
player of low skill Yellow - player of intermediate skill Green -
player of decent skill Blue - player of good skill Purple - player
of very good skill Unicum / unicorn - a purple Blurple - blues and
purples lumped together into one gategory. They don't always like
to be addressed as such. Wallet Warrior - term of endearment used
for people who support the game by playing premium tanks, allowing
freeloaders to keep playing for free Sealclubber - Experienced
player who owns multiple end-tier tanks but plays low tiers for
stat enhancing purposes. Not every experienced player who also
plays low tiers is a sealclubber, some do so every now and then for
actual enjoyment rather than stats Tank terms: LT -
light tank MT - medium tank HT - heavy tank TD - tank destroyer SPG
- artillery Sky cancer - artillery (god I hate that term)
Whackamole - artillery Clicker - artillery WoT gameplay
related terms: Derp - when talking about guns, a derp is a
low velocity howitzer shooting relatively large HE shells.
Inaccurate but comical Derp - when talking about player actions,
'to derp' means to make a mistake which leads to negative
consequences Cap - to capture a base, one way of winning a match
Lemming - when most or all players go to one flank Flex - move
across the map reacting to changing conditions, the opposite of
camp Push - actively engage the enemy with intend to kill and force
a breakthrough Suiscout - ineffectively running straight at the
enemy team at the start of the match and not surviving it Carrying
- doing damage and getting kills significantly above your tank's
level and being instrumental in the victory Flanking - moving
around map geometry to get side- or rear shots on an enemy
otherwise occupied Autoloader - a 'magazine' system in the gun.
Takes a long time to load from scratch, but then has several shells
it can fire in quick succession Autocannon - like an autoloader,
except that an autocannon fires multiple shots per mouse click,
whereas an autoloader only fires one shell per click RTB - return
to base MM - matchmaker CW - clan wars Angling - the art of
positioning your tank so to maximize the chance of bouncing
incoming fire Toon - platoon of 2 - 3 players Failtoon - platoon of
2 - 3 players, 1 - 2 of which are in wholly inappropriately tiered
tanks for the match they're in Clipping - reloading an autoloader,
or destroying a tank with one full reload of an autoloader Reroll -
An experienced player making a new account, starting over
Facehugging - fighting at such close range the driver could lean
out and touch the other tank Sidescraping - Presenting your side
armor at a very steep angle to provoke autobounces
WoT game mechanics terms: Spaced armor - two layers of armor
with air between them. External modules (like tracks, optics etc)
function as spaced armor Pen - to penetrate target armor Splash -
when a shot doesn't penetrate or just lands nearby, but still does
damage. Only HE and HESH can splash Crit - damaging a module on the
target. A shot that does critical damage doesn't necessarily always
also do hitpoint damage Viewrange - the distance at which your TC
(tank commander) will spot a completely uncamouflaged tank
(pro-tip: 'a completely uncamouflaged tank' does not exist)
Drawrange - the distance at which dynamic entities (destructible
buildings, trees, tanks etc) get drawn on your screen Camo -
camouflage. Can mean crew skill, tank paint, tank inherent
camouflage value or a combination of the aforementioned, possibly
including obtained camo factor using bushes etc. Counters
viewrange. Spotting distance - viewrange minus camouflage factor AP
- armor piercing, a shell type APCR - armor piercing composite
rigid, a shell type HE - high explosive, a shell type HESH - high
explosive squash head, a shell type HEAT - high explosive anti
tank, a shell type Gold - the premium in-game currency, also used
for APCR, HESH and HEAT shell types XVM - extended visualization
mod, a third party mod that can show player stats and predicted win
chance statistics. Also has a number of quality-of-life
improvements to the GUI WN8 - a third party metric XVM uses to
display player stats 6th / 6th sense - a perk that tells the player
when they've been spotted, 3 seconds after they've been spotted BiA
- brothers in arms, either a perk for the entire crew, or a medal
where platoonmates get three kills each and survive the battle
Tracked / tracking - the art of knocking a target tank's track off
to immobilize him, or having that happen to you Racked - being shot
in the ammo rack so hard it fatally explodes Meta - overarching
stratagems, gameplay conventions, on a broader scale. Tank choice
for specific maps, broad strategies, etc Clan wars related:
Chips - Chips are the 'currency' clans use to attack pieces
of land, based on the amount of players in the clan. You can't
attack with more chips than you have players Stack - 15 chips. This
represents a full team Mapping / mapped - Mapping someone means
taking all their land so they're no longer on the CW map. That clan
is then said to be mapped Diplo - Diplomacy. "We won't attack you
if you don't attack us" / "You can have these lands if we can have
those lands" etc etc. Can also mean diplomat, the person who
arranges diplo for a clan Gold hill / gold pot - A particularly
rich piece of land that yields a large amount of gold for the clan
owning it Wardec - War declaration. A declaration from one clan
that they intend to go to war with another, usually with intent to
map them Landing zone - A piece of land on the CW map one can apply
to land on if one isn't on the map yet Riot - A held piece of land
can riot, in which case it becomes a landing zone Ransack - A clan
that holds a piece of land can ransack it, in which case it will
yield three times the daily dose of gold, but then yield 0 for the
next 7 days Encounter - If two clans attack the same province they
have to fight eachother for the right to fight the owner of that
land Landing tournament - If more than two clans apply for a
landing (on an LZ or a riot) they have to fight eachother in
tournament style for the right to fight the owner of that land
Locking / locked - If a tank gets destroyed in a CW battle, it gets
locked and becomes unavailable for CW battles for a time, depending
on what tier and type of tank it was, the type of battle and
whether the battle was a victory or not. Only battles for actual
land lock tanks. Landing tournaments do not. Locked tanks can be
used normally in other battle types Battle popped - 15 minutes
before a CW / tournament battle starts, clan members able to play
in that battle get a 'special battle' button where they can join
this battle. When this happens the battle is said to have popped

some big looney tunes wrenches. Are they kept on the tank? -
Adjusting track tension seems needlessly complicated.

needed for the playoffs if there is no winner after 6 battles.

self-imposed leaning angle limit stops it. Probably the reason your
FT AC manages to do this is because it's so tall.

fazer? Dêem suas opiniões sobre o tema. Peço que mantenham a
discussão limpa e educada.

going to 'humiliate' him when I do, but hopefully contribute to his
demise in a meaningful manner. Preferably without shooting a lot of
APCR.

still matter in a tier 5 match, in regular play. Something some
