The_Chieftain:   My therapist broke up with me on Thursday. I've been seeing her for somewhere over a year, and am now in a far better/happier position than I was previously, to the point that there seems little benefit to continued regular sessions. That said, my issue was more 'destructive' than 'dangerous'. The only time I have ever felt my firearms to be at risk is when I was going to marriage counseling with the ex several years ago, and she (ex) expressed some concern. Fortunately, counselor apparently did not believe I was actually a threat.  

The_Chieftain:   Just juggle the crewmen around from duty to rest, if I recall correctly. I seem to recall that there were enough slots to allow your crew to be fully functional. That said, I think it's a stupid mechanism which contributed nothing to gameplay given how easy it is to mitigate.

The_Chieftain: I seem to recall it was a translated copy of a German manual as found in the Archives. I'll need to check when I get back to the office computer.

dance210:   Hi HVT,   At the top of the page, the Schedule Aug 19 with the exclamation point tells you when the tournament starts. That date and time is based on your time zone.   Below that, you should see something that looks like this:
1 Tier VI Day 1: Maximum 9 battles US 1 - 17:00, Aug 18, TH   US 1 is NA East; US 2 is NA West The time (17:00), date (Aug 18) and day of the week (TH) will vary depending on your time zone. Those should be filled in based on your computer's time.   The schedule down below is the time based on Pacific and Eastern time.

The_Chieftain:   Wasn't me.   We have enough instances of posts or in-game comments indicating at-risk persons that there's actually a process in place that when one is identified, from whatever mechanism, a reach-out is sent. I haven't looked into it, but I believe it's a list of telephone numbers and hyperlinks which can be of help. The recipient either chooses to avail themselves of one, or does not. Apparently our lawyers prohibit us from taking a more active role.    So, no offense Katori, but even if you dislike WG, we are still a company populated by actual, thinking, caring human beings and we don't like the thought of our players making terminal decisions. If the training we get in the Army is anything like what the corporate folks say it should be, we're not going to beat about the bush, and will be very direct. In the Army, we are taught to ask directly "Are you thinking about hurting yourself." We cannot physically go to you and sit on you, this is the best we can do. You may not have been thinking such, but that post of yours was a very strong indicator and it seems have been a reasonable enough conclusion that a bunch of folks took it as a suicidal ideation.   So, I'll be blunt. If you have been thinking about harming yourself, look into either one of those contacts that WG sent, the telephone number which was posted earlier in this thread by another Threaddite, or any other of the many sources of support which are available. We care. We can't make the horse drink, but that doesn't mean that the resources provided are bad just because the email or PM came from a WG source.   On other matters, yet again, top XP earner in my Saipan. This time against a Strike Ranger, so other than the Atlanta which annoyed the hell out of me, uninterfered torp-drops. I know we try to avoid Pay-to-Win, but Saipan, I wonder about... It's probably due a nerf if my experience is typical. Then again, of course, we don't like nerfing pay-to-buy vehicles and ships.

The_Chieftain: "Poor maneuverability"?! I don't know what ship they're playing. Just played the ship, came out second in XP, and really annoyed a DD driver by rapidly turning starboard towards him inside his torp spread while nailing him with a full 8-gun frontal salvo of HE. Then a hard left, letting the large amount of aft secondaries polish him off while I ran away. He made the mistake of thinking I was an easier target than the CA on the other side of the island.   I ended up by complete fluke selling one of my cars to a WoWS player, so as I was filling out the paperwork, I let him sit down at my PC and play a game in it. He concluded it was nimble as well.

The_Chieftain:   You can't play it as a traditional BB. The guns are too anemic, and I'm not convinced by the armor either. That said, it's very nimble, so all in all, I think it's more of a super-heavy cruiser. The big problem is that the main gun turrets seem easy to knock out. It's nice to be able to lob full broadsides when bow on and not exposing citadels, and it's also nice to be able to put that full broadside from one beam to the other very quickly, but lose one turret, and there goes half your firepower. I think I'd take Arizona over it, for a Tier VI BB, but it's still somewhat fun to play.

dance210:   The tournament starts in ~35 minutes, at 17:00 PT / 20:00 ET. It should be reading the time off your computer's clock, although sometimes that gets messed up (on my laptop, it always reads an hour behind what my clock is set at, for some odd reason).

The_Chieftain:   Although B took a lot of flak and visibility (Reasonable enough), I think A is the real reason. Indeed, I'm not even going to say that GB's reboot was a bad movie. Much like the Robocob reboot was actually a pretty good movie. But the thing the two have in common is that they were rebooting what were damned good movies to begin with, which didn't need rebooting and of the few who believed that the reboots could actually be better, I'll wager that a good portion simply didn't want to dilute the original damned good movie and the fond/cult memories they have. The movie isn't failing because nobody wants to see women. It's failing because nobody wanted to see a remake. I would lay money that a sequel, not a reboot, would have done much better.  

The_Chieftain:   My Gearing is a scout. I will only engage with guns either (a) at very long range against weak targets to start fires, or (b) if I happen to run across something I heavily outgun at close (6km or less) range, like a lower tier DD, or a Shimakaze. I stay clear of Soviet DDs, and light them up for something bigger and further away to shoot at. Otherwise, I lob torps. I can get close, usually, but I am constantly amazed as to how many BB drivers I hit with the things. I got a 450k credit game yesterday, nailing anything from North Carolinas to Yamatos who don't seem to take any form of precautions or react even to the first salvo.

The_Chieftain: I believe the NDA was lifted on that ship the other day, given I was told by Pigeon to make merry with it at about the same time.   Out of interest, has anyone tried communicating with the folks who put videos out on NDA ships to ask how well it worked out for them? I ask, because I suspect Jingles may have made an assumption...
