going 50 Km/h to have a higher viewrange than the higher tier
tanks. Otherwise, could you just imagine that little scout just
hanging out of my effective range while he spots for artillery?
Good scouts need to spot and run, otherwise they're practically
untouchable if they don't need to come close.

having the time of my life in mine and loving it. Heck I have never
won so frequently or got through battle more successfully than with
my Hetzonator. 10.5 gun + 100% camoed crew with net = Major league
sniping fun. My only regret with it is that I didn't get one back

KyleRees, on 23 February 2011 - 04:32 PM, said: You see your question is not the correct one, as you should be
asking what kind of Heavy would suit me best?
I like to hide behind cover and snipe when targets present them self, then you would like the German line who has the most accurate guns in the game. Or if you like to lead the charge when you are at the top of your match, then the Russian line is great with their speed and massive firepower. Or you like to support your fellow heavies by finding and making use of the best "Hull Down" terrain the Americans are best with the heaviest Turret armor that even an IS7 has a hard time penetrating.
That is the great thing about WOT, is that the developers have balanced "Mostly", the various nations that they present different ways to be played.

Excalibur_Bane, on 23 February 2011 - 01:39 AM, said: I started playing two days ago and so far I've managed to eek out a
meager M2 medium tank. I've suffered countless battles beyond count
where I am simply destroyed in one shot, or outgunned by multiple
tanks. I've gotten very few kills in these two days and even less
experience. Despite having a more powerful tank, the trend
continues. I launch a random battle, try to find some cover and
promptly get destroyed by a heavier tank or an artillery round
after I've been spotted. I've tried advancing on the enemy and
firing and running with little success, I've tried staying behind
and defending the base with even less success.
Is this all there is to this game is mindless deathmatches between tanks? I've seen no prevailing teamwork or much chat at all during battles, let alone any cooperation. My teammates only a few feet away from me are more then content to sit there and watch me take round after round and do nothing. My interest in this game is waning badly. I'm averaging 100 experience per battle and that's with the premium account enabled. I shutter to think what it would be like without it.
I don't know if I'm just bad player, or I'm getting stuck with bad teammates or the enemy is just that good but this just isn't any fun at all. I like the game, I really do. World war 2 games with a an arcade controls are very appealing but the learning curve (if that's what you call my experience so far) is far too steep and need to be improved. This goes way beyond the typical MMO grinding experience. I need to fight another 53 battles to unlock the next tank at an average rate of 100 experience a battle.
I need some help folks, please don't bash me, I'm just frustrated and I'd like to know what it is that I'm doing so, so wrong here because I surely don't understand it.

curve and once you start moving up things really do improve.

to Overlords Blog and read the change to the projected patch
release it says the 21st to the 24th of Feb which was the UPDATED
timeline as of the 18th. And magically the post was stealth changed
over the last couple days with no update posted to the 4th of
March. Im suprised they didnt remove more content from the .0.6.4
patch notes while they were at it. I dont even want to think about
how long we are going to have to wait to see .0.6.4 if this is
going to be the standard operating procedure for patches come
release. And the sad thing is that all the good content that was
going to be in .0.6.4 has been pushed back to some patch that is
supposed to come after that, which is going to fix everything it
seems.

Overlord: No conspiracy about it. Additional language packages cause delay in
updating. The patch itself has been finalized.

Archives\Junkyard\What if Germany had've invaded America?
Link on message: #410421
AngusMcAWESOME, on 21 February 2011 - 11:38 PM, said: Yeah, good luck with that idea. You want to send them up through
Mexico, where there only routes into the US take them through
either Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, or California? Really? So the
master plan is to not only stretch your supply lines across the
Atlantic, but now we're going to make them fight across desert
country (something they had a hard enough time with doing with
supply lines that just had to cross the Med), and their options are
going through a state that plays home for signifigant portion of
the US army and whose population has one of the highest per-capita
gun ownership rates in the entire country, or they can go though
the state we're using as a missile range and a nuclear test site
that's right next door to the previous state, or they can go
through the state that only has a few military bases but has one of
the most brutal deserts in the northern hemisphere and it's next
door neighbor is a state that serves as home to 1/3rd of the US
Marine Corps (along with a large portion of the USN pacific fleet,
and multiple army bases).
So the cunning plan, Baldrick, is to invade right into a part of the US where the US Military is immediately set up for a very large scale pincer manuever and your only method of retreat is run south as fast as you can till you hit the port you disembarked from and hope to God that the Americans haven't sunk your ride home... Right. Of course this is all based on the assumption that the US Navy would even allow the German invasion force to get in sight of land, much less actally land their forces.
How are the Germans supposed to even get to Canada? Battalions of fat guys in Red driving APC sized sleighs pulled by eight armored reindeer?

ARGO: Well Angus, As I said above is that it would be Germanys only place
where they may be able to attack from. I did not state that it by
any means would be successful even with the Fat guy in a Red suit.
I totally agree the US is a geological fortress not to mention the
Americans in that area wouldn't take kindly to an attack in their
back yards and out would come the owl rifles and Yahoos.

merig00: Visibility and spotting system are being worked on. Below are some
details.
Overall performance if the system will be optimized so as to consume less server resourcesThe rate of visibility checks will see significant increase (approx 3-5 times more frequent)The number of "hard points" (special spots are verified during visibility checks and located on the vehicles) will be increased several times. That is supposed to make visibility mechanics more accurate and credible when determining sight between tanks. The number of visibility "sight lines" each vehicle emits is going to be increased several times. Small objects (posts, stones, bushes etc) won't affect visibility mechanics the way they do it now, their influence is to be reduced."Camo" or visibility values are going to be reconsidered to reflect actual vehicle size and engine specs. Currently there is some mismatching, especially with German vehicles."Post-firing" visibility will be systematized and redesigned according to gun specsETA is to be announced.

merig00: You are correct - if your crew member dies during the battle he
does not get any experience for that battle. So penalty is there.
As for taking crew members/tanks out for several days - it defeats
the idea behind the game style of random battles which of course is
