Vallter: We are planning to remove red line one day.

Also, they used completely different engine sounds for the trailer. I hope those are the new engine sounds we are getting cause they sound pretty good. If you just used them for the trailer cause you think your in-game engine sounds aren't good enough....well then give us some new ones cause we think the same.

Vallter: No, unfortunately, not in this update. But this and many other visual features of damaging vehicle are planned, as well as module display (actually, we've announced it in ASAP video).

Tanitha: Dear Players.
This section contains archived and past Q&A threads for your reference.
The current Official Q&A Thread: 7.5 Era is located here
http://forum.worldof...-thread-75-era/
In this linked thread you can ask us anything about World of Tanks and its development. We cannot promise an answer, but in those cases we will still respond to the question and state that an answer is not available. In some cases, it might take a bit of time to get an answer to a question. When those cases arise, we will quote the question and state that we're in the process of getting the answer.
Questions should be related to anything affecting the live game or future developments.
Have Fun & Happy Tanking.

The graphics upgrade is very impressive (stunning really, I do want to see the maps with the new shadows and water) but I am not looking forward to the new physics.
I can't help but think this level of physics is like adding tripping mechanics in an FPS. You never see an FPS where you can die by slipping on the dirt, hitting your head on a rock and getting a concussion.   That may be realistic but it's not fun.
WoT has always done a excellent job balancing realism and fun.   I really liked how the original game was straightforward and let you focus on the fun parts of driving around massive warmachines blowing things up (or getting blown up in turn).  I can only hope that same balance was applied with these new physics.
I just wonder how the game is going to be made more fun watching my tank capsize in a river or tumble down an embankment.  Dying from the environment rather than dying from opponents is a major change in the gameplay, and I have to hope these physics do not make that a major element.
Because the alternative methods to kill opponents with jumping and ramming do sound very entertaining, but again that is the result of player actions, not terrain mechanics.

Vallter: You won't damage tank ramming static landscape objects, ilke houses or hills.

Most of us in the team had been busy today and we only had 4 players able to get into the team. One of our members said they checked yesterday and it was still schedualed for the 13th. The date was changed so unproffestionally, as compared to how most of the game runs, that our entire team was taken off guard. This sudden, impulsive descision to change the date does not site well with most anyone in the game. Developers, or whom ever is in control of the department of tournaments, you have dissapointed many of us (all players) tonight.

lord_farquad: The only time the matches were scheduled for the 13th was on the 5th, and we responded to that concern both on the forums and by rescheduling. We cannot grant rematches every time a team member does not show up, there simply is not enough time to do that in between each round. I recommend you keep an eye on the threads related to any tournament in which you are participating as the latest updates are likely to be found there (or in this case here, as you will see on the previous page).

it would add even more polish to this game

Vallter: We will polish this moment gradually within updates coming after 8.0. Though some effects will enter physics first iteration.

1.  if your tank gets hit by a bullet, lets say 12cm will your tank receive  "recoil" according to weight?
2.  Release date, when it is estimated for 8.0?
3.  what happens if your tank falls on another and your tank stays on top of theirs?
4.  So i'v heard about that multiple shots to one area of a tank can weaken the armor, if that is not true then when will it be implemented?
Thanks in advance!

Vallter: 1)Nope. In real life it most probably would make a hole and not just move your tank a bit. Other hit recoils are already in the game.
2)September-October 2012
3)I doubt he will survive this, but tests will show.
4)Nope, this is not implemented and not planned, at least for nearest future.

GeneralDirection: For what it's worth, the August specials for all 3 regions are very similar when looking at the whole month.

Gaea: In update 7.0 camouflages were introduced in the game. With them tankers are now able to change the exterior of their battle vehicles. But aside of adding more and more patterns, no changes were done to the system itself. In update 8.0 we plan to change this situation.
In the next World of Tanks update the camouflage system will be reworked. Players will receive the possibility to purchase 3 types of camouflage which will coincide with 3 types of maps – ‘Summer’, ‘Winter’ and ‘Sand’. The ‘Summer’ pattern will be displayed only on summer maps, like Prohorovka, while the ‘Winter’ pattern will camouflage tanks only on ‘Winter’ maps. The ‘Sand’ camouflage will color the vehicle in a similar way on the more sandy maps like El Halluf.
Camouflage will adapt to the landscape automatically if the appropriate pattern is purchased for the vehicle.
The camouflage menu will be changed (seeing this is only a draft, we were unable to create an English version):

But the main thing in the update is the fact that adaptive camouflage will now give a slight bonus to the camouflage rates of the vehicle. Currently it’s set to 5%, but the end percentage may change after tests. Bonus camouflage will stack with camouflage net and camouflage crew skill.
Camouflage, as it is currently, can be temporary purchased for credits or permanently set up (until a new purchase is made) on the vehicle using gold.
We want to remind you that this is only a work concept that may change upon your feedback and Public Test statistics.
A couple of points:More types of camo could be added in the future including urban.
If you have purchased camo in the past with gold it will be refunded (possibly) if you still own the tank. You will then get to choose the use the new camo system if you want.  All old camo will be removed.
If you choose just to buy a winter camo on a tank, when you are on other types of maps you will have the standard non camo appearance.
You may not have 2 camos of the same type on the same tank. If  you buy a second one the first is replaced.
Prices have not been set yet.
