Subject: Rise of the Americas Stage III & IV; the End is Near

I think the big question is, are the winners decided on March 5, when phase 3 ends, or after a few days of Tier 10 battles. I believe it is clear that winners are decided when the entire event is over, and that suggests phase 4 Tier 10. Some folks are thinking that phase 4 is just the go forward and the event ends on 3/5.

Gaea: The whole event ends on March 5th. "Stage 4" is basically the
beginning of normal Clan Wars. The winners will be determined on
March 5th.

Pendan, on Feb 22 2013 - 18:14, said: Challenges are one of the few times that elo ratings are supposed
to matter. Ironically your team got a bye the first round even
though you forgot the elo rating while the teams that did add elo
rating all had matches in the first round because of a mistake.
Also given you could have to face a strong RELIC team in the 3rd
round which would be only your second match it might be a good
thing you are unrated for this tournament because it could just
hurt your rating. If on the other hand you do very well in the
tournament it will be just a minor mistake. See my other post in
this thread on how flawed the elo system is.
Edit: The updated elo scores made yesterday after my first post mean the 3rd and 4th ranked team play tonight in just the 2nd round of the tournament.

Ranking players with a reasonable Efficiency system is much easier, and it is "cheat"-proof. Yes, it would take some players away from regular randoms, but it would worth it, I think.
And WG could make tournaments inside those leagues.
I'm not claiming to have The Solution, but it is just an idea.
Link on message: #3843904

Captain_Judo: We don't want to tie players to a single team across all
tournaments. But I think your feedback is useful toward elo team
captains

Captain_Judo: Nothing prevents teams from disbanding and creating a new team.
However, every new team must meet the 5 tournament, minimum
requirement. As our system evolves, we can change the minimum
requirements for entry as necessary.

Captain_Judo: I agree, ohsi. An automated system could serve everyone's best
interest. Unfortunately, any such system would require additional
resources that we can't immediately provide. So we look to
alternatives that can be immediately implemented.

Subject: Weekend Scrimmages

Siian, on Feb 23 2013 - 06:18, said: I didn't mean to be rude in my above post. I just enjoy the format
vastly and the weekend schedule is fantastic. It would be nice if
there was some sort of automated system in place for these round
robin events, instead of gold, pay out credits or something.
So have a tournament listing page, were you can join one, it waits for 8 teams to join, then does a 4 round robin event. Top score wins X amount of credits, and 2nd place wins X amounts of credits. (or gold if WG feels like it).
Make it have an entry fee so that no one can abuse the system.
So something like 100K to join, first pays 700K, second pays 100K.
That way the first place team earns 100K credits for each of the 7 members if they choose to run 7 man team, and 2nd place gets a free entry.
I would prefer gold over credits, but I can't assume WG would have an automated gold payout system for tournaments like these. It would be nice if so though.
Again these are just like 30 second thought up ideas, I am sure someone could come up with something a lot better. I just know we are going to miss these scrimmages, it makes your 7-10 man team so much tighter getting to play together.

worries
Hopefully I can answer all the above questions.
Scrimmages, as you know them, are over. Scrimmages served it's purpose as preparation for league play. We really want to encourage all teams to play in the World of Tanks Championship Series but understand that the model doesn't fit everyone's needs and interests.
So we see the popularity of this format and will reintroduce scrimmages with an overhaul to rules and prizing. However, you won't see this reintroduction in March.
Look out for a feedback thread shortly before this reintroduction occurs.

We're reaching a crossroads where we cannot continue to cater to all teams. Canaduck is correct. Unfortunately, you will need to choose between the two tournaments and value that which interests you most.

Mugsy_: Historical Battles and Garage battles are slotted for release this
year. I don't have a public release date but it should release
within the year.
Also, the new tutorial had bots, to some extent, so I think that bodes well for future modes and content which would include cpu tanks.
A quick thank you to everyone who posted a suggestion in this thread. Noted!

I'm sorry to hear you are having this frustrating experience, I'd be sick of it too.
I believe you'd need to provide more information in order for us to help troubleshoot this issue with you. Please submit a ticket to support at support.worldoftanks.com. If you already have, drop me a PM with the ticket number so I can look into it for you. I'd be glad to help however I can.
