The first team to win 1 out of 3 battles will move on to the next round (note to captains: this tiebreaker match may be pre-scheduled; if your team wins, please ignore it) For the Finals, the round is the first to 2 out of an unlimited number of battles.     Good luck to all the teams! dance210:   I can give you the same response that your peers did: payouts can take up to 7 days after the end of the tournament for gold to be credited to your account.   Yes, this week has been delayed. With Monday being a holiday and a large number of payouts to be processed, sometimes these things happen. Thank you for your continued patience for the playoff payout

dance210: Alright guys, I will try to address some (although probably not all) of your questions regarding the format change for Skirmish 7.   First, this is to test out a new format. The format may stay how it is, it may be adjusted, or it may be removed, none of which has been decided. Constructive feedback will be considered; non-constructive feedback much less so.   Why was the format changed? The format was changed to test a way to make Skirmishes more competitive, so that teams of similar “strength” or rank will face each other.   Where did this format idea come from? Some of you may remember a Nvidia/GeForce tournament a couple of years back. In that tournament teams were ranked based on how well they did against an opponent each night. At the end of the week, the match-up for the next week would be determined, with teams of similar win/loss facing each other. At the end of the round robin, the top teams faced each other in a playoff.   What is the reasoning behind the way teams are now seeded? We took this basic concept for Nvidia and applied it to the group stages of the Skirmish. Round 1 teams are unseeded. Rounds 2 and 3 are based on how well each team has done previously.   In a normal tournament, the group stage can be used to determine how many teams move on to playoffs. The teams could then be seeded and a playoff bracket made, usually with one winner. Our Skirmishes work differently; all teams from the group stage move on, half to the Alpha and half to the Bravo. This allows us to have multiple winners; however, it never pits the strongest teams against each other.   Because our goal is to make a more competitive format, we decided to seed the teams differently from group stage to playoffs. The top teams would be placed into their own bracket (still keeping traditional seeding with the strongest in the bracket facing the weakest), with the next set of teams facing each other.   This would continue with all teams, both Alpha and Bravo. Teams that just register for the weekend are kept unseeded, as they have no previous rank.   This actually decreases competition and makes teams rig battles! Maybe, which is why we’re testing it. However, if every good team throws matches the first night, they could still need to face each other. Now though they are all starting at the mid-level, rather than at the top.   As for throwing matches so teams have a better chance of earning gold in a lower playoff bracket….yes, it’s possible. As long as no other strong teams have the same idea and the gold prizes don’t change.   What about the gold prizing? No, the gold prize hasn’t been touched, at least not yet. Please don’t think that it can’t or won’t be adjusted in the future; it is one thing that we are looking at.   Hopefully this should answer some of your questions. You are always welcome to leave constructive feedback and continue the discussion. I’m particularly interested in any responses from Bravo and Weekend playoffs, if the changes make any difference for y’all.   Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have further questions and don’t want it to get lost somewhere in the thread.   I am actually going to end with a question for y’all.   Is the biggest issue with the format change the fact that you need to face teams at or around your level, or the gold?   Thanks!

The_Chieftain: Could be worse, it could be a damp squib.   As an aside, the editors cut out the end of my "Your favourite tanks" contribution. After "your life will change" with reference to the M58, it continues:   . There is a school of thought which says that you should skip the M58, and put the 60,000XP towards the T110E5 instead. After all, when you unlock the E5, you’ll get the M58 anyway. Do not succumb to this siren song unless there is some pressing, urgent cause that you need the E5 yesterday, for two reasons. Firstly, the M58 just transforms this tank. It will make the next 185k XP a sheer joy to earn, and secondly, the better gun will likely mean that you will accumulate the 185k XP about as quickly as you would the 125kXP without the M58. I did also get the tracks, just for the added resilience and faster turning. The radio I got because I’m obsessive, but it really isn’t all that important.   As an aside, I’m going to put a PSA out here if you’re considering the American heavy line. Don’t run T29 with the 76mm. Just.. don’t do it. If you decided to start your path to True Comfort  by going through the Shermans, then obviously you intended to continue up the medium line as well. Continue that path, unlock the 90mm cannon on T20, which can be placed on T29. If you don’t care about the mediums, then go with the T1 and M6 heavy tank route which are perfectly fine tanks in their own right, and which will unlock the 90mm for you as well by the time you get to T29. Or just store the Free XP to unlock the 90mm. Anyone seen running the toothpick of a 76mm on a T29 is going to be soundly mocked, and rightfully so, by their team-mates as being all but a liability to their team.

The_Chieftain:   I was thinking the same thing.   I'm not sure they want them to leave. I think they want to kill them. Either the Iraqis are supremely confident that they will achieve their goal even if the IS know they're coming, or they figure that their operations leak like a sieve, and the IS already know anyway.

Major_Rampage: I will be the first to admit I am not great at high tiers, but in mid tiers I can walk the walk and talk the talk.

Major_Rampage: There is a correlation between the discontinued TCs and the change over from the M18 (which was a TC tank) to the T67
