Subject: Collector's Gem of the Week
Link on message: #11607835
Ectar, on 07 October 2015 - 09:48 AM, said: Hi guys, just to let you know there won't be any further collectors
gems of the week. We are limited with regards to what tanks
we have available and doing repeat offers for what the community
view as common tanks (such as KV-5 or Kv-220) isn't something we
want to do. These tanks and packages were intended to appeal
more to collectors and people willing to pay a bit more, rather
than the average player looking to pick up a tank for a cheaper
price. I know to some people that's an unpopular option, but we
have to always look at making packages and offers to suit all
desires. Obviously everyone given the chance would like rare
premium tanks for as cheap as possible, but when everyone has
someone and has it easily, it very quickly isn't rare. The
vehicles we've sold in the past as "collectors gems" might return
later and some may even be for sale as just the tank on it's
own. I can also confirm that the Revalorise is planned to be
sold in EU but at a later date, but not too far away.

Link on message: #11551275
Link on message: #11551275
Ectar: Resolved via PM, sadly after events we're not able to swap
out t-shirts for people for a different size. This is only possible
during the event if we have other sizes available. We're not able
to guarantee that players will always be able to have a shirt in a
specific size as goodies at events are always limited.

Ectar: Top clans may win the top slots, but that's because no matter
how you break it down it will always be a competition based
around skill and because of that, veteran players will have an
advantage. The only way to win a contest that isn't based on
skill is to have the results 100% down to chance like a lottery or
raffle and it's highly unlikely any player would be happy with
results being totally out of their control. People
expecting to win Clan events with little exposure or prior
experience to Clan style events need to perhaps reconsider what
they're getting into, it's a bit like joining a marathon with no
training and being unhappy you're not in the top 10. Whilst we
will always make these events accessible as possible for
all players, you have to also appreciate that to win the big
prizes will always require a degree of skill as you're going
up against teams of other players. As numerous previous
campaigns have shown, plenty of other clans who would not be
considered "top clans" are able to walk away with rewards.

Subject: Questions for WG
Link on message: #11546931
Gunerstile, on 14 October 2015 - 06:33 PM, said: I have a few quick questions for WG staff:
1. When is the artillery going to be reworked? 2. When we will get more adequate maps? (not just city and corridor maps) 3. Is there any chances that updates and patches come more often, because at least for me, the game seems to be developing too slow. 3,5. When we will finally get 10.0 update? 4. This is more a hopeful wish than a question but still...will we be able to buy new premium tanks in the future without the bundles with a stuff that not many players need? 5. I read somewhere that all the maps that were recently removed were due to the altitude difference between some parts of the map...why is that, to me altitude difference presents more dynamic sense of the game, and therefore, I can not see the logic behind this decision, please explain this if it is appropriate for you.

Ectar: 1. There has been no formal decisions made on
any arty reworks. There is rumours circulated by players,
however no links to sources. What our developers say one week
in personal blogs can change the next week and much of what is said
is stuff being considered, not set in stone. Until something is
live as a portal article it's not confirmed, so at the moment
we have no current plans for any major arty reworks. 2. Map
development is ongoing. Your question is loaded because what
is "adequate" for you is not adequate for another player. Any
map arguable ends up a corridor map because tank fighting in nature
involves lines of vehicles facing off against each other and you're
always going to engage at regular points in the maps along known
lines. Even in games like Destiny, CS:GO, Call of Duty, Star
Wars Battlefront, the maps end up with set "corridors" where you
know people will advance down, and you will know certain approaches
and angles you need to cover. 3. We have no current plans to
bring out updates quicker 4. This is a possibility yes. 5. Maps
with a fairly large altitude difference presented major
disadvantages to certain vehicles due to gun depression/elevation
issues. They also present issues with slow moving tanks moving even
slower and being easier to pick off. Himmelsdorf avoids that
with lots of cover below it's hill and only certain places that can
be shot down from. Despite the rework Severogorsk for example was
basically 2 teams fighting down each side of the map in "corridors"
with people rarely going down the middle. Compared to an FPS
shooter where you have no limitations on where you can aim
depending on weapon you're aiming with, similar map dynamics don't
quite work.

live. Now they are posted on the portal where there is a much
higher viewership. For the public test, the patch notes are posted
when the public test is live (and the feedback sections are
active). The patch notes section is due to be removed or
redone in a future forum update.

it or not it's against the forum rules and when players insult
staff then they're going to be sanctioned. You're frustrated,
you know there is a swear filter on the forums, so you decide that
using a UK slang term for female genitalia (and fairly
inappropriate one at that) is somehow perfectly fine and not going
to result in any action being taken against you? Whilst to
some people the term you've used may seem fairly tame, in the North
of England it's very common insult and never something you'd say in
a friendly way. Even if you did then it's not something you'd
say to someone you don't know and aren't friends with. - What's ok

To OP, I took some
time to read through your post history. I don't quite
understand why you still post on the forums or play the game if you
seriously feel the way you do about the game. Furthermore to have
the mentality that anyone who disagrees with you is a paid WG
employee is both amusing and rather sad. It's a game, if you don't
like it as much as you seem to indicate or if you feel it's really
as fixed as you seem to think it is, you could always stop playing
or stop visiting the forums. - Voila! All the things that frustrate
you are now instantly gone.

that have to do with posting on private forums that are bound by

Here's a deal for you. Don't worry you don't have to accept as

Link on message: #11443985
Ectar: The Churchill top gun is pretty much identical to the gun that that
Pz IV used to have when it was able to mount the Schmalturm
turret at tier V. It's a great gun, the drawback is that it's
now mounted on a slow tank. I found the Churchill fairly ok to
play and it's only negative point was it's slow speed. It's
pretty strong for it's tier and one of the first heavy tanks that
people will run up against.

Ectar: I think this thread has ran it's course. To the OP - We have
a very similar amount of battles played and very different
stats. Personally I try to focus on doing damage and
hitting my shots. With damage will come exp and victories as you
whittle down the enemy team's HP. A good goal is to do at least
your HP in return damage to the enemy. For tier 9 and 10 you want
to be looking at doing anything from 2000+ damage in a game.
Once in a while try looking at what you're doing in matches
and where you're going wrong. There is no secret anti-win wargaming
system to make you lose. Hitting shots for example is something
purely you control and if I could give you once piece of advice
only, it would be to work on your accuracy as I feel that's what's
bringing you down. As you've never came back to this thread
and other players have not very kindly picked apart your stats, I'm
going to close the thread. To get better you have to want to
improve and you have to also accept and identify where you're
going wrong. There is no special WG system holding people back.

staff have 60%+ win ratios on their accounts? Why was I 58% win
ratio and now about 55%? Could it be that I simply play less
so I'm not as sharp as I once was or know the maps and enemy
vehicles like I did? Could it be I used to platoon and now
play solo which generally make it a bit harder without 2 good
players to co-ordinate with? Should I play more, platoon more and
put some time into working out what I do wrong? Or is it
because MM is against me and rigging all my matches to make me lose
now, so I can't do anything to get better? The thing about a
random system, is that when you look for a pattern or expect
results, you're never going to get the answer you want because
there is no pattern. Flipping a coin 10 times and getting heads
each time, doesn't mean the next time will be tails because "the
other result is due". That's something called "gambler's fallacy"
which I'd recommend you read about as it's very interesting to show
how people perceive random things as being predictable. No
one ever says the MM is rigged when they win 10 times in a row.
But if you lose 10 times in a row it's rigged? Funny
how that works.

thanks for the entertainment. Same way people tip a street
performer (or don't). People are free to spend their money how
they choose, starting a thread telling others how to spend their
money, then asking for the thread to stay positive is a bit
redundant. If you don't wish to give money to streamers,
then don't. Just like if you don't wish to give money to

waiter/hairdresser/taxi driver. You have the freedom of

preferences. Do what you want with your money and let others do as

many just dont bother coming to forums and play the game missing
out all this drama and ect.. Ectars post from Scorpion
thread copy pasted: Ectar: Can this just stop please? The constant misquoting of
me is becoming rather lame. "Ectar said that almost
all of opinions, criticisms and suggestion that come off forums are
ignored" I said the complete opposite and even explained how
that feedback is gathered...
Ectar, on 08 September 2015 - 11:01 AM, said: They're aware of the forum feedback yes, It gets filled out each
week by all region teams and I can assure you if a team misses it,
the Producers question why. Forum feedback isn't the only decider
in packages and promotions however. The amount of revenue generated
and amount of people who buy the package is obviously a major
factor. That's not to say forum feedback is ignored, simply it's
not the only driving factor in what makes up a package.Ectar: This is getting just silly now with players twisting
my words when it's there for everyone to see. I have never
once said forum feedback is ignored. What I have said quite clearly
is that forum feedback isn't the only deciding or driving factor in
making any decisions.

that works. I addressed the comment from the player who was
trying to claim that the majority of our players are children who
rely on their parents to buy them stuff. It was a broad
generalization of our playerbase with zero evidence in order to try
and add weight to an argument. Something people do all the time on
the forums when they use terms like "all players" or "everyone" or
even "the whole playerbase". The whole playerbase is made up
of a hugely varied grouping of people with different incomes,
desires, ages and attitudes. To try and lump them all together or
expect that each promotion we do will cater to all of them, is a
fairly unrealistic expectation. I really am sorry that some
people find this package as unattractive. This will happen no
matter what is offered depending on what people are willing to
spend or why they think of the content. The conversation we're
having here isn't any different to the same ones we've had on
previous premium shop bundles and I'm sure it won't be the last one
for future bundles that people feel are not within what they're
willing to spend.

years. It's only available as a prize in contests or as a give-away
at major events like Gamescom, PAX, Igromir, Tokyo Games Show etc
etc. We have no current plans to sell the Type 59 or make it
available to purchase ever again. The Scorpion will likely be
available to purchase at a later date, it's unlikely that the
package would be cheaper than what's offered now. It's highly
unlikely it would ever be part of a Marathon mission.

special. Now look at how many people posted to say they liked it
too. Look at the forums in general and see how many positive
threads there are to negative ones. If you took the forums at face
value you'd think everyone is upset at something yet there is still
over 150,000 in EU logging in playing daily. Sadly it's human
nature to make a bigger deal out of when something goes against us,
than when it goes our way. - Get the service you expect in a
restaurant and you tell no one. Get better than
expected service in a restaurant and you tell about 2 people.
Get bad service you tell about 8. The Scorpion isn't
intended to be a regular premium shop feature, which is why it
wasn't introduced for just it's normal price. Players ask for
unique vehicles to be introduced and players also want rare
vehicles. We can't offer that to players AND make the vehicle
commonly available (via a marathon mission) or available for a low
price. By doing either that kills the "unique & rare"
association to the tank. I can understand the frustration
about the additional content to the package, but it's content that
can be used and well, it's not 100 Large Repair Kits
.

owner of the blog, claiming 2 people were fired when both people
had actually been offered jobs in their home country. The person
who wrote the article had no idea what they were talking about, had
zero sources or evidence to back up their claims, and were
just looking to create drama. It's very common in the games
industry for people to be head hunted or approached by other
companies who are looking to expand/recruit. The recent
recruitment message is because we are actively recruiting atm
due do internal promotions, department expansions, and also
due to some people leaving due to accepting a job
offer in their native county. I know people like to
think that working in a different country is an adventure (and it
is to a certain extent), but when you don't speak the language and
the standard/cost of living is not what you're used to, it's pretty
common for people to get home sick and want to return back to a
country where there isn't a language barrier. Buy hey! Lets
not have that get in the way of the rumor mill. It's not like every
major games company in Europe is currently looking for staff either
right?

is to look at the entire month. This thread is created just
because another region gets to buy a tank a few weeks before
another. This is where we are now. "They have it now, I want it
now, it's not fair." Whenever you get what's assumed to be a
"great" special, you're not satisfied the follow week unless it's
the same amount of content or better. I agree servers should be
more in-line with each other but you have to also appreciate there
needs to be a limit before what's offered reaches a point where
expectations can't be maintained. When the content/features we
have in the game to generate profit becomes totally
redundant as players expect that content to be freely
available to them every month or two, that's not a good
situation.

I appreciate the desire to get something for free that you'd
normally have to pay for. If players expect a new premium tanks
every month or two we'll quickly run out of tanks and the premium

money. I'm sorry but this assumption that each month you

give, the more people expect you to top it each week and you end up
in an arms race of constantly having to offer more and more to keep
people satisfied and what is then starting to be offered
becomes ridiculous.

take the appropriate action. For most normal instances of chat
violation however, players should use the in-game system. Tickets

circumstances. It's never an easy balance as for all
the major chat violations of nationalist or racist comments, there
is at least 10 minor violations of someone saying something like
