Ectar: Greetings players!   On the 29th of March we are planning to visit the Military Museum, Belgrade in Serbia. This is one of the many events we have planned for this year. To help us with a rough estimate of how many players would come along to this event, please can you reply to the thread we can created in the Balkan forum section here.   As soon as we have more details about other European events this year we'll let players know. We have various different plans/destinations available for us and will try to visit as many of you as possible!    *Please note any off topic posts or attempts to derail the Balkan section will be removed.

Ectar: Pozdrav igrači!   Wargaming.net 29. 3. planira posetu Vojnom muzeju u Beogradu, Srbija. Zdravo ljudi,
Obavesticu vas cim budem imao preciznije podatke o svemu.

View Postradius77, on 21 February 2014 - 09:27 AM, said: Can anybody tell me what a system is that weekend goes from Saturday to Monday ? Jewish, Russian, Eskimoo or Arabic ? I thought that EU server should have "European weekend" from Friday to Sunday. Is it that complicated for WG ?

Ectar:     Weekend events in EU are normally Saturday to Monday. In January the dates changed slightly due to a global event where players got 2x exp for every win on a Sunday.  We're always monitoring the peak amount of players and if there is a noticeable change in player numbers then the special dates may change as a result of this. It's very common for most people to be going out with friends/family on Friday as it's the end of the week and people don't have school/uni/work on Saturday. They go out and have fun then on the weekend they may play online.  On Monday it's the first day back after the weekend and most people stay in and look to relax after their first day back at school/uni/work after the weekend (And get over the Monday blues). Obviously for some/many players those examples may be different, but there is no getting away from the fact that our peak server numbers have all been recorded on Monday evenings.

View PostWorkingasIntended, on 14 February 2014 - 12:05 PM, said: Why is it too early to talk about compensation Ectar? Surely it would be very good customer service and restore a great deal of faith in WG if you were to say that you accept the situation is unacceptable and people who have paid for premium time WILL be compensated somehow.

Ectar:   Because first of all the problem needs be resolved. Sometimes issues are more complex than they initially seem and it's not always once aspect that is the cause. If it was an obvious reason and was within our power to fix immediately, I assure you it would have been done. Again I can't honestly believe some players think we're deliberately doing nothing over this issue.  Making promises that can't be kept is a terrible way to do things. As I said earlier as soon as we have info to share with players we will. We've never said there won't be compensation but the same respect we never said we will. It's not cool to try and trap someone into saying something they don't have the authority to comment on. Say for example we gave players compensation regardless of where the issue lay. As soon as any issues come up again in future, everyone immediately expects compensation regardless of where the fault lay as that's what happens last time.   Player A said they couldn't play for 4 hours Player B said they couldn't play on Saturday night. Player C claims they've never been able to play for a week.   Each player may have been affected differently - Measuring the impact something like this has caused isn't easy which is why we're going through the forums and support tickets to see how widespread/reported this is. With something like premium days, it doesn't just to players with premium accounts, it's given to everyone. Taking a decision like that isn't something that is done lightly and certainly isn't something that should be looked as a knee jerk reaction or a quick fix.

We have plans to visit about 10 different countries this year and well, we have to start somewhere. Brynd will be visiting Italy next week and we will have another event organised before May, likely in a Balkan country such as Serbia.  We also are preparing plans to visit Hungary in May.   Events in Turkey, Spain, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, France are covered by their own language teams and there is no need to ask about them here.   *Please also note any off topic posts or attempts to derail this thread will be removed.

Before i could pick on which day to use it and of course pick the day when i have most time to play.   But i guess logic is not a strong side of wot. Or at least the option to choose, but we wouldn't hope that much now won't we?

Ectar:   Logically we want everyone to be able to get the 1 day premium.   Whilst a code suits your need it doesn't help all the other players who didn't know about the code. Normally the only way players know a code is active is via a portal & forum announcement. The portal can account for anything up to 40% of players depending on what articles have been posted or if a newsletter has also been sent. The forums account for anything up to 15% of players (And that 15% is part of the 40% who check the forums).    Whilst one option is suitable for you, it's not something that the majority of players can benefit from which is why it was changed. Sadly bonuses can never be tailor made for individual needs.

Ectar: A day's premium has always been a feature of the Valentine's event   Valentines Day 2013 all players got 1 day premium - http://worldoftanks.eu/en/news/44/valentines-day-bonus-code/   Valentines Day 2012 all players got 1 day premium - http://worldoftanks.eu/en/news/44/valentines-code/   Now with the new reward system it can be added directly in-game so everyone gets it, not just the people lucky to know about the code.   The lag issue is something that is an ongoing investigation. It's to early to talk about things like compensation until we're sure for example the issue is resolved and won't recur. I assure you it's something that is a top priority for us to fix.

View PostAbusemtex, on 13 February 2014 - 05:50 PM, said Ectar, maybe there is more to say than just "We are working on it"? Because out of WG staff that just sounds like "atm we have our weekly bbq - Pawel please get us more beer". Community has lost most of its faith because of lies and lies and lies allready so maybe you could post something useful on the portal main page so everyone can at least see you take the whole situation serious.

Ectar:   There is no lies sir but just look at the example of what's happened here. We've been asked to reply about a specific issue, Iv'e done so and you've came back and said "We don't believe you"   Now I can't really say much else to change your opinion here, and I can't talk about things that haven't been discussed yet (like potential compensation for the issue) because as I said earlier we're in tyhe process of gathering feedback to see how many players this has affected and how hot a topic it's become. I'm being sincere as possible here when saying I know exactly how frustrating things. You should all know by now that I don't dance round an issue or sugar coat. I'll be as upfront and honest as I can with the information available to me.    Regarding the 1 day premium that people are assuming is an apology for the lag... Valentines Day 2013 all players got 1 day premium - http://worldoftanks.eu/en/news/44/valentines-day-bonus-code/   Valentines Day 2012 all players got 1 day premium - http://worldoftanks.eu/en/news/44/valentines-code/   Again I understand that players are frustrated but please guys don't twist stuff to suit your needs and incite other players when your reasoning/claims are unfounded. Resolving the lag issue is a top priority for us, no one and I mean no one want's frustrated customers or people to stop playing the game. That's insane to think that way.  As soon as we have more info about the issue we'll let everyone know.  This thread about the Valentines special however isn't really the best place to continue this topic.  I'd like to ask players to raise any questions on an already existing topic on the General Discussion section such as this one  http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/355240-new-patch-and-lag/

Why do we have so much it and what are they going to do about it and when? Are there any ongoing operations regarding it? Or do they even care? I have noticed that very large portion of players have stopped playing this game because of the lags.

Ectar:   The lag issue is being investigated and a dedicated team are working on it. We're measuring our support tickets and also collecting feedback on the forums from all language teams regarding how many threads have been created or hijacked with players reporting this issues/talking about it. We appreciate and understand your frustration in this matter as it affects us too if we play some games. I can assure you I heard all about it this morning from the players in a match I was in and experienced it first hand. As I've said in the past with an issue like this that goes on for a couple of days, any response from us unless it's "The problem is fixed" is met with sarcastic comments or "Just tell us when it's fixed"  - If we say "No updated today, it's still being investigated" there is always players who will say "OMG, just tell us when it's fixed" along with players saying "OMG why don't you tell us anything" if we don't post.   We're aware that this is a key issue affecting multiple players and we're working to get the issue resolved as best as we can from our side of things.

The result is then excluded.   Players don't need to report platoons like this, we can see it all in the data that is pulled which is why the results take a few days to process

Ectar:   Normally for any art of war contest the rules state that premium tanks are excluded. This time around as the Chi-Nu Kai was only recently added to the game we felt it was ok to include the tank. The rules didn't state it was excluded.

"   and when i reloaded the page it is now saying "from 24thJanuary 06:10 until 26th January 06:00 CET (GMT+1)." so special that lasts two days ? Its good special tho,but 2 days ?

Ectar:   The special runs for 3 days as normal.  The 3x first win is only active for the first 2 days. On the 3rd day you have 2x exp for every victory.   Tank discount and missions run from the 24th to the 27th.     *Semi important edit*  Also please note the win for mission "It’s Too Hot Here!" and the win condition for  "Summer maps"- this is intentional. Whilst the event is a themed event for a historical desert encounter we felt that only rewarding players for doing matches on desert maps was a bit of a tall order as they are the least common map type. To make it more enjoyable we switched the condition to be on the most common map type which in turn makes it easier for players to complete.

Ectar:   Double exp for all victories is Sunday only.  This does not stack with the triple exp for first win as that bonus is not active on Sunday.   Remember Commanders if you don't want to use the Large Repair Kits or the Automatic Fire Extinguishers:   15 Large Repair kits will sell for 150,000 5 Automatic Fire Extinguishers will sell for 50,000

Ectar:   The game was first released in Russia. Russia is a huge market with a massive population The game is created by a Belorussian company and was designed to appeal to that market. Russia is a "tank nation" in multiple cities and towns you can find monuments to tanks and stationary decommissioned vehicles. Players are generally more loyal to developers/companies from their own nations/regions. MMO's for example like Aion or MapleStory are huge in Asia but not so big outside that Market.  CrossFire is a huge FPS game in Korea but in EU and NA everyone still plays CoD, Battlefield and CounterStrike as their main FPS games. The free to play element draws in lots of players It was released in RU with a huge marketing campaign and continues to be promoted strongly.

From 9 to 18 September 1939 Bzura greatest battle fought during the Polish Defensive War in 1939. On the night of 15 on September 16  1939 Malopolska weakened army smashed Hanoverian picked armored regiment SS "Germania", earning numerous military equipment and motor.

Ectar:   Take a look back at the events that occurred on this day during World War II.   The "On this day" articles are something we have only started to do this year. It would be a bit pointless to write and article about what happened "on this day" and then write about an event in September. There is various historical events that are significant to different countries for a variety of reasons. We won't always be able to write about each and every one.

Ectar:     Then flip that 180 and look at other games with different clusters where the Devs only speak English and the main spoken language of the game is English. *edit* What i'm trying to say with this and what a lot of people forget is that development and player-base wise, World of Tanks is the complete reverse of what you normally get with any other massive online game.

Ectar:   You're saying we are to ignore our other supported languages and only to include 1. That's what we have atm and it's what many players feel is unfair. Remember the most common spoken language within our player base is Russian, not English. There is an active dev Q&A for our largest community already. There is almost 4 times as many Ru players as there is EU players and about 50% of those EU players don't speak English.   It's a double edged sword and no answer is right until we have senior developer staff with available time who are fluent in both English and Russian along with some system to allow all of our EU players to be able to field questions. We're not going to ignore communities just because they don't speak English because that system is the exact system you're complaining about because atm the only direct Q&A is for Russian speaking players! :blinky:

Ectar:   reddit is a fansite and AMA's for various games are pretty common there. We will be interacting more with our fansites and contributors over 2014. We will also be reviewing how our current Q&A process works and if this is something that is still seriously viable when supporting the questions from 7 different supported (and over 5 unsupported) languages and having the replies answered and translated within a viable period. There is some things happening behind the scenes that may better support this and provide the proper time and focus required, but that's a different conversation for another time.

Ectar:   Someone has made a purchase in our store and after the item has been delivered, the payment has been removed. To resolve this issue this is between the receiver of the goods, the person who paid for the goods, and our support team.   If a player feels they have been wronged then by all means they can contact their local consumer rights representatives who will give then QUALIFIED advice. In this situation I would also advise players to refer to our terms of service, specialfically section 8.4 which will be helpful in this situation.- http://worldoftanks.eu/en/content/docs/terms_of_service/   I am now going to close this thread as it's gone on too far.   In short, please seek qualified advice when dealing with financial issues. Payments for goods that then involve cashbacks is always a messy situation and your first point of contact should always be to the person who claimed to have made the payment in the first place. After that check with your local consumer protection dept to know your rights and THEN pursue them, making sure to know the policies of the company you're dealing with.
