would be "by the end of the year". I thought it very imminent. Are
we going to get the T34 replacement first, or are these two tanks
(T34 and T30 replacements) coming together?
Also can you confirm or disclaim the rumour, started that the developers are unsure that the T34 will become a premium tank AT ALL, but simply a Tier8 regular tank??

2. Premium.

kloppstock, on 24 August 2011 - 04:11 PM, said: Overlord`s comment did not refer to the stats of the vehicle M103
but to the game stats (win/loss ratio and medals awarded). The
latter will be transferred from the current Tier IX heavy (T34) to
the new Tier IX heavy (M103), which has NOTHING to do with the
actual vehicle stats whatsoever.
But, if I may ask, Overlord, do you have an estimated ETA of the US heavy tree changes?
This question has been adressed multiple time on your blog and in the forums, and I would like to know if you could give any specifics which are more detailed than "end of year".
Thank you kindly and regards.
P.S.: Overlord, are you able to provide some screenshots of the M103 yet, since it's supposed to be pretty much ready?

with the T34, once these tanks get replaced these STATS will become
the stats for the M103. And the T34 will have a stat reset (Just as
if you researched and bought a new tank)

Overlord: There will be restrictions on tanks and modules available for a
particular battle. Most likely we will introduce point-based system
to balance teams, e.g. T-34-85 has X points, Tiger I - has X+Y
points. The number of vehicles per team can be different.

admin: That’s it! The show is over. Gamescom 2011 has come to an end and
this is the final chapter of World of Tanks @ Gamescom diaries.
It’s a bit sad to leave Cologne, because we feel like at home here,
but all-in-all, it’s been awesome. We’ve spent some hard yet good
time at Koelnmesse, we’ve met lots of our German and European
players tet-a-tet, and presented our new title which we’ll bring to
Cologne next year.

World of Tanks devs and WoT players at Gamescom Community Party
The results of the last day at the world greatest game industry expo appeared truly impressive for Wargaming.net team as we’ve received one of the Gamescom 2011 awards.
But we have our own awards to give! The last day of the Open Tournament had no changes in regulations but was pleasantly different prizewise. Today, not three but five players were rewarded for best results shown in battles. We are happy to congratulate the winners: Daniel aka Gies84 – best of the best; Johann aka i3ashownzz – second place; Daniel Icvzewina – third place. As all the previous top three winners, these guys were awarded a laptop, an iPad and a game set respectively. In addition, they were given radio controlled tank models. The same presents went to those who took places four and five. They are Moritz aka dopingman (familiar name, isn’t it?) and David Golonka. Congratulations to the guys!
Meanwhile, here’s more about expo’s outcomes.
Gamescom 2011 started with the strongest line-up in the history of the entertainment trade fair. Over 550 exhibitors from more than 40 countries presented 300+ games. Among them are both world-renowned brands and debutants. Tons of hardware news, mobile games, online and browser games as well as new motion games rolled into the expo and stunned game industry professional, media tittles, not to mention players visiting the expo. This year there were more than 250,000 of them!
Shortly you will get a chance to actually see the scale of this massive event with your own eyes. One of the upcoming Wargaming TV News Blocks will be dedicated fully to World of Tanks at Gamescom 2011. For now, we are saying bye. Time to pack up for the flight home.
Thank you for being with us at the expo! We had a really great time together! Russian Igromir is ahead. Soon we will be back with our new series of diaries.

this tierX gun as the only gun needs to have gold to become usefull
against other tierX tanks? But did you ever try the gold ammo (heat
round) for that matter on the is7 nose, you'll see how non-existant
that armor is lol, maus gun has an easier time getting through that
nose for some reason.

LiannaSilverwind: My limited knowledge of Clan Wars based on daily talks with certain
clans tells me that teams with 8-9 IS-7s are not that efficient
compared to teams with more balanced approach to both IS-7 (scout)
and T30 (damage dealer), plus artillery and Maus defense. Now E-100
loaded with gold has appeared to change things a bit.
I'd love to face team made only of IS-7 with more balanced team. Non-existant armor, average damage and low accuracy will provide many targets to shoot. But that's my personal preference.

certain mods, followed by a "this is a personal post, I'm a player
too". That should never happen, it comes across as staff being rude
to players. Mods should accept that they just can't get into
fights, at least not on the account that has moderator rights. Have
them use a different (player-only) account if they want to post as
players.

for about a year, So its undergone about 10 major rewrites since it
was first implemented back in about October 2010.
Now its pretty exact, detailed, and clearly covers the above.

Tanitha: The EU CEO will come in with his own plans ideas and way of doing
things. So how he likes things done, I have no Idea.
For NA however I'm their Lead CM there, I'm employed by and based out of the NA office, but I work out of and live in Australia. So this allows me to work the 100 hours a week that i do, and be online during AUS, US and EU timezones, + weekends, + dont disappear for events all the time. I like that system, and I hope NA office + the players do to.
I closed down the New Q&A thread a day after it opened, I wasn't happy with its wording, or how many questions were coming in and no answers were going out.
After I found out the topic was going to be just opened and left, and then closed and questions gathered, then answers coming in a different thread a week later. Then I made that clear in the NA thread with some edits and replies, and reopened it.

thread, not to mention his one-line reply, totally underscribes the
OP's point about what's wrong. It's so incredibly fitting. A player
writes an eloquent post about community management, diplomatically
citing what's wrong and how you can fix it by being active,
friendly and honest and the reply is an irrelevant one-liner that
answers nothing. Way to miss the point.
In contrast, it's nice to see Tanitha the admin simply drop in, reply that it's a good idea, elaborate a bit on the hopeful near-future improvement of EU community staff and then politely says goodbye.
Thats two f**king sentences and it's already pleased a few dozen people, including myself.
Then again, some of you have made some interesting points about business models. Let's just hope WG has the right idea in mind for the future. They will have to if they want to merge all these "Worlds of..." together.
You can ignore the community for a while and milk them like the sexy, stupid cows we are, but in this information age it will not take too long before your reputation turns against you.

Any idea why there is the "You Ask - We Reply!" thread AND a "EU Questions & Answers" thread when they are, I would have thought, the same thing. Having both I would think would increase the chance of repetition of questions and answers (so wasting Devs time) and also the possibility of different answers being given. Also, providing links within the EU thread's OP to these same threads on the US and RU (via a translation?) might be a good idea too.

Tanitha: To be fair, +1'ing posts by a non constructive reply, is against
the rules. There is the +rep feature for that that makes the forums
a lot neater. The op already has +200 rep for his post, that's a
much better way of agreeing with him than having 200 replies that
contain nothing extra.
I'd gladly reply with more than 2 lines, if I had more information to tell you. However, my position at the moment is more "Management". To be specific, I'm the Lead Community Manager (Head of External Staff) for the NA server. So in charge of the Mod, Wiki, News, Steam, Etc teams (external staff) + assist in community events such as competitions, Take the player concerns from the forums and send that off in a daily report, with player/forum/game stat's etc.. + a huge list of other managerial/administration type tasks.
However I'm not linked to the Belarus development team as such, so anything development wise, I'm not the one to be answering those questions at the moment. Hopefully those information lines open up more freely soon. At the moment most of that information comes from Overlord.

questions for a week, the most popular questions are then sent off
to the development team for answers. Then those answers will be
posted and the thread opened up again. It wasn't worded very well,
that was a issue I clarified and fixed on the NA server, but not
here. Sorry.

Tanitha: I will escape, and find my way back the the NA server!.
But seriously, I work on the NA server a good 100 hours a week, Although I can drop into Eu occasionally to help out where needed, And keep a Lil eye on the external staff teams here, Its not something I can do at a reasonable level. There's not enough hours in the week to effectively help out on EU as well as do my job on NA (sorry).
As for Belarus CM's a bulk of them are currently at the GamesCom in Germany at the moment.

admin: Today was definitely the craziest and the most amazing day of the
expo. Those willing to visit the exhibition were obliged to wait
for hours in front of the entrance gates as there were too many
people to be let in. Just imagine how huge the crowd was, as
Koelnmesse is immense! No exaggerations!

They'll hit them hard, no doubt!
Day 4 was totally awesome. Those who were working at the booth all day are dead tired but at the same time they look really ecstatic. They talked to so many old devoted players, they helped so many newbies to make their first tank steps, they simply had great time! It seems the same can refer to our today’s visitors. World of Tanks booth was as popular and wanted as never! First of all, the number of our open tourney participants has greatly increased. This explains the great results shown in the tourney. Two persons got 3180 experience in their best battles. Both of them were using VK 3601. To determine the winner it was decided to make them play one more battle. They eagerly did. Neither of them managed to get the same experience again but Constantin Struckmeyer aka xqlusive got more points and won a laptop! The second place was taken by Sebastian Sondermann who was one of the leaders for a while. Now he is the lucky owner of iPad 2. And finally the third leader with 2544 XP who was driving his Tiger II in the best battle was Stefan Schumman. His present is a gaming set.
Those were not the only winners today. World of Tanks main highlight of Day 4 was definitely the show match between WoT devs and the German team Panzerknacker. You surely have learnt the results by now. Panzerknacker proved stronger in the showmatch and left no hopes for the devs. They played four battles and all four were won by Panzerknackers.
Sharing their impressions after the match, Grimmblut, the captain, said that their victory wasn’t gained easily. On the contrary, first three battles (the one on Himmelsdorf map especially) they say they were really close to being won over. However they pulled themselves together and did their best to steal the victory from the devs. Grimmblut added they appreciated the developers’ choice of vehicles and their tactics were also fine. Anyway Panzerknackers appeared stronger today.
Along with the presents they got plenty of WOW! impressions of the expo and headed towards Friesen Bar were the community party is held tonight. By the way it is just the right time for us to go there too. That is it for today. Our final photo report from Gamescom 2011 will appear tomorrow.

Energizing Panther II with positive energy. A real Uri Geller.

'Where are the gals and prizes?'

'Found.'

'Oh, God, what's this? How do I use this?'

'I told ya, we'd better taken the hill!' 'Alex, what are you talking about? You've got a King Tiger and this is Himmelsdorf!'

'Okay, where are the prizes?'

Chiefs bate their breath.

Congratulations to the winners!
