The IS is more competitive in close range combat, give the tiger superior long range combat.  I've missed plenty of shots with the 88 that shouldn't have been even considering it's accuracy.  Check my sniper medals, I can aim fine.  Maybe chalk it up to lag.

Overlord: We are planning to change game economy to some extent in the near future. The following changes are possible:
1) Tier 7(8)-10 ammo will see increase in price along with repair costs for the majority of vehicles.
2) Credit payments for losses will be decreased, for victories - increased substantially.
3) In general average profitability is supposed to remain the same, but it will become more dependent on battle performance.

If so the game will buy a slot for you providing you have enough gold to do so.

Otherwise I dont see much reason in playing a german high tier tank...
[long post]

Overlord: If you are asking, why not.
The above statements can't be applied to all German tanks. It would be a hasty conclusion.
Sometimes it is difficult to compare. Who's stronger whale or elephant?
If you want my personal opinion on effectiveness of tier 7-10 tanks of each nation (this question bothers you most I guess):
HT:
tier 7 - USSR (IS) and Germany (Tiger I) are comparable. USA (T-29) is the favourite.
tier 8 - USSR (IS-3) and Germany (Tiger II) are comparable. USA (T-32) is the favourite.
tier 9 - USSR (IS-4) and Germany (VK4502) are comparable. USA (T-34) is a bit weaker.
tier 10 - USSR (IS-7) is the favourite. Germany (VK4502) USA (T-30) and inferior and almost equal to each other.
MT:
tier 7 - Germany (VK3002DB) is the favourite. USSR (T-43) and USA (T-20) and inferior and almost equal to each other.
tier 8 - USSR (T-44)is a bit stronger. Then goes Germany (Panther). USA (T-23) is a bit weaker than Panther.
I do believe that anything else is a sort of autosuggestion.
Regarding the problems you have mentioned, we are working on improvements to visibility/detection system. They are supposed to fix many of the existing issues.

Did you try F2 as per the screen?
It's only saying the checksum doesn't match what it is expecting.
Could be just adding the memory, or (unlikely) you blew the CMOS when you were inside the case. All it needs is resetting but if as you say the USB keyboard doesn't work in BIOS you may need to use a PS/2 keyboard to get past that screen (although it's odd that it displays a USB keyboard as being found).

A lot of usb keyboards and computers, need drivers to run usb keyboards. So yeah its found the usb keyboard, but since windows hasn't loaded, no drivers have loaded for it either. So as i said, just borrow a PS2 keyboard for a sec, or get a usb->ps2 connector. A lot of usb keyboards come with one in the box.
Once you have a keyboard that works without windows. its just a matter of entering the bios, clicking load optimal settings, save, and all is done.
Any further problems like this, replace the battery and repeat the above.

2. P.S. I do realise that I should have tried to ram him so his tracks broke, but I doubt he would let me get the distance in to get to those kinds of speeds.

Tanitha: Hi..
Ok ive pulled out 4 points of your post to discuss. So here goes.. : )
1. It shouldn't get more common as you suggested. because the rule isn't "no Tking" the rule is quite long and covers things like no intentional damaging, blocking, ramming etc etc etc.. So no it shouldn't get more common because all you have to do is vid-cap (fraps is good for that), or multi screen-cap it.. and they will be banned for a short period of time, which will progress quickly to a perma ban on repeat offenses.
2. No you shouldn't have tried to ram him, that's ban-able too (as above)
3. If you did bring up a discussion on specific players, the thread would have been edited/locked/dumped, and possible forum bans placed. So yeah not appropriate.. But if this thread stays on your original topic, I don't see any problems with it staying open.
4. Sure. I know that devs have stated the current system isn't perfect, and i know they are looking for ways, looking at ways, to improve the current system, it will be unlikely IMO that the current system will remain upon release..
Regards...

Tanitha: If you are using a USB keyboard. you might need to plug in a normal PS2 keyboard. Or get a USB -> PS2 adapter.
Some usb keyboards don't work very well until windows loads.
Apart from pressing f1 to enter the setup. There is usually a way by spamming the delete key during bootup..
Try both of those ways to enter the bios. You need to reset the bios settings (load optimal values) and save them, one way or another..
You bios isn't "bad", the information inside the bios checks as being bad...
You just have to reset the info in the bios.. there will be nothing wrong with the bios itself.

Tanitha: I'm pretty much a qualified computer technician. I have 4 diploma's in computing and owned/ran a warehouse and retail computer shops for 8 years up until a few years ago.. So qualified enough..
Anyway..
Your bios settings are stored by the power plug that plugs into your computer. Even when your computer is off, it still sucks power for many things, including storing the bios settings. When you unplug the power your battery is meant to take over, and continue to store the settings.
My first guess would be that it probably didn't.. Or,, your battery is dead..
There is other less likely things, like it got confused by the size of the ram changing.. Etc..
What I would suggest is fixing the bios settings. As it says on those photos, "Press F1 to enter setup" When you get into setup, there is usually a button called "load optimal settings" And a button for load default settings. both will do, but loading the optimal settings will get your computer running at its fastest speed, default usually doesn't.
Then just save the settings and exit..
Its as easy as that..
If you have continued problems like this (it loses the settings again) then you probably need to replace the battery. Some are soldered onto the board, so very difficult to replace properly. But most now days are like big watch batteries that you can easily replace yourself.
Try the above for starters. Regards.

These scripts looks for players that repeatedly enter battle then go afk and do nothing.
Stat's like 100 games played, 0 shots fired, for example, is obviously a botter/macroer/afk player..
But no you wont get banned for not killing a tank.

Teamkillers are being punished...
arrow
28.11.2010 04:41:34

Subject: Archives\Junkyard\Teamkillers are being punished...
Link on message: #257953

Tanitha: On the two topics..
1. No players aren't perma banned for one teamkill, or one team damage.
The fact that they are still playing 2 weeks later, is pretty irrelevant. They could have been game banned for 1-3-5-7 days for their first offense.
2. Reply Email.
The "email to YOU" was tagged low priority.
The email TO YOU, was simply a email stating they had acted on your report, and "that email" was low priority. After all that email is low priority, its just a "We got your report thanks"
What they label their email TO YOU, has nothing to do with how high a priority they label the incident or the act, the report, the offense, etc..
If for example you rang 911 and reported a guy with a gun breaking in, the police would prioritize it a high life threatening incident, and act on it immediately. 3 days later when they send you a letter saying, "thanks for your report, the case is now closed" That letter to you, Is low priority. It has nothing to do with the priority of the case..
But I agree, they should just send the emails out with a normal priority, people misunderstand the priority level on the email.. and get offended.. Its not the first time I've seen it. So it could do with being changed.. I'll try to get their email system to send out normal priority emails, so players don't get offended.
Report does work, shooting back is currently against the rules. The team killing system and rules will more than likely be reviewed and improved before release.
Thread locked discussion of players bans in the forums is not appropriate and against the rules.
Topic altered to be correct..

1. Cheaper 10.5cm ammo. Reduce it to 850 credits.
2. Increase speed of Tiger and Tiger 2 by 6km/h.
3. Slight damage increase for the 8.8cm.
4. Tiger 2 Henchel turret not getting damage from frontal shots by tier 5 tanks and below. Do not know if the mantle armour buff would actually do anything.
I don't see how a reduction of 0.01 in dispersion is going to do anything.

Overlord: 1. High-tier ammo is unlikely to become any cheaper. Moreover, with high probability ammo for tier 9-10 guns will see increase in price. For all factions of course.
3. In the current supertest version we didn't modify any damage values, only modified dispersion parameters.
4. +50% mantlet armor is a considerable boost. Anyway it won't make KT any worse.
0.01 dispersion decrease can be unnoticeable in one or a few particular battle(s), but in the long run it's not as insufficient as it seems.

This means all exp spent including free exp from the soft wipe. If you spent it on tanks have it as free exp on the account or have exp on elite tanks you get all of that. (hope that clears it up) "
I have a question about this: What if I have exp on a regular tank? For instance, I have 35.000 exp on an IS-3 that's fully upgraded except unlocking the IS-4. Should I just stop using it because I lose the exp anyway (the tank is not Elite yet)? After all, it would be a complete waste of time, since I doubt I'll reach the required exp to unlock an IS-4 before the wipe, and thus it would make more sense to upgrade another tank to elite or play an already elite one to gain exp I keep after the wipe.
It sounds an awful lot like powergaming but, besides a few matches for the fun of it, it would be a waste of time since I would literally gain nothing from the time spent using it.

MrVic: If you earned the exp on anything you get it back basically. You get it all back ;)

MrVic:
If you earned the exp on anything you get it back basically. You get it all back ;)

So now the Hummel will have 0.37 accuracy to the SU-8's 0.48 accuracy, without the SU-8 even having a firepower advantage to compensate.

MrVic: Remember these are still in testing and partial ;)
