As for the main topic. Is post 7.3 KV still going to be overpowered?
If not, why exclude it?
I think 22 points is a reasonable number, 21 is kinda similar, 20 and below would probably cause many 4 men teams, but may be interesting.
By the way, we never had a tier 4 tourney, consider that perhaps?

lord_farquad: Please notice that we stated if 7.3 is out then the KV will not be
banned.
There will likely not be any tier 4 or below challenges. However we have other things in store for that.

just checked and the wording is "A 10% bonus will be added to most
gold purchases.".
Was it changed? If it was, what's the difference between all and most?
Also, I'd rather see charity donations apply to all gold purchases in future, that'd be nice.

At some point we're thinking about live streaming the tank companies so you all can listen in.

interesting to see how teams deal with the huge map with wide open
spaces.
One thing, could you guys do a bit more advertising for these monthly 5v5 tournaments? Like a link on the launcher for registration and anouncements on the news feed. I feel like these tournaments are kind of under the radar. I didnt even know they existed until i joined SIMP in february.

lord_farquad: We do post news articles that show up on the launcher, but that's
only at the beginning of the month. This is just to get some
feedback from our tournament regulars to make sure it will be
enjoyable/competitive

I'd be fine with any of the point limits really, but if you want to get really interesting, why not go down even to something like 17 or 18 points. That really starts to stretch the acceptable numbers of top tier tanks, and forces value finds at the lower tiers. On the other hand that could also force some metagaming and find more 4v4 matches rather than 5v5. Anywho, just some random musings, I really like finding value in those overlooked tanks. Like in the March challenge, I think we were the only team that actually used KV-1Ss.

Desdichado, on Apr 27 2012 - 04:52, said: Nice map choice. I was having some sort of waking
nightmare that swamp would be chosen. Glad I was just
being paranoid.
Edit: I think it might be more interesting with a 21 or maybe a 19 point limit. 22 points results in a 3x T5 + T-50 + SU26/Wespe team that is an entirely too well balanced team to have any real competition. At 22 points you'll typically see this lineup along with a 4x T5 + M2/T2 Light rush lineup among the competitive teams. This will be too similar to the April challenge in my opinion, which was dominated by the higher tier equivalents of the same two setups. The point limit did not force any interesting compromises and 22 is functionally the same limit in this challenge.

lord_farquad: Correct me if I'm wrong, but if we change it to 19 it would look
something like 3 x T5 + Wespe + loltraktor, or 3x T5 + T4 light
which is only two variations. At 21 points it would be 4x T5 +
loltraktor, 3x T5 + 2 Wespe, or 3x T5 + 1 Wespe + 1 T22/M22.
With 22 points you could run either of the two you specified or 3x T5 + 2 Wespe + loltraktor, which means it has the same number of competitive variations that 21 points would have and more variations than 19 would have.
Is that correct or did I miss something?

Tanitha: They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Lest we forget..
Have a great weekend, and remember those who fought to help make it possible.

What does "50% discount on crew re-training" mean?
I just ask because the crew can be re-trained for free, credits or gold and often these sales are only for gold re-training - but here it isn't specified.
