The_Chieftain: According to Weber, the biggest problem they're having with the movie is Nimitz. A six legged cat sounds cool, but when writing the book he didn't have to worry about how the legs would provide locomotion in a reasonable, cat like manner.   Comic book out too.   Re the books, Honor does start getting a bit silly. As a result, she's starting to be relegated to a supporting character with more emphasis on the books on other people.

The_Chieftain: I was able to reach the gunner's controls from the TC's seat, but I acknowledge I'm not typical.    I am not aware of any failings by the US logistical system which necessitated the use of non standard fuel.

dance210:   Sorry! I didn't set the Skirmish playoffs on Friday (well, not all of them) so didn't do the seeding.   Would you mind telling me what team/group you are in, to make it easier? I'm guessing you were !Baked!, but well, would appreciate the confirmation :)

dance210: Reminder to all teams: Today is the LAST day to apply for the Entire week registration for Skirmish 24!   Any teams that are in Forming or Formed status will be automatically declined when Registration closes tomorrow.   There are currently 130+ teams that are in Forming and have the minimum number of players...please be sure to Apply for Tournament if you wish to play for the entire week 

dance210:   You'll get your gold as soon as it's finished. I'm working on it now, which means likely today or tomorrow.    As I mentioned last week in one of the league threads, gold should be done today, then go back to being processed on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

dance210:     After I posted it, I remembered the the points for the missing teams. Since I'm working on gold payouts for all the leagues, figured I would finish that first before correcting the standings (in case there are any other teams missing points) 

dance210:   Yes, I realized after I posted it that Wreak  Havok and Penguin Mafia didn't get their points from Friday. I've corrected on our sheets; however haven't had a chance to correct it on the tournament page. It may or may not be done today.

Hypnotik: Unfortunately not. I have a running total of province values, but ransacking would throw it off. All of the ransacks will be factored in, and it'll all be calculated at the end.   And yes, this is gold earned from the map, not the missions.

dance210:   WGL is the NA Wargaming League clan - it is a special Sheriff account set up for our pro-league players to promote the WGLNA Gold league, themselves and their teams. They are allowed to platoon with anyone they wish - from any clans, including WGL, as well as non-clan players.

The_Chieftain: Meh, I just ignore it. If I can afford to run the occasional gold round, and I feel it's important enough to the sway of battle at that time, I'll use it. I certainly don't get miffed if someone uses it on me. (In fact, since there seems to be a bit of a moral bounty on my head, I rather expect it).

The_Chieftain: Xlucine is correct. British (and Canadian) practice is that the second-ranking person in the tank is the loader. The theory is that (1) he is well placed to observe the running of the tank, and assist the commander in that function, and (2) being the other guy who can see out, he can also make good judgement calls on the tactical situation and aid the TC in that manner. New tankies in the British Army are trained either as drivers or gunners.   As an aside, when my tank went down in Iraq on a time-sensitive mission as part of a cordon on a cordon/search (Idler wheel fell off en-route), there was only a section of us. Instead of commandeering my wing tank, I simply told him to take over my spot on the cordon. (I briefed him well, so no difficulties there). I figured that there was little benefit to be gained by inserting myself into a well-working crew just for the sake of being present. I just chilled out with my crew until the -88 showed up.

dance210:   Gold is paid out per round victory. A team would need to win the round (2 matches) to earn gold.

The_Chieftain: I'll be damned. They're actually doing an Honor Harrington movie. 2017. They decided not to start with "On Basilisk Station" as the book is a little to much 'thinking to self", and are starting right with Honor of the Queen, Honor goes to Grayson. (Movie also named "Tales of Honor")   Still trying to figure it out. A game guide/instructions wouldn't go amiss. Tutorial isn't sufficiently comprehensive.

The_Chieftain: I just discovered the "tales of honor" (honor verse) iOS game. Working my way through the tutorial. Has anyone tried this game? Is it worth my valuable time?

dance210:   None of the leagues have gotten paid yet. Apologies to you all, but all leagues should be paid out tomorrow for the first 6 rounds.   After that, we should be back on our normal weekly schedule, with gold getting paid out on Tues. or Wed each week :)

The_Chieftain: SS, you would think so, but no. Apparently Hollywood are notorious for breaking rented tanks, so it's why a lot of private collectors refuse to work with them. At least, not cheaply.   That said, Fury had a contract with Bovingtin, which I thought included a cost per day of tank rental or some such. If it covers the cost of fixing the M4, I am not in a position to say.

Hypnotik: Since several people have also asked me for more details/a clarification on how to qualify for the Invitational Tournament from this event, I've posted a detailed explanation in the forum topic for the tournament announcement.

Hypnotik: A few people have asked me for clarification on the ways to qualify from the "Introducing Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean" section, so here's a step-by-step explanation of how the clans that qualify are determined:   When it says "Up to 5 Available Positions", that means that 5 is the maximum # of clans that get into the Invitational Tournament via this event. It is theoretically possible that fewer than 5 clans earn an entry during this event. Ties are explained below: Earn the most gold from the new provinces during this event This one's pretty simple. If you earned the most gold from the new provinces during this event, you get it! If the clan that does this is already qualified, we move on to the next clan until we have a new qualifier. Complete the "Rebuilding the Mayan Empire" mission and the accompanying bonus If you complete the mission and the bonus, you're in. If no clan does this, it becomes available for any ties that need to be broken within this event. If it does not get used by tiebreakers during this event, it'll be used in the last method of qualification (TBA) Complete the "Key Province I" mission and the accompanying bonus If you complete the mission and the bonus, you're in. If no clan does this, it becomes available for any ties that need to be broken within this event. If it does not get used by tiebreakers during this event, it'll be used in the last method of qualification (TBA) Conquer provinces with the most unique maps as part of the "Sightseeing" mission This is where ties may come into place. If there are more clans tied than available entries into the Invitational Tournament, then the clans involved in the tie will be in a round-robin tournament exclusive to the tied clans to determine who gets the available entries. If there are as many clans tied as available entries, they take them. If there are less clans tied than available entries, the remaining entries are carried over to the last method of qualification.
