TeriyakiTanker: Unfortunately there really isn't a straight answer to that.  Personally I would say for all around ease of use top to bottom go Russian for heavies, Russian for mediums, American for turreted TDs, Russian or German for non-turreted TDs, British for Arty, and Chinese for Lights.  Just my two cents.  Each line has stinkers and winners.

The_Chieftain: My company’s tanks in Iraq carried purely M830A1 HEAT-MP. (AKA MPAT). We debated trading with the neighboring company which had a standard M830 HEAT loadout, as MPAT does have sabot petals and is a bit problematic when firing in support of infantry, but never got around to it.   One tank did catch fire, and the ammunition detonate. The blow-off panels functioned as intended, in that the ammo door remained intact but the panels blew off. (as the fire started inside the tank when the tank was unmanned, before igniting the ammo, the vehicle was totally destroyed).   The propellant is less of an issue than warhead explosion. Remember, propellant burns much more slowly, it’s a long “whoosh” than a “boom”. If the ammo door is rated to protect against the detonation of the HEAT warheads, it will protect against the propellant fire as well.   Re: Iraqi troops. Although it is possible to lock the ammo door open (trip a circuit breaker part way through the process), I have no idea why you would do it. Opening the door with the knee switch couldn’t be any easier.   Re: Empress. I’m still advocating, the current push is for the Us premium TD, and I think it’ll actually get somewhere this time. However, a lot of what you want me to fight for, the decision has been made, and they aren’t going to change their minds just for me. The same can be said for the +/-1 matchmaking thing. It ain’t going to change any further. (Though in this case, I fully agree with Avalon on the subject, so have two reasons not to waste my time on it.)

TeriyakiTanker:   Basically you get money by causing damage, assisting damage, and killing other tanks.  You lose money by missing or not penning shots, taking damage (ie you need to pay to repair your ammo), using premium rounds, and consumables (especially premium consumables which are pretty expensive).   Looking at your record you have a slightly below average win rate, which isn't really that bad, but you also have a really below average damage and exp per battle.  This means you aren't participating well during the battles so you simply aren't earning a lot of credits.  Your survival rate is also just below 19% which means you are paying a lot for repairs compared to the most players.  I suck at staying alive and I still manage to live like 26% of the time.   My guess is that you are not appropriately aggressive so either you get to aggressive early and get killed or you like to stay too far in the back camping and don't get anything done until the game is already decided and basically you pen a couple shots and get killed.

Gnomon: Hey, everyone!  Hope that you’re having a great week!  Today, we’re starting the first Supertest of two new Polish tanks, the 50TP Tyszkiewicza (a Tier IX heavy) and the 60TP Lewandowskiego (a Tier X heavy). These tanks are quite compact for their class, with some hefty armor and great alpha. Their speed is a bit lacking, but with their great armor you don’t need to be overly speedy in a fight.  Being the Tier X, the 60TP Lewandowskiego has great all-around armor and a large caliber gun dealing 750 points of alpha damage.  In these tests, we’ve implemented both 130mm and 152mm versions of this gun and we will decide between them at a later point. What are the drawbacks? Well, the 60TP has mediocre penetration and limited mobility (due to a low engine power of 10–13hp per ton of weight). This tank will play as a compact ‘superheavy’ that can slowly push through enemy defenses using its armor to block damage while dishing out some hits with its high alpha gun.  60TP Screenshots         The 50TP Tyszkiewicza resembles its bigger bro in a few ways.  It’s not overly quick, but it is well armored and comes with an alpha that is fairly impressive for a heavy. A single shot from its 130mm gun will deal around 560 points of damage, and further testing will help us define the exact amount. Since the 50TP Tyszkiewicza is a Tier IX tank, its mobility and armor stats are lower than those of the 60TP. 50TP Screenshots        The current stats for the top Polish heavies are mostly reference marks used to define their gameplay roles, while still allowing for a very comfortable playing experience. We are going to try different values for alpha and also for mobility and targeting/aiming stats.After the test, the stats for the 50TP and the 60TP may likely change. We’ll look at the data and the feedback from you and introduce adjustments if needed. Be sure to keep an eye out on the news, and best of luck in battle!

The_Chieftain: To answer the question posed (unlike, apparently the other posts), I must admit to being at a loss to think of any occasion in which artillery engaged point targets with indirect fire firing AP. Even semi-indirect (think of it as self-spotting) is HE/WP that I can think of. Firing AP in direct fire was not unusual, either at fortifications or armor.   i’ve been around long enough to know better than to categorically say “it has never been done”, but as far as I am aware, it has never been done.

The_Chieftain: If anyone is wondering why i’ve been quiet recently, I went on paternal leave a tad earlier than originally intended. The homestead is basically on “survive until tomorrow” mode. Barely enough unreserved “awake” time to deal with mandatory household operations, let alone checking in on the forum. Still, some videos have been recorded ahead of time, so watch for more to follow.
