The_Chieftain: There is a report in the archives to a Tiger I going down to a company of Stuarts in North Africa. Took a while, they said, required surrounding the tank and peppering it every time the turret turned to engage a different tank

View PostDerViktim, on Apr 20 2018 - 18:56, said:   My understanding is that he was in the UK at the time the warrant was issued by Sweden to be questioned in regards to the aforementioned case (which has since been dropped by Swedish authorities). He was not afraid of extradition to Sweden. He was afraid that if he was detained by UK authorities, US authorities would request extradition to answer for his activities surrounding Wikileaks' publishing of US classified materials (I want to say in relation to the materials leaked by Chelsea Manning). He is still holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy because the UK warrant for questioning is still in place and Assange still is afraid of being extradited to the US. Even though Sweden dropped the case against him, US authorities still have an interest in questioning him about items he leaked YEARS ago, let alone everything he's done since.

The_Chieftain:   Well, where the UK is concerned, there is now the additional charge of skipping bail, whatever the legalese term for it is in the UK. That the Swedes have dropped the case is irrelevant to the Uk offense. A British judge ruled on that two months ago,

Lert:   Aluminium, same as the original barrel. It's very light, the elevation mechanism has no trouble keeping it at any elevation. I'm using a $150 RC tank from Heng Long as a base. While HL tanks are toys rather than models (IE, concessions have been made for playability / cost / durability at the expense of scale acccuracy / crispness of detail) HL is pretty high end for a 'mere toy' and are rather sturdy bases to work from. They like to make their mechanics beefy and reliable.

Thank you!   __WarChild__

Jambijon:   Those times are correct and they are just for the Italian Challenge, meaning after that time you will no longer gain progress towards the event.  However, there will still be an option to purchase the bundle for a short time after the event.  Once I get an exact time frame, i'll be sure to update you.

I have supported Wargaming financially and on the forums a lot and was supremely disappointed to learn that they no longer accept tickets... so again, it's good to know that you are saying that you still do accept tickets. But I gotta say... the wording doesn't seem confusing at all, it seems pretty clear:    under the physics abuse heading --  "In-game Reporting System # How do I report an in-game rule violation? With the player base getting bigger and bigger, we have decided to fully depend on our Automated Complaint System to deal with rule violations during gameplay...  This eliminates the need for a player to spend the time to send a ticket to report violations and leads to more violators receiving punishment... I do not think this is enough!
We fully understand the frustration of having to put up with players who are ruining the game for you and everyone around them on purpose. Most of us are gamers and we know how a troll, team-killer or just a rude person can make our gaming time miserable.
The Automated Complaint System is therefore an effective way of dealing with such issues, because it provides consistency, fairness and effectiveness to the whole process of dealing with players who do not respect our rules.
While the old system of punishments carried out by Customer Support agents might have been perceived as “more effective”, in fact it was not because of the sheer amount of reports coming in every day. With the implementation and full use of the Automated Complaint System, the punishments are more frequent and stack up, resulting in more severe punishments every time the player breaks a rule... Categories of the Report System - Unsportsmanlike conduct
Physics abuse (blocking you, pushing you,) revealing allied locations on the map, intentionally committing suicide and other forms of unfair behavior covered in our terms of service fall in this category.

I'll make sure the article gets updated, I think that one might be quite old, or rather the language is unclear. It's extra confusing when there's language (sort of) indicating that we only process in-game complaints for Physics abuse and there simultaneously exists a category in the ticket submission process for Physics Abuse. I have personally answered tickets and issued sanctions for Physics Abuse during my time in Customer Support, but I understand that "take my word for it" isn't exactly convincing.

If there's one thing for me to take away from this discussion it's that I'd like to sit down with our CS folks and figure out what requires additional clarification.

Lert: So I found a mod for World of Tanks that visually replaces my Fury with Oddball's M4A3E4. The accuracy of this mod is not quite 100%, but good enough to base my build on.

Image

Image

The next thing on my to do list was fabricate and apply front fenders and rear mudflaps. To this end I had to prepare my upper hull.

Unfortunately mine has a small casting error in the rear quarter:

Image

But that's easily fixed with some milliput fine. Just need to get my hands on some.

To prepare the hull I partially cut away the HL's front fenders, leaving enough 'meat' to superglue the new fenders on, also sanded the top of the 'meat' to assure a better bond:

Image

I took two pieces of remnant resin sprue and cut them to shape, then superglued them to the inside of the very rear of the upper hull, to have more 'meat' to superglue the mudflaps on to:

Image

The fenders mounted:

Image

And mudflaps:

Image

I know I said I'd leave the internals standard HL, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't do any work on them. No longer being able to use the BB function because of the thinner barrel I decided to cut away the majority of the BB unit, leaving just enough structure for the elevation mechanism. I also filled up the forward end of what remains of the BB unit's structure with coarse milliput for a better fit of the barrel when I put the whole thing back together again.

Image

This also left enough space in the hull to move the electronics block on top of the battery housing, instead of tucked away to the side of it.

Image

This makes maintenance a lot more efficient since now I can reach every cable without needing to remove the electronics block from its snug hiding place wedged between the battery compartment and hull side wall.

I've also removed the smoker, I do this with all my HL tanks. I strongly dislike the HL smoker, way too noisy, not proportional. This gave me enough space to fit a better speaker, too. So the sound is a lot better now.

This is going to be a shoe-string budget build, so no recoil unit or flash, no proportional silent smoker, just basic HL electronics, etc.

KRZYBooP: Howdy! "As I climb onto your Back I will promise not sting"-Megadeath. These Lyrics come to mind when facing off against the Skorpion in battle. Pro-tip, Yes it is going to pen you if you are looking down the barrel.  The M in T-34-85M stands for Meanie. I am sure there are better nicknames out there and would like to face off against more while on the battlefield.  March on down to the premium shop before these tanks leave.

Jambijon: Hey cocobabygirl,   Sorry you're having some rough games, believe me, it happens and it can be disheartening.  When I started I was completely terrible and clueless until I started platooning with players a lot better than me.  I realized I wasn't being patient or methodical, but rather just run and gunning.  The biggest thing I did to improve my games was understanding a tanks roles, armor, DPM, and overall capabilities.  I know its a crazy amount of information to intake and retain but after awhile, it starts to become second nature.  Another thing I did was to play "forgiving" tanks.  So tanks like the American heavy line or the Russian heavy line.  I'm sure you've tried most of this before, but just wanted to let you know what helped me.

However I'm not that aware of all the differences between the two platforms and would like a couple questions answered. 1.Any Difference with crew training? 2.Any Core Mechanic differences? 3.Any Gamepad support? If there's anything else you all think I should be aware of I would love to hear it thanks.

Jambijon:   Hey libarykeeper483!   Welcome to PC!  Thanks for sticking with us.  Yes, there is quite a lot of differences between Console and PC. 1. Crew training is more complicated in PC but its easy to understand once you get familiar.  So in console, you essentially have 1 crew member and you have a bunch of different choices when it comes to skills/perks.  However with PC, there are different "Classes" of crew members.  Each crew member is categorized by there specification - Commander, Driver, Gunner, Loader, and Radio Operator.  There are skills which can be researched for any crew and then there are Perks which is class specific.  That's a very general breakdown, but you can check out some articles to help you out: https://worldoftanks...ent/guide/crew/ https://worldoftanks...qualifications/ 2. It would take me far to long to write out the different changes with mechanics so i'll go over some basic, but important ones.  Sorry if I missed any, but hopefully the community can help out until I can get a more detailed explanation for you. There is friendly fire! The physics is a little more in depth, tanks can flip over or on there side Consumables like the medkit, and repair kit will go on cooldown 90 sec rather than be "used" 3. Unfortunately, there isn't any officially supported game pads, but there maybe a way to use third party software to map the controls. Thats something you would have to look for on your own.  As a personal opinion, I rec commend giving the ole keyboard and mouse a try.  I used to only play console until I was able to afford a decent build so I understand the change can be uncomfortable for a while.  I would say I'm more accurate with a mouse but I do like the pressure sensitivities controllers offer.   I hope this helps out and again, welcome!  Have fun out there!

DomoSapien:   Once you reach a certain number of reports, your account shows up in our systems. We then investigate the reports and take action based on volume and context. I think World of Warships might do it differently than us, however. Slight variations in policy between products.

DomoSapien:   Reading back through his thread, you'll see the Chieftain said that "unsportsmanlike conduct" is still reported through the in-game system, not Physics abuse.

Jambijon: Hello Tankers! If you have yet to make it through the T110E5 line, I highly recommend you do since there is currently an “On Track” event active!  The T110E5 was my first Tier X and I it is still my favorite tank, even after the balancing. On to the fun stuff.  So with the on track going on, I thought it would be a good idea to share my experiences with progressing through the line.  I’m just going to go over from tier 6-10 and for warned, this is just my personal experience so bear with me. Configuration comparison of different loadouts.  *Crew bonuses or equipment modifiers not included on all comparisons. Tier VI M6: Load out comparison  Pros:Quick acceleration (when upgraded) Excellent gun reload and DPM (2nd 76mm or 90mm) Armor is fantastic when going against same tier or lower Able to hold a bottleneck pretty wellCons:Side armor is pretty bad, so HE/Arty does quite a lot of damage Traverse speed is very slow Terrible accuracy when shooting on the move Be bottom tier is really rough.  Best to play a supporting roleMy research path:Tracks 76mm Gun M1A2 (skipped A1) Engine Turret 90mm Gun M3 RadioMy main strategy with the M6 is to find a bottleneck and hold it.  The 76mm is decent if you are top tier.  Any other situation just use the 90mm.  If you catch a tank out in the open, track them and then punish with your excellent reload.  It’s one of the top armored tier VI besides the Japanese O-I.  Overall it’s a really solid tank that is pretty forgiving.  This is why it’s used in tier VI strongholds quite a bit.  Just don’t get on the wrong end of a KV-2. Tier VII T29:Load out comparison          Pros:Hull down monster!  105mm Gun does good pen and excellent damage Turret armor is amazing Great gun depression (-10)Cons:Hull armor isn’t anything to write home about, but with the right angle you can definitely bounce some shots. Not very accurate, especially with the 105mm Stock engine is incredibly slow Cupola is constantly targeted and is pretty thinly armored.  Shake that turret! My research path:Used M6 90mm gun Tracks Turret 105mm Gun EngineOh the T29.  I’m confident when saying, I think this is the best heavy for tier VII and it’s a tank I didn’t sell because I liked it so much.  Your primary role is to hold choke points and get somewhere what you can go hull down.  Also, I would also use this tanks amazing gun depression and “peak a boom” enemies over a ridge line.  I made it a priority to get the 105mm before anything else.  However, it might be a good idea to try and get the engine upgrade because the stock engine is painfully slow.   All in all, a fantastic heavy beast which I use for a lot of my heavy missions. Tier VIII T32: Load out comparison     Pros:When upgraded, its turret is almost impenetrable from the front Excellent gun depression/elevation Front hull armor is decent, angled better than its predecessor Very good view rangeCons:Not a huge upgrade from the T29 Stock turret armor is abysmal and cupola is more noticeable than the T29 Gun accuracy, DPM, subpar penetration Shot trap under the mantletMy research path:Tracks Turret 105mm (already researched from T29) Be sure to unmount it from the T29 so you don’t have to pay for another one when mounting on the T32 EngineThe T32 does not hold the momentum of improved meant like the T29 did after the M6.  It actually falls short, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad.  The upgraded turret armor is fantastic and makes it pretty easy to hold flanks.  Other than its spotting range and turret, you can pretty much just play it like the T29. Tier IX M103:Load out comparison  Pros:Turret rotation greatly improved from T32 Great base pen, dmg, and accuracy (Stock/upgraded) Tracks seem to absorb a lot of hits Sloped frontal armorCons:Side armor seems nonexistent Turret is not nearly as durable as predecessors Easy to ammo rack Lower glacis is a huge targetMy research path:120mm T122 Engine Tracks Turret 120mm M58The M103 is played very differently then you may have been used to earlier in the line.  With the turret and higher gun depression it isn’t really a stay in one spot tank.  The gun is awesome so it should be more of a heavy support tank.  Almost played like a “heavy medium” style.  Don’t get me wrong, it can still bounce, you just have to be a little more careful with positioning since it’s not as forgiving. Tier X T110E5:Comparison of previous tanks vs T110E5  Pros:Incredibly strong frontal armor, turret and lower plate Very high pen, fast reload, high DPM, great accuracy/gun handling, and depression It is very mobile for such a heavily armored beastCons:Like the M103, the ammo rack is easy to hit Side and rear armor are made of paper Two weak points that are well known on the lower plate Balance update in 9.17 reduced the cupola armor You made it!  As I stated in the beginning of this thread, the T110E5 is my favorite tank hands down.  Update 9.17 did make the cupola easier to pen, that doesn’t mean its made out of paper.  There is still some armor up there.  I like to play the E5 as an “Active Heavy,” meaning I sometimes will like to go hull down and then reposition more frequently.  It’s pretty mobile, so flanking is very satisfying.  Also, if you feel your team has enough heavies, you can roll with the mediums. Okay, so that was my general experiencing running through the T110E5 line.  You may know most of it, if not all, but I think it’s good to have it has a visual reference for someone still progressing through the line.  Side note, watching Quickybaby’s “Tech Tree Showcase” for the T110E5 was super helpful as well.  Just keep in mind this was done over a year ago and some things may have changed in terms of balancing.Quickybaby: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/121601275 I hope everyone has a good day and let me know if you have any questions!

I've gotten mastery badges YEARS before you thought up this "reward emblems" mechanic. why don't I have "M"s for my mastered tanks?   Its not like you have to take my word on which tanks I've mastered, it's right there in the service record.

DomoSapien:
The whole point of the mastery emblem missions is that you have to get a mastery badge within a specfic timeframe. If you got a Mastery emblem for every mastery badge, the emblem wouldn't be special at all ;)

DomoSapien:   To my knowledge, it has always been base XP for mastery. Otherwise free players would be at a substantial disadvantage.

DomoSapien: I was always under the impression that they do not stack, but rather it 'swaps' between the optics and binocs when the binocs kick in.
