time speaking with us? Seems really out of character for a forum
moderator but absolutely appreciated. Any chance they will
give you a ban hammer?
dance210: I'm not a forum moderator in the sense that my time is
focused on responding to any and all forum reports. I'm more of the
type that gets to play with the shiny ban hammer and layeth the
smack down on anyone misbehaving as I do my day job - reading
player feedback and interacting with the community. My boss has
actually told me that I need to spend more time with all y'all

now opened I think 6 - 8 support tickets and provided all of the
requested information, over and over. Today I received an
answer from Kyle Fisher where he basically says that the
PingPlotter output shows latency to be introduced by 2 Internet
backbone providers (I have no idea where he sees this as the 2 he
points out are running 27 and 57ms, respectively), that I need to
talk to my ISP, and he wanted to make sure I knew my PC isn't
directly connected to the NA EAST servers. Hmmmm. My
reply was rather curt -- but the message still the same: The
latency that my plotter output shows is being introduced by the
last leg of the network right before the NA EAST load balancer
(login-p1) That device is using an IP address right out of
WG's Internet provider IP block, making this directly under the
control of WG. What is striking is that device mysteriously
disappeared from the path a couple of weeks ago for about 24 hours
-- then re-appeared. I could start taking big guesses
as to what that device is doing - but I would rather
not. Whatever it is doing, WG needs to put something in
place that has more ummmph. (that is a technical term, btw)
Ummm, this isn't considered ban speech, is it??
dance210: I will be completely honest - I am not a tech wizard, so
reading a PingPlotter is not my forte. However, Saffr0n is a tech
genius (at least, compared to me) and he's working with me to get
and analyze the data. Iff you could shoot me your ticket
number (forum PM is fine) I will run it by him tomorrow and see if
he can take a look. Thanks!
