The_Chieftain:   Which skill? The ability to place rounds on specific parts of your enemy? Or the skill involved in being a member of a team which co-ordinates maneuver (Movement relative to the enemy) in order to place overwhelming effective fires on them?   Here's an example. The US Army's marksmanship standards are, compared to many other militaries, relatively low. Go take the top nine civilian marksmen at the National Rifle Championships at Camp Perry. These guys don't miss at a half-mile. Put them on the field against a squad of nine fairly competent US Army soldiers, and see who wins. The difference between winning and losing a team contest isn't purely a matter of how good any individual is at any one task, as the soldiers who are trained to work together and supplement each other will usually be able to defeat the group of nine individuals, unless the individual skill difference is so ridiculously huge that you're looking at a team of Legolases shooting a bunch of orks.   Or, if you want to take a different tack, a good team is one which implements tactics which reduce the effect of Murphy. Any strategy which relies on things going right is not a reliable strategy. As long as randomness is not so bad that a norm cannot be reached over the duration of a match, the ability to withstand the effect of luck's fickle fate can be the true determinor of the great plans executed by good teams.
