Draschel:  Don't hope for your team to help over anything. Do not place yourself in situations where you are alone.Even if your team chooses the absolute dumbest, complete useless flanks like beach on overlord or valley push Lakeville, mountain trail on Glacier - never go alone in some self-delusion heroic attempt to hold an uncovered flank. Heroes doing this early on when they see their team lemming train in whatever direction at the start....usually die quickly and get angry quicker. Do not spend time over trying to convince your team in chat. No one reads chat, and chances are if they follow a lemming train to an idiotic flank....they are imbeciles without a clue and won't listen anyway. Such chat would likely lead to arguments instead which isn't needed at all. If your team lemming train, chances are they still acquire some map control even if its towards a dumb flank, and with that map control, the rear part of it is still usually YOUR BASE. Stay back, as part of this rear guard, and defend your base. Even idiotic lemming trains can be put to good use. If you need hard, concise examples of this, I can show you by PM. The name of the game for just about any tank, but speaking about this whale specifically is position. Place yourself in proper, defensible position to which you are exposed only slightly when backing out to fire or baiting their shot. And upon which you fire you drive forwards into cover and your reload is guaranteed. Make sure your hitlogs provide you enough detail, like seeing which opponents are firing premium. This is controlled slow play, with hard cover, and without much distance between opponents, what this tank does well at and really only what it does at all. Because these situations don't really need mobility or DPM, don't think you need to counterbalance the tanks weaknesses (mobility, DPM) with rammer or turbocharger. Being able to fire quicker in peaking or having more HP for trades, in these very controlled side-scrape battles is typically wiser. Use equipment like hardening, spall, rotation mech, vertical stab, vents, aiming device.
