[Sandbox] New Balance Test Kicks off on February 10

View PostKanonenVogel19, on 10 February 2020 - 06:11 PM, said:   And what about the players that can't afford to pay more credits? Why should these players be forced to play at a disadvantage? This is a pay-to-win aspect and this is why I've suggested that the entire concept of premium ammo should be removed and all shells should cost the same.   The announcement states that these changes will make it more fair for everyone, but that's not the case, since players with a shortage of credits will still not be able to load high penetration rounds against heavily armored targets. Why is it so extremely important for WG to only allow players with a lot of credits to have multiple shells to choose from?

parim1331:  I wouldn't agree with this, since special ammunition will not be as versatile as today, in many situations, it will be better just to use the standard AP ammo.

View PostMcFjant, on 10 February 2020 - 06:14 PM, said: What about XP that's been used to unlock T-62A, 113, AMX-30 & AMX-30B?

parim1331:  No information about this. I reckon we will be able to share more after the tests.

View Postnightcrow82, on 10 February 2020 - 06:26 PM, said: So basic of the change is to rip off us old players. So i have researched the whole tech tree and now you are gonna take that away from me?

parim1331:  As far as I know, the tanks are not going away.

View PostArtur__Rosiak, on 10 February 2020 - 07:07 PM, said: Most important question now. When can we expect this to hit live? I want to know how much time do I have to research 113 and T-62A, and re-buy the tanks I already researched. Would be nice is someone from Wargaming gave us an estimated date.

parim1331:  I reckon it all comes down to how long it will take us to analyze the data gathered during this test.

View PostGruff_, on 10 February 2020 - 07:08 PM, said: Will you be nerfing the object 430, 430u and the ridiculous reward tank 279e then?

parim1331:  No information about this as of now.

The tech tree changes; simplifying it is great, and by that I mean categorising everything in a logical manner, but special vehicles seems totally unnecessary, why not just add filters for the tech tree like in the garage? That way you can easily simplify the tech tree while still keeping the vehicles.   2. The ammo changes; honestly, just nerf premium ammo. Get over it, it's a global nerf, it's not a premium tank, you can nerf it. Save yourself the trouble of readjusting basically EVERYTHING else and just make one change instead of a million other changes.   The rest of the ideas and proposed changes are great.

parim1331:  1. The tanks will not go away, they will see be available,  just under different conditions. 2. In my understanding of the broader picture here, the special ammunition actually gets nerfed, as it won't be used as often as it is used now.

View PostGkirmathal, on 10 February 2020 - 07:36 PM, said:   Excuse me Parim, but that is a severe contradiction. So the player base for years have been asking for buffs to heavy tanks via changing the Special Round damage output?   But lets us rewind to 2016, under the supposed scapegoat supervision of Murazor: - In 2016/2018, the HD model reworks resulted in an overall reduction of armor model complexity, also widely known as the: reduction of armor weak spots. - In this period, until he was sacked in 2018, armor models of various existing content (mainly heavy tanks and heaviums) and a lot of new premium content got positively upped through with same paradigm: homogeneous but thicker armor model layouts with fewer, to sometimes no, weak spots. - Whereby making Special Rounds more necessary vs a larger part of the in-game armoured content, to be effective to counter said content. - Thereby: increasing a players credit drain, thus increasing the need to run a WoT Premium Account to negate said credit drain, or purchasing of premium content. - In this period the negative feedback on Special Ammo spam increased significantly, where renowned players and CC's regularly mentioned: the need for Special Ammo to counter such weak-spot-less armor layouts, when flanking is prohibited by linear map design introduced by the 1.0 map changes. - More recently: the whole inflation of the credit economy since 2018, through over saturation of marathons/events and missions rewarding credits. And the introduction of the WoT Premium account, which has an even higher credit & exp coefficient. - New features that act like credit drains, like the Black Market are an effective means of getting back control of the credit inflation.   Parim, the contradiction here is players have for years now (at least on the EU) been asking for a different approach: (1) better armor layouts with effective (2) weak spots that can be effectively targeted by same tier and lower tier content. (3) Armor layouts that do not promote Special Rounds to be used to be(come)(more) competitive in an engagement.   What has been done to alleviate this numbers 1,2 and 3 in this whole rework? Because increasing the HP pools by 20% on those tanks with "problemous" armor profiles, effectively means a buff to their effectiveness equal to their received 20% HP buff. If reworking of armor profile and reintroduction of proper weak spots is out of the question, for what ever valid or non valid reason, then at least scrap the HP buffs to those pieces of content with problemous armor profiles completely to offset.   So one could deduct two things (maybe more). WG again misinterpreted feedback. Or is this whole rework is just a means to further consolidate the monetization schemes throughout the product,

parim1331:  As I have written below. Hopefully different damage output will promote situational shell use, but we will see. I cannot say anything for certain now.

View Postadharus, on 10 February 2020 - 07:48 PM, said: over all,the real goal of this changes is cristall clear: a huge increase in credit costs for ammo resupling, therefour, making wot premium a must in order to be able to play high tiers...another kick in the but toword free players...  since a huge nomber of vehicols are compleatly imune to ap fiered frome majority of theyr oponents, and since he are no longer an option (deth star give in average 300-400 damage per shot now, with the ammo that it supose to giv3 1100),fiering an severily increased nomber of gold shels it has become the only solution...how stupids wg conseder we are not to see this simple thing?

parim1331:  From what I have seen it's a bit different than that. The usage of different types of ammunition will be more situational than before. To visualize it with an example. You flank the enemy team that was pushing one side of the map, and at this very moment, they have exposed their side armor so get the most of this situation, you should ideally use the standard ammunition, as it would deal the most damage. In other cases, when fighting heavy armored vehicles, you could try using special ammunition which would deal less damage, but still somewhat guarantee that the penetration will be made.

View Postadharus, on 10 February 2020 - 07:53 PM, said: so,basicly i will ask refunf for ALL my bought it premium vehicols, since those sre nerfed  (he penn removal)...the only one i can't is kv2 ® who, tecknicly, reteained the payed nombers

parim1331:  Personally, I doubt that you have used HE shells on even half of your premium vehicles.

Yesterday half a million in gold was removed from EU server. Likely a sufficient part from English speaking part...   I want Eek back :(       Also on topic, interested to see how the changes will work out. Frankly I'm starting to get quite annoyed that at the moment each hit I take is either ammo-rack and/or fire. Installing the test client right now.

Installing the test client right now.  Thank you for your kind words. Regarding the in-game experience. It all comes down to how dedicated you are to learn about the game from playing it yourself, and watching stuff online.

parim1331:  I reckon that this will be determined as the time goes.       And of course, I would like to thank every each of you who decided to leave their feedback in this thread, it is very helpful! :)
