Dakiras: Since the video is focusing on the physics, it's lacking a lot of
the particle effects. I expect that upon full release of this
system, we will see dust, some mortar and such like with the
debris. I agree that there needs to be a little bit more realism in
the 'weight' of the objects that are being broken through. Much
like the turret that required some further tweaking to create more
realistic grounding in the tests I think materials like brick,
wood, etc should also undergo a similar tweak. But then it
becomes ever more complex. Having worked on some very basic physics
in the past, I remember that the important part to realism is how
objects interact with each other. Bricks falling onto soft ground
will be a *thud* and not much simulation thereafter; however,
bricks falling on cobblestones or concrete will require a different
set of collision calculations. It would look really good, for sure,
but the decision needs to be made whether or not the overheads on
those kinds of very specific calculations are worth the time and
system resources to implement. Really, really awesome look
into what will come. Also, multi-core support. WHEEE!!
