With the amount of teams signing up, I didn't want to miss out but couldn't wait for our last 2 to signup.
If I knew it was going to put us in lockdown, I probably would have risked missing out to get our full 7 man team.
Might be an idea to let teams know they cannot add members afterwards or even add a feature to cancel approval.

I believe the time in most of East Australia to be EDT, I just wrote East Australia time because most of the players are American, and EDT would confuse them to thinking it was the EDT American time.
I meant East Australia Time as the current time, which is currently in daylight savings, for New South Wales, Victoria, ACT, Tasmania.

GeneralDirection: Hi all,
I wanted to confirm that we will not have a special this weekend. We very much want to get one implemented as soon as we can, and will be sure to announce when one is coming.
We're also working on ways to streamline the process of implementing specials so that we can deploy them on a consistent basis. We're not quite there yet, but it's a goal we're working toward every day.
That said, keep your eyes peeled tomorrow for something we're very excited about.

I supect it's probably far too much information for them to be able to conveniently sift through. Keep in mind that there are usually anywhere between 150-300 battles going on the NA server at any given time, which would make for a hellacious ammount of data over any extended period of time.
That, and I'm not sure if they even can track awards and how many tanks damaged/killed for each match. Even when you look up a player's stats in-game rather than online, you still only see the ccumulative awards/totals per tank, not per match (with the exception of most XP or most killed in one match), which makes me wonder if this data is even stored after it gets added to the totals (see first point)

GeneralDirection: You're mostly correct. We have the data, but it's a lot of data to
sift through. We don't really have the tools to automate the
process, which means it's a lot of asking our support team to go
through logs -- which honestly is better spent helping players with
game issues.
We're working on tools to better automate events, but that falls into the realm of priorities. While we really want to improve event tools, it's a longer term project that we'll finish up gradually; for now the priority is on more tanks, more maps and more game modes above all else.
In the meantime, we'll keep the events going -- even if it requires a bit of manual confirmation on our end. We want to keep you guys happy.

Last 5vs5 was first to 2 wins, 5 battles total. It worked out well because the first battle, teams usually draw just feeling each other out. There were a few rounds were we needed 4 or 5 battles just to get 2 wins. Can we change to 2 wins or up the battles per round so we don't have alot of double eliminations?
Also, our clan has players from all over the world. Will we be penalized for having a mix of players that include NA players?

GeneralDirection: We won't penalize you for the region that players are playing from,
but do keep in mind that this will be early morning for your NA
folks. It may be best to field them in the tournament that's a
little friendlier to the NA time zones (which will be announced
this coming Monday), unless they play at the hours this tournament
is active during.
Regarding 3 wins in 5 matches vs 2 wins in 5 matches, I'd personally prefer the first match not be wasted on a draw like the method you described. I'd rather there not be a draw at all, to be honest.
That said, if it's an issue with this tournament we'll modify it for next month.

GeneralDirection: It's one round a night, yes. I set it up with a day between rounds
because the feedback from our last tournament (IGN Prime) was that
having rounds on too many days in a row made it difficult to
manage. There are other scheduling alternatives I'm working out the
details on as well, but won't be using for this particular
tournament.
I'll probably open up a poll at some point after the NA version of this tournament starts and get everyone's feedback on the scheduling type they would prefer.

Pz IV with L/70
T-50 with 57 and APCR
SU-26 with 122mm and the extra high ex. ammo and two HEAT rds
all with ammo rammers, gun drives and cammo nets
KVs by themselves are to slow so they need the faster support of the PZ IV
THE T-50 can spot harras dammage and kill cripples and is too fast for a single heavy
The SU-26 can defend its self if it has to better than other SPGs
and it can put the hurt on Tr 5 heavys

Tanitha: wow.. almost 3 months...
What basically happened was Schperling : Minsk community manager did state that a +8 UTC tournament would follow the NA timezome tournament back in August.
However that also was the time that NA office started to kick in and take over the running of the NA server.
The first tournament put on by NA office was the IGN tournament ~1st October.
http://forum.worldof...s-open-for-all/
Since then NA office has continued to staff up, with the intention of putting on these tournaments as often as possible, rotating them between the NA timezone and the Oceania timezone.
We are also currently recruiting a specific Tournaments specialist, just for Tournaments
http://forum.worldof...nager-e-sports/
Currently I believe the plan is to have 3 regular tournaments.
1. A Large sponsored NA based tournament Such as the previous IGN tournament.
2. A mini tournament for the NA Timezone.
3. A mini tournament for the Oceania Timezone.
And those three to rotate.
So this being the first, of many, regularly scheduled, Oceania tournaments.
As you also may or may not have noticed.
All Kill the Mod, Kill the courier, type events, are all scheduled for both NA and Oceania timezones each event.
So KTM events, have been scheduled for the Oceania timezone each event on a regular basis for the last few months.
And we will continue to add continued support for the Oceania timezone.

Tan.

Previously tournaments for the Oceania timezone were set to 1pm UTC, in a effort to make that a more suitable time for Australia, and a little better for Newzealand, we have made the time for these events 2 hours earlier than previously, based on your feedback on this poll Link However due to most of East Australia and Newzealand currently being in daylight savings. The time change has only effectively been 1 hour.
11am UTC = 6pm Indonesia time
11am UTC = 7pm West Australia / China time / Philippine time.

So here is another poll for your feedback, on the current Oceania Tournament Timezone.

11am UTC = 6pm Indonesia/Thailand/Vietnam time
11am UTC = 7pm West Australia / China time / Philippine time.
11am UTC = 10pm East Australia time (AEDT)
11am UTC = midnight New Zealand

I appreciate the sentiment in saying it's an Oceanic challenge, but I must confess I think it would be much more accurate to say it's a Singapore/Malaysia challenge. Especially given that it's midweek and presumably will take several hours a night, I suspect 9pm/10pm/midnight starts will rule out a large number of Australian east coast + NZ players. Sadly, this is common for the "Oceanic" region due to such a wide timezone spread (much like the US east/west coast split I guess).

Tanitha: And 6pm for Indonesia. There is also a lot of other countries on
(+7 -> +8) UTC.
And yes, even not allowing for Asia, even West Australia -> Newzealand spreads over a 5 hour timezone. IE 7pm West AUS = Midnight Newzealand.
It doesn't help, that East Aus, + Newzealand just went into daylight savings recently, which pushed the time difference out to a extra hour.
The competition is set to 11am UTC, 2 hours earlier than previous competitions, based on the player feedback here.
http://forum.worldof...t-time-changes/
Yes, there is similar problems for the USA timezone, but usually there is a 3 hour spread for the bulk of USA, and 5 with Asia -> Newzealand.
When daylight savings finishes, the times will be 1 hour earlier for east Aus, and Newzealand.

Tan.

GeneralDirection: Quick update-
Prizes for 1st and 2nd place were shipped today. Unfortunately we had a printing issue with the 4th place shipping labels that wasn't noticed until the USPS driver showed up, so we'll have to get them sent tomorrow.
I'll look into the possibility of getting tracking numbers for everyone.
For those on the 1st and 2nd place teams that were ineligible for physical prizes, we'll be getting gold disbursed to you tomorrow as well if you haven't received it already.

GeneralDirection: I'm going to move this particular tournament up one hour to 6PM
UTC+8 start time. I don't want to deviate too much from the
originally announced times. The rounds should last just around 1
hour at most, since battles are 10 minutes long and there are a
maximum of 5.
That said, feedback is welcome on the start time so we can improve it for future tournaments.

GeneralDirection: No limit for this particular tournament. If it becomes an issue
we'll address it with next month's.

Depending on how it goes with the Oceanic and NA tournaments, could these become a permanent feature?
GeneralDirection: We plan to continue with these "Challenge" tournaments on a monthly
basis. There are other tournament ideas I'm building on right now
as well, some of which will require a longer commitment, though
with a much greater reward. And a few that we may be able to do
even more often than the Challenges. But those are still in the
brainstorm phases, so I don't want to make any promises on
them.
At any rate, to answer your question: for now, there are no plans to make this a permanent feature of the game itself, but it's definitely a permanent 'feature' of the community team.

Asia. Unfortunately the schedule cannot be changed. We'll be
opening sign-ups next week for a tournament scheduled around time
zones in the Americas.

GeneralDirection: I can move the start 2 hours earlier, but that's the earliest we
can make it. The issue with Oceania is that there are so many time
zones spanning the region that it's almost impossible to set up a

KV with the 107mm will 1-shot ANY of them. And a KV has, what,
about 4 TIMES THE HEALTH??
TDs should be allowed to compete at same tier. Aren't they 'balanced' for their tier, trading armour and health for a firepower advantage that, frankly, often does NOT offset those disadvantages?
So you can take a KV with the 107, but not a SU-85 with same gun? PzIV carries same gun as StuG. M4 has similar gun to M10.
KV has 660 health with 2nd turret. Churchill has 700. The tier 5 TDs have only about 60% the health of KV or 50% of Churchill, no armour, and the KV has as good a gun. RoF on Churchill will rip up any TD.
Will love to hear the explanation.
