Subject: How do I manage credits better as a F2P?

Link on message: #12777948
Einzelganger7: My first two years in the game I had no premium tanks to grind
credits so I used tanks with good standard pen, this allows the
chance to gain credits even on a defeat. My tanks to grind credits
were the StuG III ausf. G, Panther and recently the Nashorn.

NateRocko, on Mar 07 2021 - 15:30, said: I'm always scraping for credits. Never seem to have enough. I made
the mistake of grinding a bunch of lines to tier 5-6 and it's
really taken a toll on my credit income trying to get equipment,
crew retraining, etc for all of them. What can I do at
this point to manage my credits better as a F2P? Is this just
something that comes with playing F2P or can I avoid it?
Link on message: #12777928

TeriyakiTanker: Unfortunately, there is no secret to it. 1.
Get premium time whenever you can, events can provide a small
amount for you2. Use credit boosters3. Use your premium
tanks and grind them out4. Get free premiums from
events 5. Be very selective about firing premium
rounds6. Don't use premium consumables, except for fire
extinguishers which actually pay for themselves over time7.
Don't use directives And basically you really just need
to grind premium tanks.

would've upped my bid from 30m to 32m on the Qilin/ Ki-Rin
(alternate way of spelling the same mythological creature). And I
would've loved to have that tank, because it's both good and quite
a sight in the looks department. Regarding the T-22, as I
just wrote on another thread, I withdrew my 25m bid and won't be
putting another one up. I simply don't care, emphasized by the
heinous (bad language gets penalized in the forum, otherwise I'd be
quite ingenious in its usage, trust me) community contributors,
like QB, who are telling people to switch gold to credits and seem
to happen to be succeeding. In the rush to get something unique,
guys who aren't doing as well in RL are still pulling hard on the
rope and I won't have any of that. If tomorrow QB says: "Oh,
this is a solid option (as he said about the usless 122-TM), today
WG offers legal immunity if you kill a neighbour of your choice, in
exchange for this super-rare tank", I'm positive more than one
someone, somewhere in the World, will make it to the news. As
mentioned above, I'm not having any of it, not when you also add
the ghost of sCrew 2.0 looming on the horizon. Cheers.

TeriyakiTanker: You are just ridiculous, the whole M60 code thing was just a meme
that people joked about because people were always asking about
it. No one was lording it over anyone, to be honest you seem
to be the only person who is getting emotional over other people
paying a ton of silver for a tier X tank that is already in the
tech tree.

Link on message: #12776608
Engineer777, on Mar 06 2021 - 13:57, said: Yes, it gives +50% crew xp. Let's say you play it 200 battles and
average 1000 xp. Premium account gives you 1500 xp instead. +50%
crew xp means +750 crew xp per crew member. Over 200 battles,
that's 150,000 crew XP per crew member. Meanwhile, 100,000,000
credits buys 12,500,000 crew xp per crew member. That's almost 100
times more crew XP. Yes, playing more than 200 battles and using
crew xp boosters will make this difference smaller, but the crew
books are still going to grant dozens more times the crew xp. Since
the crew training doesn't justify the cost (as I just explained),
the tank isn't anything beyond the tech tree tank except the style.
You're choosing a style over crew skills and consumables and
directives. You might alternatively be choosing it over other BM
items. Aside from this, I can assure you, not everyone who
purchased the Qilin has no need for credits.
Link on message: #12776608

TeriyakiTanker: No one actually "needs" credits for anything. But the main
problem with your logic above is that you are only taking one
aspect into account. People obviously disagree with you, and
me too as I don't think it was worth that many credits either, but
you are trying to force them into seeing it your way. They
obviously are ok with paying that much for the tank, and you can't
just say its a skin because it isn't.

through it I unlocked the Tiger II so I skipped the VK 36.01 H and
Tiger I (it was before the recent tech tree reworks where some
branches were connected) but when I decided to get them I liked
both. Though most of them was already unlocked due to the
compatible components from the Tiger II and Panther II so no idea
how is the full stock grinding, even so the short 88mm still
performs well at tier 7 so I think it won't be painful to grind for
the Kw.K 43 L/71.

little they valued it. I have a lot less drive to play, and
zero interest in grinding my newer crews.... At this

the idea of taking crews I had put years and $$$ into training up
and making them so much less has really taken a lot of my

attacking you he was just giving you his opinion on the
subject. But all that aside, everyone will give you a
different reason. Some people like seal clubbing, some people
just enjoy the faster pace of the low tier game, some people prefer
to play without the vision saturation, and a lot of people prefer
playing actual WWII tanks because thats just their thing. PS -
smart move buying the zero skill BiA crews that way, also has the
benefit of netting a ton of gold. If you still need zero
skill BiA for the Russians I think the ISU-122 actually is better
value for the dollar.

No they don’t, your reasoning is flawed. If I own all the tanks in the game I certainly don’t need to buy more tanks, if I don’t use directives I don’t need to buy them, and I can go on and on. Just because you have other things to spend silver on doesn’t mean someone else does. Also this tank gets extra crew exp so it isn’t just a skin, it comes with a tank and you can’t just ignore that. Do I think it was worth as much as it went for? No I don’t. But if I had 100 million silver sitting around I would have bid on it too.

members? ii) If the previous is true, then should I
start reassigning my full skill crew members -- making each

then is there some other optimal reassignment of crew members to

So basically 2.0 has been canceled as it was. BUT the answer to your first question was no. The exp in 2.0 was an average of the crew so if you did what you were thinking you would have ended up with a ton of really bad crews. The work around would have been to put all your crews into 2 man tanks and then convert them.

suits their argument. Things you can buy with 30,000,000 credits:
-enough crew experience to bring the first skill/perk from
0% to 100% on over 100 crew members (if 6 per tank) -100
peices of class I equipment (on sale) -3,333 battles worth
of directives (x100 bundles are 10% off normal price); a year's
worth if you play about an hour a day on average. Such directives
can double the effectiveness of skills, such as +7.5% improvement
to dispersion during turret/gun rotation or +5% improvement to hull
traverse speed. -rental 2D styles for 400 different tanks
-a copy/paste tank with a 3D style, and the ability to train
up your Chinese HT crew, presumably trained in the WZ-111 5A; crew
transfer wouldn't even be needed if it was a Style applied from the

You may not have noticed the monetization of the game to get players interested in spending money on the game. (sarcasm
) This has to be done in a way that
doesn't drastically change the gameplay or give players a massive
advantage over a player just joining the game and trying it out for
the first time. Things like premium Ammo are built into the economy
to keep players from reaching the endgame of Tier X and just
sitting there. Damage to vehicles, consumables, ammo prices is all
there to do this. None of this is an excuse but is just a fact of
how the game is designed. Any changes to this economy is not taken
lightly since it has taken 10 years of data before these
changes. Many forum go-ers are not as jazzed by some changes
or decisions made by developers. The wheeled vehicles shaking the
box, and meta of how the game flows. Forcing players to rethink
their decisions of what bush to hide in. RNG and the reason for MM
not looking at skill in Random battles. These challenges are in the
game as it adds an extra level of complexity that other shooter
games don't offer. A similar board game to this approach is how
Warhammer attacks are done. For example, roll a D6 for you to
hit are in a result of a 5-6, if you rolled that, then roll again
to see if your shot actually did damage only on a result of 4-6.
The odds of rolling high twice are not very good to some players
and they have to adapt to this in their playstyle. The same applies
to World of Tanks but in a simulated environment with trajectories
differing to some degree with each shot.
Developers get paid to add to the game and introduce new mechanics to challenge old players and interest new ones. Their main goal is to make a free-to-play game difficult to play for free. Pretty sure everyone can agree that they do that very well. I hope this post helps in explaining some of the logic from an Employee of almost 6 years that has seen many changes implemented to the game. TLDR: Pay money if you enjoy the game
. Decide on how much you wanna
support the game, know that we appreciate all our players both free
to play and supporters. One thing that you can take away
from this game is that it is never done changing. Thank
you again to everyone that gave feedback after trying it on the

the expectation value to get it?

Einzelganger7: Indeed, I saw that like 5 days ago in Wot express' VK account so
this is why I got my hopes up for Crew 2.0, so let's see if people
will start to get less paranoid already.

"The developers justify themselves for the Crew 2.0 WoT. - Crew 2.0. Your reaction and our observations. Thank you for participating in the testing and sharing your feedback with us. As we mentioned, the current Sandbox is a testing ground for collecting data and feedback regarding Crew 2.0. And it is the reviews that allow us to understand which main points need to be paid attention to and which directions for the development of the new crew should be reviewed. So, here are some of the topics around which there have been serious discussions in the gaming community. -Experience of "zero" skill.
Players discussed the lack of experience compensation for "zero" skills. According to our plan, in the new system, the presence of Instructors was to completely replace them and ultimately bring more tangible benefits to the player. However, when converting tankers with "zero" skill into new crews, the experience of this skill was not taken into account. From your reaction, we realized that this does not seem fair enough. Let's think what can be done about it. -Randomness in instructor callings sets.
Another feature that worries players is related to the vocations of instructors. Our idea was this: a random set of callings would not greatly enhance one skill. However, the innovation was received negatively, which means that we have to think about how to solve this issue. -Effectiveness of skills in new and old systems.
We understand the concerns of some players about the over-efficiency of vehicles with a new crew. For example, STB-1's damage per minute can reach 5400 units, the reload speed of Object 261 is 19 seconds, and the wheel's view can exceed 500 meters. In turn, other players believe that the new crew has become less effective if the criterion of effectiveness is the number of learned skills, and not their impact on the battle. The idea of the new crew is that now the system will allow creating crew settings for specific combat situations and playing style - this will determine its effectiveness. The value of such a system for the player is the ability to receive significant bonuses in the context of a particular battle instead of constant insignificant bonuses, which he may not have to use. At the same time, we do not want the changes to result in overly efficient assemblies. Therefore, we will carefully monitor the statistics to make sure that the changes are sufficient, but not overly effective. * These are not all the questions that you raised and that require additional study. If you have new questions, be sure to ask them - feedback is important to us.
____________________________________________________________ Tests and statistics collection will continue, and we ask you to continue to get acquainted with Crew 2.0. Questionnaires will be sent to you in the near future, we will be grateful if you take the time to do so." Source: https://vk.com/wotcl...0226354_3838868

I checked and it is indeed a reward tank, it doesn't have credits boost, only crew exp boost and the chance to use any crew from other Chinese heavy tanks.

Yes, that's why I sold it like a year ago and kept the E-50. It only offered a bit higher standard pen and hull traverse speed. Though I have no idea how much it improved after the buffs because 265mm of front turret armor is still low. (Also the thing I still see bad even after the buffs is the low DPM, barely 3k while other tier 10 mediums have around 3.3k)

Einzelganger7: Well, if the Tiger II got the front turret armor increased from
185mm to 245mm, I do not see it as a wrong thing to buff the
Jagdtiger's armor. In fact in Wot Blitz the Casemate has the same
250mm but the front hull got buffed recently and has 280mm
effective. On our version I'd buff the casemate to 280mm, the hull
to 160mm (248mm effective) and improve the hull traverse speed with
similar parameters as the E-75, this way it would be able to at
least bounce standard ammo of tier 9 heavies and be more
aggressive.

over multiple nerfs, span of yearsWhining about it, leads to these
iterations of possible HE re-balance.I don't know what planet you

HE, of course. Playing HE barf tanks. When a tank has 12 HP, or to
reset cap, or in blindfire, destroying obstacles or knocking trees
down for camo. When enemies 600m away and aiming is impossible -
any damage better than none. But what I don't do, is waste time and
very possibly sacrificing my precious HP trying to deal with an
enormously advantaged hull down or sidescraping tank, with HE when
I could avoid it and better serve my team tackling tanks NOT in
superior static positions, where my constant DPM is effective and
they are not as dangerous to assault. This is stupidity, why
should someone get a free pass with a broken mechanic, many times a
reward for laziness?

resilient and stalwart, and continues to be a reliable tier 8
