it to the D - the Dicker Max! Adding even more hype to an already
exciting Third Thursday, you can take your new rental tank into our
tier VI Throwdown tournament! Tournament page Registration Joining a
tournament and earning a prize is easier than ever! In the Third
Thursday Throwdown, single-player teams are split into groups, with
each group having no more than 10 teams. Facing all other teams in
their group, the best tier VI tank commander will earn the 1st
place prize - a cool 500 gold! If you're not at the top of the
pack, don't worry, players will earn gold all the way to 7th place!

Run into a player that brought broke a rule? Send in
a dispute immediately after the tournament ends and we will adjust
the scores. Please note, you must include all of the
requested information when you submit your dispute! Dispute
Process Disputes must adhere to the protocol detailed below or risk
having the dispute dropped by tournament administration. Teams have
24 hr after the tournament has concluded to submit disputes.

The email subject: Third Thursday Throwdown Dispute Disputes
must include the following in the body of the email or risk having
the dispute dropped by tournament administration: In-game name of
the player submitting the dispute Name of the tournament (Third
Thursday Throwdown) Your team’s name with a link to your team’s
page created for you during registration Your opponent’s team name
and a link to your opponent’s team page created during registration
Reason for dispute: e.g. “I would like to report the team for using
a tank that was not allowed, the StuG III.” An attached replay of
the disputed battle(s) Additional notes: One
valid dispute during a group stage reverses all scores
from the offending team for that round. Publicizing disputes prior
to resolution is subject to penalties at tournament admin's
discretion, not limited to: Disregarding the dispute Immediate team
disqualification Removal of offending player from the event
Prizes A player will only receive a prize if they won at least
one battle during the tournament. Prizes are awarded to
players as quickly as possible. It can take up to 7
days after the tournament has concluded before players are
credited with their prize. If it has been more than seven days OR
if there is a problem with the prize, please contact
tournaments@wargamingamerica.com.

to determine if a player didn't show or simply got a draw against a
team. Therefore, there is nothing we can do about the no show teams
at this point.

they display. You are able to change them back as well.

Common Test client! This CT version features many updates and
changes to the game. Please leave detailed feedback in this thread
here. Some things to consider when posting: How do you like
the changes to the spotting mechanics? How do you like the
changes made to the UI (Mission interface, Garage, vehicle
comparison, game interface changes etc) Do you like the changes to
chat? What works and doesn't work for you? Why? Patch
Notes: Game Features Improved mission UI: Reset the entry
point for missions and Personal Missions
Reworked the "Awards" window by adding an award selector and a window with more information about Personal Missions
Added a dropdown for groups of missions for a selected vehicle or type
Added a two-row vehicle selector in the Garage (can be disabled under the "General" tab of the Settings window)
Battle improvements:
Cross-team battle chat disabled for all game modes except in Training Rooms
Hover over the battle chat to freeze messages, scroll through messages and open the context menu with a right-click
Hover or right-click to restrict messages (chat and voice chat) from particular players for the duration of battle in all modes except Training Rooms
Messages received before blacklisting a player or restricting their messages in battle are hidden

New player performance notifications on the battle interface:

More informative and extended battle performance badges: damage caused (amount); damage type (penetration, ignition, or ramming); type of assistance damage (destroying a track; spotting); number of detected vehicles or base capture/defense points
More informative fire direction indicators: amount of received/blocked damage, enemy vehicle that fired the shot, marker and name of the vehicle (if spotted). Also, an option that informs players of the amount of received/blocked damage for a specific shot: the wider the fire marker background, the more damage a player's vehicle received/blocked
New fire direction indicator: Critical hits are shown in brown, and if one module or Crew member is damaged/injured, the indicator displays a corresponding icon.
"Battle Results" window provides quick access to battle performance summaries
New functionality given its own tab in the Settings window
Improved Notification Center functionality:
Changed the design of the Notification Center with three groups: informational, social (invitations to Platoons or friend requests), and personal
Fixed the issue of too-frequent button blinking
Added more conspicuous notifications about important events

Added the ability to compare vehicles in the Garage:
Separate window displaying rows of Technical Characteristics and columns representing the vehicles selected
Can add at least one vehicle to vehicle comparisons (if only one vehicle is chosen, players see how selected modules and Crew members affect its technical characteristics)
Vehicles for comparison can be added from various places, including unresearched vehicles and vehicles unavailable in the Tech Tree (e.g., Type 59). Vehicles received from events can't be compared
Added ability to restore vehicles and Crew members from the game client (restoration will be available upon release of Update 9.16)
Sound Extended the caliber range: Gunfire sounds now comes in five different calibers (instead of three) in tier VIII-X battles
New sound for cartridge reloading. This can provide information about the number of shells in the cartridge, when the last shell in the cartridge remains, and a notification when the last shell is fired (i.e., no more ammo)
Clearer, more distinctive sounds for when damage is received (0-17%, 18-35%, 35%+)
Added sound of a damaged (not destroyed) engine -- knocking, clanking, etc.
Added a notification sound when gun is destroyed and unable to fire
Added individual sounds for damage to each module
Improved vehicle driving feedback with sounds of switching gears, acceleration and other maneuvering
Increased visibility of sound settings
Added option to choose between two sounds for the "Sixth Sense" Perk, including selecting your own MP3 file
New sounds that warn that the battle has ended due to last enemy destroyed or base captured
Divided interface/notification sliders into interface and voice messages
Divided music sliders into in-battle music and in-Garage music
New "endless" and nonrecurrent music for the Premium Garage

Better display of terrain
Better visibility of unpassable map areas/slopes
Structures and cover points are divided and displayed as destructible (white) and non-destructible (black)
Slanting lines are used to display water where one can drown, and otherwise unreachable/impassable areas

has two ways to register for the Platournaments! When you
create the team, make sure that you are using the correct
registration!Register as a Team! Registration works the same

A complete team has 3 - 4 players. Captains do not need to submit
their team; all teams with the minimum number of players will be
accepted. The team is now ready to fight once the tournament
starts! Register as a Solo player or as part of

be confirmed; all players will be accepted for the Solo/Party

of the ping over time, and will not give enough information to
troubleshoot any connection issues. The WGcheck too is a great
tool. It actually can help ping. When you run it it will make sure
the network has al the necessary ports open in your firewall.
This is one of the reasons the tool would be given for a connection
issue.

compete with a clan with a full (or close to full) 100 people.
That's why we had a random drawing for 40 clans. There were
actually several clans on that list that had 10 people or less in
the clan, so they are able to earn something from the contest, just
by playing the game and doing damage

ideas for contests that you would like to see, I would love to hear
them!

Yesterday was a holiday, so I just got into the office today. As I
was playing catch up from the long weekend, I wasn't able to deal

I will make the grind and learn all I can from those of you that offered your help (which I thank you heaps

GhostPrime: Welcome to World of Tanks, and the World of Tanks
Forums! The M3 Lee is a fickle beast for sure. In the right
hands it is a decent tank and can pull it's weight, but it takes
some time and skill to get into. I agree with most on here that
platooning with someone who is knowledgeable in the game really
will help you get to know how to get tanking effectively. You may
consider checking out some of the pinned guides as well.

as the replay? Please be aware that high caliber is percentage
based because total HP between the two teams is hardly equal.

Note that the US found that 17pr punched through
substantially more metal than the British rated it for. (See part
3) It is known that there was no uniform testing standard, so
it seems that whatever metal or setup the British used in testing
was far less forgiving than the US one. And given the "on the
field" performance, barring the shatter gap issue, it seems
possible that both were more stringent than the German steel
actually provided.

The_Chieftain: I rue the day I mislaid the order number, but the modification
issued early 1954 (identified 1952 or 1953, I can't recall) would
be rather instructive. This was a post-manufacture retrofit of a
simple band, and the order indicated that it should only be applied
to non-Candian manufactured DS projectiles mated to 17pr casings.
The text was specific that the accuracy of the projectile when
mated to the 77mm was sufficiently accurate so the modification was
un-necessary. The implication here, assuming there is no difference
in the muzzle/brake between 17pr and 77mm, is that the issues only
appear at the higher, 17pr velocity. If so, the Canadian testing of
the round, damaged or not, out of the 77mm would have been
pointless. (But you can't blame them, if the British didn't figure
it out until the early 1950s). US Armored Board in its
testing in 1946 certainly claimed the Duraluminum fouling problem.
The dispersion charts were quite clear on the effect. I would argue
that the results in Fort Knox were certainly to the level of
Isnigny, and they were conducted under far more scientific
conditions than just plonking a tank "over there" and shooting at
it a bit. Either way, if it was "some" ammunition, or "all"
ammunition, the lack of consistency would have still failed to meet
US's famously stringent requirements for reliability. Before a
weapon went overseas, it was going to be rugged as all hell, and
when a round was fired, it was going to be expected to go pretty
much where it was aimed. So, by US standards, the round was
inaccurate, even if the Brits figured it was "Good enough". It's
down to the base perspective, I think.
