The_Chieftain: For reasons best known to myself, I've decided to re-start XCOM2. This time I'm going to prioritise weapons development. Looks like they've added some new features since last I tried. This BoltCaster thingy looks like it has promise.

The_Chieftain: Unfortunately, to a large extent, preserving vehicles doesn't seem to have been something which the US considered worthy of spending money on. I've come across evidence of a number of vehicles which had been sent 'for the historical record' which ended up being destroyed. The collection at Aberdeen was a disgrace, sitting outside, unprotected on the Atlantic coast for decades.   The lads at Benning are making progress, but they will never get most of the vehicles back beyond cosmetic restoration. TankFest USA will only happen if private collectors get involved.

dance210:   For about 99% of our tournaments, the tier limit that is given is the maximum tier that is allowed; players can usually bring a lower tier tank if they wish.   For some though, we give a minimum to maximum range. In this case, it's tier 8 - 10. Most players will bring a tier 10 tank. For those who don't have a tier X (or maybe just want to play a lower tier) they can bring an 8 or 9.

The_Chieftain:   It's all the fiddly bits to the sides of the gun barrel. The sight, the coaxial machine gun, the recoil mechanism, elevation gear, and so on and so forth. Even if you can get the things to physically fit, you also have to be able to access them for maintenance, replacement of parts, and so on. With the entire gun 'shoved forward' into the narrow bit of the turret, there is less room around those components.

The_Chieftain: That was not necessary, lads.   i think there is a lot to be said for the extra rounds. I am not a SOF operator, I'm using the sidearm for suppression, not killing. FWIW, my sidearm at home is a SIG chambered in 357SIG.

The_Chieftain: Is that infantry school database something I can get into online with a CAC? I will be curious to read it. Outside of occasional  M9s which were so worn out that they rattled, I have been quite satisfied with the ones I was issued. Would I have preferred a P226? Yes, but the Beretta gave me confidence it would work as advertised.
