The_Chieftain:   The local dealer had a certified pre-owned 2014 S8 available a few months back for less than the price of a new S6. I'm not in the market for another couple of months, but it was still very tempting... Not sure where you're going with the S6/S7 costs, though, unless you're thinking RS7 costs. It seems about in the middle to me. The comparable mid-sized V8 from Mercedes is about $20k more expensive, the Cadillac is over $10k more, only the BMW is cheaper, and only by a couple thousand. Can't get a boat for that. The RS7 is another kettle of fish entirely, and probably shouldn't be compared directly with the M5 or the E63.

The next day, there's a hitpiece on RSR, basically saying, as near as I can tell, "We didn't delete an out-of-date page, but we honored what it said anyway, before deleting it."  I had asked about the status of your prize with the WoT PC team before I was told there was no need, so became associated with you and then by proxy, I become associated with the trouble. That all seemed a little... un-necessary.

The top 8 clans (well, 9 clans due to a tie for 8th place) were seeded into a single-elimination playoff bracket. These rules were all explained on the tournament pages as the Clan Cup was running.

Update regarding issued with MoE not updating properly - we are aware of the situation and currently investigating as Saffr0n noted here.  We will update this thread as we proceed and find out more.

Quemapueblos: We have a quick update for players who opted in to transfer back to the Asia Pacific region. As widely reported in the news, undersea cables around the Asia Pacific Region have been damaged and are causing Internet problems in the area. SEA’s Asia-American Gateway (AAG), Intra Asia (TGN-IA) and SEA-ME-WE3 (SMW3) submarine cable systems have been most likely damaged by the storm and are causing increased latency.   It doesn't make sense to transfer players who are looking for better ping to a server that is experiencing a whole host of unrelated ping issues at this time. Here is an article describing the cable failures in more detail if you are interested.   We thank you for your patience and understanding. Your ticket will remain open in our system, and as soon as we have identified a new timeframe for the transfer, we will send another update.   If you have not already opted in, and are considering returning to the Asia Pacific region, the window of opportunity is closing. Some quick words on the subject: Gold was not offered for the contest, it was for 3 premium vehicles.  Since he already owned all three vehicles,  I offered him an alternative prize - his choice of premium vehicles from those that weren't CW rewards or otherwise restricted, a potential list of dozens of vehicles to choose from.  Avalon happens to have an incredibly extensive tank collection, and was not satisfied with that alternative.  He then pointed out the existence of an outdated KB article that indicated we would offer Gold compensation for certain events.  In light of that, I informed him that I would update the KB article to reflect current policy (and did), but that I would honor it because we did indeed have it up on the site.  Then I did.

I apologize if anyone feels mislead or scandalized by these actions, my intent at all stages was to reward players who won the contest appropriately.

Time for the formal announcement of the 2017 World of Tanks Seasonal Classic series, beginning with the Corsair Summer Classic (happening at the beginning of Fall) 
This epic 128 team tournament includes a prize of 200,000 Gold for the winning team, prizing down to 64th place, and some special gear from our partners at Corsair for the top 3 teams.  The tournament will feature teams of 7 players at Tier 8.  There will be three days of Group Stage games, after which the top 16 teams (determined by points earned, any Ties will be decided by a playoff) will advance to the Playoffs.  Playoffs are a Best of 3 Single Elimination bracket, except for the Finals which will be Best of 5.  Maps will change each day of the Tournament as indicated by the schedule below.  Registration is first come, first serve.

Lert:   Would need some finagling, but I think I could manage. The aftermarket turret is a captured one with a German cupola:     I would need to remove the cupola and replace it with plasticard, fill gaps with putty, sand smooth, etc. The difficult bit would be making another periscope. I was going to use one of the ones from the KV-1 turret, which ofcourse I can't do if I want to keep the KV-1 turret intact. I'd need to scratchbuild a periscope.   If I do that replacing the KV-1 turret with the KV-2 one and vice versa would be a matter of 10 minutes with a screwdriver, opening up the tank, undoing the turret drive mechanism, unplugging the electronics and swapping the turret, then assembling the whole thing again.

Lert:   Yeah that's the general consensus. Thing is though that the Sherman would take at least a turret and gun replacement to bring it to a standard I'd be happy with.   I have:   - JagdPanther - Leopard 2A6 - Pz IV F2 - StuG III G   Though the Pz IV is in pieces awaiting a rebuild, and the electronics are kaputt.

Lert:   Because it's an overrated, abominably misshapen, malproportioned square box that I have no interest in spending any money on, let alone my entire 'toy' budget for the rest of this year.

Saffr0n:   Thanks! This is the information I was looking for. Since you did run mods prior to the latest update, how did you remove them? More specific, the better. 

Lert:   Ausf. L:     I would have to get third-party engine grille vents and replace the overly thick plastic barrel with a more scale accurate 50mm L/60 aftermarket aluminum barrel to even make it look presentable.

Lert:   They don't make one at this scale at a price I'd ever be able to afford. Chances of that ever happening are slim to none.

dance210: Reminder: If you haven't done so, ALL clans are required to submit one replay from each battle. Failure to do so could result in disqualification.   Also, map picking for the semifinals will take place at 6 pm PT TONIGHT.

Lert: I'm likely to be in a position soon to get another 1/16th scale R/C tank. Now I'm trying to decide which one to get. My choices are:   - Panther - Pz III - KV-1 - T-34/85 - Sherman M4A3   Reasons to get the Panther: - It's a Panther! Legendary machine. - Imposing piece, even in 1/16 scale   Reasons not to get the Panther: - Already have a JagdPanther. Same chassis, similar vehicle. - Needs a small investment in third-party photo etch to get to an acceptable standard of detail, mostly the engine grills. - Already have four German tanks.   Reasons to get the Pz III: - Nice and compact - Underrated machine   Reasons not to get the Pz III: - Already have a StuG III, same chassis, similar vehicle - Is the manufacturer's oldest model, thus the detail is lacking and proportions are - .. eh. - Needs a moderate investment in third-party photo etch and parts to get to an acceptable standard of detail. - Already have four German tanks.   Reasons to get the KV-1: - Would be my first Russian one - Can replace KV-1 turret with third-party KV-2 turret and thus have a KV-2   Reasons not to get the KV-1: - The KV-1 itself is a bit - eh. - I don't want a Kv-1, I want a KV-2. Turning it into a KV-2 would require another ~$100, which I don't have and thus would be a future investment, but this is still the cheapest way of getting a 1/16 scale R/C KV-2.   Reasons to get the T-34/85: - Would be my first Russian one - Legendary machine   Reasons not to get the T-34/85: - I'd rather have a T-34/76, but they don't make those - It's a bit cliche, isn't it, such a standard vehicle   Reasons to get the Sherman M4A3: - It's a Sherman! Everyone loves Shermans. - Would be my first allied / US vehicle - It's a welded hull type, which I prefer over the cast hull types   Reasons not to get the Sherman M4A3: - It's the M4A3, IMO the ugliest turret design for the Sherman - Honestly, in a model of a Sherman I'd rather not have the 1055mm howitzer but a 75 or better yet, a 76 - Replacing the turret and gun would be as expensive as making the KV-1 into a KV-2   So help me choose?   "But why not *insert tank here* instead?"   Because I don't want insert tank here instead. Saffr0n: A few updates:  I escalated the issue with MoE to one of our server side engineers to determine if it's a UI error, a coding error or otherwise. Once they diagnose the issue they'll be able to apply any necessary fixes to get it back on track.  If you're still crashing, I've included a .bat file that's linked in the 3rd page. I've also mentioned to review your system specifications as it could be related to min specs. If you have mods..well remove them completely -- don't just run the client in Safe Mode.   For players that cannot see missions in the mission UI, I have two questions: Do you run mods or have in the past? (no one is getting in trouble, I'm just trying to eliminate possibilities) If so, what mods/mod packs are you running, or have run?  Is your contact list active? Your firewall could be blocking one of the server nodes that recalls the mission cache.  Grand Battles - I mentioned earlier that we increased the probability to get into a GB, and would analyze server statistics from the data over the weekend. We did that yesterday morning -- there were more GB's that popped, but not nearly as much as we'd like so we'll be working with our game designers to increase it more or to add more conditions to help populate a GB more often. When? -- I don't have an exact timeframe.    Keep the thread going. Thanks for all of your help. 

Quemapueblos: Hi folks, There was a technical issue with the final payouts for the Chat and Contact List Issues details here.The support team attempted to restart the invoice after the problem occurred over the weekend but it failed a second time and some players received 3 days of premium time instead of the correct package. We are working to sort out the issue before the end of this week and we apologize for any inconvenience.  TLDR; We had tech issues this weekend. Stay tuned for the final packages to be credited out before the end of this week

The_Chieftain: Wife's goal car right now (until she can afford a McLaren, which won't be happening any time soon) is a Maserati GT convertible. Which, in fairness, will be a while as well. I'm gunning for an Audi S6 as something which is tantalisingly withing reach, if I'm willing to sacrifice a few other goals.   That said, for weekend fun, we're kicking around something like a 69 Chevelle or 71 Charger. Not sure quite how we'll manage it, not least, we don't have room for the thing, let alone the time to actually complete a project car, but we do like the idea and have been keeping an eye out for a good buy.

The_Chieftain:   Same here. It's actually one of my favourites. Once you get it tooled up with the autoloader, it's a lot of fun. Just remember you can't take hits, but you can sure as heck dish'em out.
