TheTrustedLlama: Greetings Tankers! After a few delays this morning patch 1.5 is finally live! Please post into this thread with any new bugs or issues that you may be experiencing following the patch.  Known Issues:Players can re-train Crew members to special vehicles that are currently not available in the game. There is no protection from spam-clicking on the minimap. Vehicle type icons in the extended vehicle panels do not change their color dynamically, when selecting the Colorblind mode in battle. Disabled free crew retraining to vehicles of the same type. When a player destroys a vehicle by overturning it, this vehicle is not counted towards the total number of vehicles the player destroyed. The notification about base capture is displayed before the required number of capture points is accumulated. The order of events for received damage is sometimes mixed up in the damage log. The text of Mission conditions is not displayed in the congratulation window, provided that the required vehicle type is specified in the Mission conditions. The client cannot be maximized to the full-screen mode, provided that the player is having a Skype call. The vehicle tiers in the screen displayed upon pressing TAB are not centered relative to the vehicle icons. When a vehicle hits the ground without damaging modules, the sound of taking damage is played. Shaking aiming circle in the 16x and 25x magnifications in the Siege Mode during the Frontline battles. Events at the end of the battle are not synchronized with the text of the battle result. In some cases, automatic repair/replenishment of ammo and consumables after a battle does not take place, when the amount of Credits on the account is sufficient. The reticle indicator remains on the SPG after switching to the Artillery mode, if a vehicle partially intersects the red line.

DomoSapien:   Odd, I'd take the 430U over a 113 any day. What frustrates me the most about playing against the 430U is that it has that damn riot shield on the front of its hull, which easily bounces standard ammo from other mediums like the TVP, 140, 62A, 121 etc. but it is absolutely impossible to flank, even in most tier VIII light tanks, because it turns on a dime. 

Great frontal armor is fine as long as I'm able to flank.

DomoSapien:   Just to make sure we're not misunderstanding eachother: I'm assuming with nearly 30k battles you're aware of the replay functionality within the game client (it saves a replay of the battle that you can play back from different angles, etc. to the 'replays' folder inside your WOT installation directory) but just in case, here are instructions on how those work. I have my replays set to "all" so I don't accidentally overwrite any replays by starting up another battle.   One of the nice things about the replay system is that you can slow it down to 1/32 speed and see the actual trajectory of the shell as it travels.

DomoSapien:     Personally (and this is just my opinion) I think the armor would be fine if it wasn't able to take critical positions so effortlessly, and didn't have ridiculously high traverse speeds that allow it to keep that Frontal Riot Shield/Upper Glacis plate constantly pointed at anything that tries to circle it.   Funny enough, I think a similar approach to the theory behind the STB-1 changes would benefit the 430U; instead of nerfing the best parts of the tank, nerf the other parts that contribute to the totality of its overall performance. If you nerf the armor, it turns into an STG at tier X; you completely change the role of the tank. Just my two cents though.

DomoSapien:   The constant tweaking and nerfing and buffing happens because we are a free-to-play online game, and there is an expectation that a f2p game (even online games that you need to buy at first, really) will continue to release content updates. If we didn't, we'd still be playing the same game as we were 8 years ago. New nations, tech tree branches, and premium vehicles are released on a semi-regular basis, which have an impact on the pre-existing balance of the game.As new content is added, stuff shifts in and out of the competitive meta. Vehicles that used to be solid might not necessarily stack up with new vehicles, etc.   As to why a certain mod that used to be considered 'okay' is being added to the list? Well, things change. Previously, it may not have been considered as much of a problem as it is now. We live and we learn, we make mistakes, and we adapt.   1. Gun direction: this offers you an unfair advantage over the rest of the players in your battle. You have information about where the enemy is aiming presented to you by your minimap, so when hard cover, terrain, or bushes are blocking your line of sight, you can still tell whether or not someone is aiming at you, without direct line of sight on the enemy.
2. Distance arrows: I'm kind of on the fence about this one but I see how it can give you an advantage over someone without the arrows. Again, you can tell if someone is approaching you, without having direct line of sight on the enemy. Players running a vanilla client don't have this advantage. 3. Marking adversaries beyond draw distance: I don't understand how you're even surprised about this one. Maximum draw distance is an intentional game mechanic, and this mod directly circumvents this intentional game mechanic.  I'm honestly a bit surprised it hadn't been banned already.

DomoSapien: The 3D model still has collision, it's possible a shot went through a gap in the destroyed vehicle's model somewhere.    A replay of the battle would definitely help clear things up.

DomoSapien:   So, I actually intentionally altered that language when posting this announcement because it gives the impression that we feel the 430U and 430 are totally fine/will remain unchanged. That's not the case; there are still long-term plans to balance the 430 and 430U. Devs weren't satisfied with the reworked parameters, so we're sort of starting back at square 1 and trying to approach it from a different angle. 

Player feedback around the 430/430U changes seems to have a consensus around the fact that simply nerfing the gun handling isn't the right way to rebalance the vehicle.

DomoSapien: Quick update about the status of these changes:   Commanders!   The first iteration of the Supertest with rebalanced medium vehicles has reached the end, and we have an important message for you. We conducted an in-depth analysis of both your feedback and statistics and concluded that the changes of the Object 430 and the Object 430U didn't show the proper result and require further study in the next Supertest iteration. Therefore, we'll continue to test and monitor changes to the AMX 30B, the Leopard 1 and the STB-1, while taking a deeper dive into our data on the 430 and 430U to determine an appropriate solution for these vehicles.
We'll provide more details at a later date.

Si de una manera u otra beneficiamos a cierto tipo de jugadores para que obtengan virtualmente todo (recompensas de eventos, del Mapa Global, etc.), ¿en qué nos beneficia a nosotros como empresa que haya jugadores que no inviertan un centavo en el juego? Está bien que el juego es gratis, ¿pero por qué fabricaríamos jugadores buenos que tienen todo? ¿Cuál sería el criterio para elegirlos? ¿Por qué querríamos que existan?

Y, en caso de recibir una sanción (o ya haber recibido una), me gustaría que reportes al oficial de Wargaming que te pida un rescate en la divisa que sea para que sea despedido inmediatamente sin mediar palabra.   ¡Saludos!

Hambijon: From what I've read, I think some of you are missing the point of some of the mods listed.   1. Showing the directions the guns are facing.     - The argument is that you could find that out with line of sight.  However, this shows every gun direction even if they are out of your line of sight which is an advantage.  This one is often coupled with a "laser pointer" mod. 2. Displaying arrows of closest opponents.      -  Showing the distance to an enemy relative where you are without having to look for them. 3. Marking enemies that are beyond render/draw distance:      -  This is the one that keeps coming up.  This mod plants an indicator right on the enemy tank thats outside of your render range, showing you exactly where to shoot without looking at the map.  Not on the map, in your sights.     Topic locked.
