TeriyakiTanker: I may be wrong, but my understanding was that users who are using the anonymizer don't get counted in the XVM win chance.  If that is true XVM win chance is way off, but anyway you should turn that crap off.  Been mod free for a little over a year and been happier and playing better.

Einzelganger7: Was your gun damaged? Because when a gun gets into orange status it is just less accurate but if it gets into red then it gets completely disabled until it gets repaired again either by waiting some seconds or by using the repair kit.

Draschel:  HE has  horrid inconsistency and randomness, already bad for the game. By reducing the wide breadth of damage output it does now, to lower amounts but more tightly packed numbers, it makes it more consistent, and exactly that - utility. For instance Type 5 shooting at the front of T95 right now, can do 250 damage, and the next shot can do  0  exactly the same place.  That is an awful model to go by. What we see in sandbox is the gun is repeatedly doing 75-100. That is consistency. This horrifically reduces HE spammers DPM and effectiveness, ability to counter people's positions in lazy fashion, and will force them to aim themselvesAnother great thing, this will entice people to aim. Actually aim. No more random firing, for just splash derp, like KV2/FV/oi   You want to penetrate? Aim your shots, and with those high pen HE you can. Want to just auto aim and splash a tank? Take your reduced  low damage roll. This is good for the game, far fewer broken HE splashesTanks like VK7201 or 705A in great side scrape cross section, get splashed through the slim body you maybe able to see and their track belts, to which no gun has reasonable chance at all to penetrate with AP/CR/HEAT. And HE applies broken mechanics to deal damage, countering his position because of lazy players that don't want to aim to deal damage, or think twice about position.  I like the changes, and I think the utility remains. Light and medium tanks, with their small bore calibers, shooting heavy tanks like Type 5 is usually  0 damage *critical hit*  now. Ever watch the lemmingrush video with him shooting HE at VK7201 with object 140? So many of the 100mm  HE rounds are 0 damage fails.  In sandbox, they do like 25-50 damage. That is the sole purpose of utility, it is a guaranteed cap reset if you aim for the tank  (not tracks or gun piece) and guarantee kills against those enemies with 5 HP left. BUT YOU HAVE TO AIM, no more ridiculous splashing through gun right in the face, or tracks at nonsense autobounce angle I just wonder how they are going to pull this off. Alot of people purchase tanks like KV2R, 50TP, VK7501, SU130PM, Skorp G....that people HE spam in. KV2R the big one. I don't think WG will be too keen on doling out massive refunds available, like they did for super pershing.   

Draschel: What you want to do is equip gun rammer, ventilation, and rotation mechanism.You need sixth sense, snapshot, smooth ride, camo, BIA, consumable food.Make sure you use directives, camo cover or vent purge. Ammo should only be premium rounds to ensure highest possible penetration, and gun handling (most premium shells increase muzzle velocity)Use premium account for 2 map selection bonus, and turn off both Ensk and Himmelsdorf.  What you want is redshire, malinovka, prokhorovka, studziankaStick to camo foliage lanes, maintain distance from the enemy, and snipe. Use your team as spotting, use their armor and HP - as your armor and HP.   The good thing about this is, with friendly fire off,  your probably frustrated team won't be able to team kill you either.This perfectly fine leaves you free to rack up damage in your light tanks.    

Draschel: The notable ones are E75TS, Renegade, T26E5. These are the competitive ones. IS3, 50TP, 53TP, IS5, IS2-II, Caernarvon AX, Liberty, Chrysler become fast heavy tanks with supercharger and/or gasoline T77 and Emil51 are also fast heavies, but are bad tanks.VK4502A and Mutant 6 gain alot of mobility from supercharger and/or gasoline, but again bad tanks. FCM50 and AMX50100 are medium tanks without camo, more than they are heavy tanks Special mention to the new TM122 which is very well protected, Super Pershing after its buffs (1.12.1)  object 274A, T54Mod1, Type 59, Cent RAAC which can play as heavy tanks in situations  

Einzelganger7: Also, it is important to remark that the requirements increased since the HP buffs to low tiers. I just did this some hours ago, almost 2.6k (3090 combined) and 5 kills with my StuG III ausf. G and it was not an Ace either. But I find it interesting, because this is a better challenge than dealing 1.8k and getting Ace tanker like it used to happen.

TeriyakiTanker: Yes and that is why everyone is pointing out that you and Tedsc are selfish people, you can be selfish if you want but when people point it out don't act all aggrieved.  This is a team game even if scumbags like you and Tedsc don't want to admit it or fail to understand that there is social contract inherent to playing a team game, you don't have to be good but you are expected to at least try.

Edit: Huh? I was just watching Claus' stream and both the normal and Epic drops popped, the Epic one even in less than the required time, maybe there was a bug yesterday.

stabbymckill: Yuri Pasholok's new article on Warspot goes into great detail about the design and development of the T29 Heavy Tank project.

Conceived in the aftermath of the M6 heavy tank project, the T29 was meant to fight Tiger II's in western europe, but the war ended before the project could be fielded and late war development of the Soviet IS tanks proved that the T29 was redundant. Lessons learned from the design and development of this vehicle were applied in the later M46 and M103 tanks however. What are your thoughts on the story behind the late war and post war design and development of this vehicle?

TeriyakiTanker: The game economy is designed to make it very frustrating for f2p players earn silver, yes this is done to incentivize you to buy premium time, premium tanks, or both.  If you truly want to be f2p you can do some thing to earn silver 1.  Tier V is probably the best tier for making silver if you are f2p and anything above tier VI will get progressively harder to earn silver in, especially if you aren't pulling something like a 52%+ win rate. 2.  You need to use premium, aka gold, rounds sparingly and when you do use them you really need to make sure you do damage. 3.  Winning, yup you get more money when you win, lose to much and you are screwed. 4.  If you have the time there is a marathon starting tomorrow in which you can earn a "free" tier VIII premium tank.  Yes it will take you a lot of time and frankly you would be better off just buying the thing but you did say f2p. 5.  As soon as tank rewards starts again, hopefully in the next month or so, and this will allow you to earn a free premium tank every month.  They are usually low tier II-VI, and sometimes VII, but these tanks will really help a lot and get you some good crew training. 6.  Do not use premium consumables except for premium fire extinguishers which pretty much pay for themselves tier V and up, in my opinion. 7.  Most people will hate me for telling you this but arty is a GREAT way for a f2p player to make credits, HE is cheap and the M44, tier VI American arty, basically prints silver. 8.  I would not suggest playing higher tier tanks without researching all the modules, you should wait for the Frontline event to come around and grind them in that mode, also a great way to earn credits. 9.  Find ways to get silver boosters, the personal reserves are great for boosting credit earnings. Anyway lots of ways to earn silver for f2p people, good luck and have fun.

TeriyakiTanker: Really doesn’t make sense at all, the streamline didn’t make the grind any faster in any way.  It literally just removed some choices.  The real reason people get up to tier VIII faster now is the availability of boosters.

TeriyakiTanker: That isn't true at all, I am same or top tier most of the time.  On occasion you see tier X tanks but not that often, tier IX more often but not the vast majority of the time at all.

TeriyakiTanker: Ok, watched it and I am guessing you either got spotted by the 13/90 or he just blind fired you.  He pointed his gun at you well before he fired because he must have had an idea from where you were shooting him. My guess being that if he was using an illegal mod he would have fired at you much sooner than that.

February marks the start of the Lunar New Year and also the arrival of the new Chinese 122 TM premium medium tank. 
The 122 TM is a surprisingly well armored medium, what it lacks in speed it makes up for in penetration and damage output. This vehicle is well-suited to it's role as a long range sniper.   To pair with the release of the vehicle, the Lunar Challenge series of missions will give you a chance to win it, along with it's unique 2D style. Daily chapter II missions are available for those who have already added the 122 TM to their garage, allowing you to unlock the unique 3D style, which celebrates the year of the ox!   The Lunar Challenge begins Feb 12 and runs through Feb 22. The first iteration of the HE/Artillery changes on the Sandbox Server is now live!

Bringing a host of changes, this iteration of Sandbox focuses on a revised damage model for HE Shells. The first iteration of testing for these features begins today and ends on Monday, February 15th (Check out the article for details, dates & times subject to revision)

For a list of features that will be tested over the next Sandbox iterations, as well as a list of personal missions that can be completed on Sandbox in exchange for tokens and prizes, check out this article on the news portal.

For a list of changes being tested in this week's iteration: check out the dedicated HE Sandbox article on the news portal. Your feedback for these changes is critically important to us - the main takeaway to keep in mind from this testing is that we will be relying quite heavily on player feedback before we decide to implement any of the proposed changes. Finding a solution that works for our players is the utmost priority here. 

That said, if you haven't downloaded the Sandbox client, you're missing out on some potential rewards and an opportunity to help shape the future of the game we know and love.
