Error?

FV432 APC. Funny story: when Averis ordered his five-star
package, they didn't have the sherman drive yet, or he would've
ordered that one instead despite the $600 increase in price. So he
was totally not sad when halfway through the day Tony comes to him
and goes like "Hey, how'd you like a free upgrade to the Sherman?
Our T-55 is having technical difficulties with the gearbox."

Lert: Last friday I flew to the US for my holiday with my american GF
here and have basically the time of my life. The 'time of my life'
thing started this saturday with two very close friends, Treeweasel
and Averis, driving / riding
in actual tanks and shooting some of the most awesome guns ever
made by man. Some pictures:
The
motor pool. Chieftain Mk XI, Centurion Mk 5/2, Chieftain Mk X,
there's a Sherman M4A3E8 in the back, and up ahead are a T-55 and a
Hummvee.
Another shot of the motor
pool. My apologies for the fuzziness of the pictures and lack of
focus. Cheap digital camera and bad lighting. Also, enough
adrenaline going through my veins to power a small city.
The M4A3E8
'Easy Eight', a genuine WWII vintage Sherman worth about half a
million dollars. She's bigger than I thought she would be. More
imposing. I've seen and touched Shermans before, but none of them
have been the legendary 'Easy Eight'.
A 'Five Ton' WWII vintage US
truck. The owner of driveatank has like a dozen of these in various
states of repair.
From left to right, Averis,
Lert and Treeweasel, in front of the gorgeous and legendary
Centurion 5/2.
FV432 APC. Basically a
british M113 'inspired' vehicle made with armor steel instead of
aluminium, and fitted with a relatively bigger engine in order to
give it similar mobility. Just your basic no-frills battletaxi.
Averis got to drive it, Tree and me got to ride in the back.
FV433 'Abbot'
artillery. A 1960's era 105mm british artillery piece. Once again,
Averis got to drive, Tree and me got to ride in the loader's hatch
and TC's hatch respectively.
Treeweasel and me in the TC's
and loader's hatch respectively of the Chieftain Mk X, with Averis
in the driver's hatch getting instruction on how to squish a car.
Sitting in that TC's hatch with all that turret and that massive
gun right before me and the other half of the turret and the rear
half of the tank behind me - I felt like I was THE MAN. The
difinitive article, one might say. Though probably not as much as
Averis in the driver's seat.
Squish.
Just having a bit of fun
after riding around in the Easy 8. Averis got to drive, Tree and me
got to ride around in the turret. Afterwards we got to climb in
around and over the entire thing. This easy 8 is in amazing
condition. Almost everything that needs to be somewhere in, on or
around it is right where it needs to be. The radioes, the grenade
boxes, the M3 grease guns, the spring for the bow MG - it's all
there and working. Amazing. You could tell that this Sherman was
Tony's pride and joy, you really could. Tony is the owner of the
website and organizer of the whole day, he's the guy on the far
right in the above picture, putting his boot on my shoulder.
Me on the
MG-42. Bratatatatatatatat. I can check that off my bucket list.
Averis
on the .50 cal Barrett. The muzzle blast was so strong it blew down
the paper targets that were hanging by sticky tape in the next
booth over. It felt like a kick in the gut. I guess that's what you
get when you're crazy enough to fire a 50 cal indoors.
Tree on the
M1919 Browning. Bratatatatatat. He got to check that off his bucket
list.
Me with a 500 Smith and Wesson. Up until that day the biggest
handgun I had ever fired was a M1911. I saw that 500 S&W and
actually felt intimidated. I just had to put a round through it.
It's actually more controllable and manageable than I thought it
would be, though I guess the long fluted barrel helps a lot.
Treeweasel and averis also put a round through it. Two
videos: Crushing the car with the Chieftain Mk X:
Riding the Sherman Easy Eight. I'm in the TC's hatch. You
can see me muck about with the TC's headset before diving back
inside as Averis drives off and Treeweasel just leans his arm on
the 50 cal ma-deuce like he owns the place. BEST.
DAY. EVER.

after riding around in the Easy 8.
BEST.
DAY. EVER.

HBFT: Matchmaking As with all premium tanks, relative "value" must be
gauged through the prism of matchmaking. Some premium tanks
get preferred matchmaking, limiting the number of higher tiers you
will face and making you more effective against any tank you might
come up against. Some premium tanks with regular matchmaking
have strengths that make up for them having to face higher tier
enemies. The T-54 first prototype has regular matchmaking
(top tier enemies will be between 8 and 10) and we will discuss the
individual qualities of the tank in regards to this matchmaking.
Gun - Average for class/tier The 100mm gun on the T-54 first
prototype has characteristics between the top two 100mm guns on the
T-44. It has an accuracy of 0.38 with a 2.6 second aim time
and uses 175 penetration base AP shells and 235 penetration APCR
shells. The dispersion on movement and turret rotation is
pretty poor (similar to the T-44), having an effect on even
close-mid range shots (~ 100-200 meters). The base AP shells
are effective enough against most tier 8's, but you will have to
use APCR for some of the tougher 9's and 10's if you want to
penetrate them frontally. Armor - Great for class/tier The
frontal armor of the T-54 first prototype is fantastic for the
class/tier and is heavy-level armor. The upper glacius is
120mm sloped at 60 degrees, giving you 240mm effective armor.
The lower glacius is sloped at 45 degrees, giving you 170mm
effective armor. The turret is well armored and the cupola is
small and difficult to snipe. The closer you get to your
enemies (or at a lower elevation than them), the more you reduce
your more vulnerable lower glacius. You can bully a lot of
tier 8's and even some tier 9's with this armor. It begins to
suffer against tier 10 guns that can reliably penetrate through the
upper glacius though. Mobility - Below average for
class/tier This is where you pay for lugging around all that extra
armor. The T-54 first prototype has a top speed of 44 km/h
with a power:weight ratio of 14.8 hp/t (compare this to 51 km/h and
20.2 hp/t for the T-44). While it can reliably hit the top
speed traveling on flat ground (thus, is moving relatively
quickly), it takes some time to accelerate and turning on soft
ground or climbing hills is sluggish. This reduced mobility
becomes more of a problem against more armored tanks that you want
to flank. Equipment and consumables For equipment, I ended
up using optics, a gun rammer and a vertical stabilizer (to help
with the poor dispersion characteristics). For consumables, I
used an automatic fire extinguisher, small repair kit and a small
first aid kit. Overall I ended up liking the T-54 first
prototype quite a bit. As noted above, the biggest limitation
is the regular matchmaking where the tank can struggle against
higher tiers with more armor and better guns. However, it
compares favorably against the other tier 8 premiums with regular
matchmaking (Panther 88, Lowe, STA-2, etc.). In this respect,
it probably ranks second behind the fragile AMX CDC. If you are
looking for a Russian medium crew trainer, it can fill the role
well (I was able to average ~1100 premium experience per game over
~80 mostly solo random battles, YMMV). You can bully in tier 8
games, but may struggle a bit in tier 9 and 10 games.
However, if you look to utilize the strengths of the tank when you
can, you will reap the benefits. In tier-limited games
(company battles, team battles, strongholds, etc.), it might have
limited utility depending on your composition and deployment.

HBFT: T-54 First Prototype Review by RatZ1LLa What’s up all, I’m
RatZ1LLa and I was kindly hooked up with a T-54 first prototype to
test on 9.6 live servers. I’m a north american player and streamer
on twitch.tv, and I’ll give you a rundown of the T-54 fp!
Fire Power: ●100 mm D10T-K ○175 AP Penetration ○235 APCR
Penetration ○50 HE Penetration ○250 Alpha ○6.99 Reload with 100%
Crew + Rammer (2146 DPM) ○6.83 Reload with 100% Crew + Rammer +
Vents (2196 DPM) ○6.54 Reload with 100% Crew + Rammer + BiA + Food
(2294 DPM) ○6.41 Reload with 100% Crew + Rammer + Vents + BiA +
Food (2340 DPM) ○0.38 Accuracy Dispersion at 100 m ○2.6 Aim time
○-6 Depression ○34 Total Ammo Mobility and Maneuverability:
●520 Horsepower ●44 km/h Top Speed ●Terrain Resistance ○1.055 on
Hard Resistance ○1.151 on Medium Terrain ○1.822 on Soft Terrain
●14.64 Specific Power Miscellaneous: ●1,300 Hit Points
●120/90/45 Hull Armor (Front/Sides/Rear mm) ●180/120/75 Turret
Armor (Front/Sides/Rear mm) ●380 Base View Range ●418 View Range
with Coated Optics + 100% Crew Gun: The D10T-K 100mm on this
tank leaves a lot to be desired. Unlike a majority of mediums this
gun has high dispersion, so moving your turret to a new target and
preparing to fire seems like an eternity combined with the 2.6
second aim time. The disadvantage with the gun here is that you are
forced to expose yourself to the enemy for much longer than desired
with a medium tank to get your shot off. Also, having low
penetration even on the premium round has made this difficult to
play in a tier X match and perform well enough to be a big
influence for the team. Mobility: Good news, it can beat a
T95 in a drag race. Bad news, it’s too slow to be called a medium
tank. I play this tank more like a heavy support since
blitzkrieging the enemy isn’t something the T-54 first prototype
excels in. Being slow it is very difficult to flank your enemy to
get good shots on their sides without being caught first. I found
it was ok to get to decent spots, but you’ll struggle to rush the
southern hill on Karelia or the northern hill on Malinovka. I do
however like the hull traverse (42 deg/s) which has helped me point
my front end at the enemy quickly to bounce some shells and save
hit points. Survivability: Currently I’m sitting at a 69.23%
survival ratio in the T-54 fp, and my thoughts are at tier VIII
this thing is a monster, but starts to fall off hard in tier IX and
X matches. Your 120mm frontal hull armour starts to become voided
at higher tier matches and 1,300 hit points disappears fast when
you have very little to fall back on in the armour department. As
far as module damage, I haven’t noticed anything too extreme that
gets knocked out match after match just don’t give up your side
armour for free otherwise your turret will be hanging out next to
your hull. Equipment: Rammer, Vertical Stabilizer, Vents
Crew Skills: ●Commander: BiA, Sixth Sense, Repairs, Camo
●Gunner: BiA, Snap Shot, Repairs, Camo ●Driver: BiA, Smooth Ride,
Repairs, Camo ●Loader: BiA, Safe Stowage, Repairs, Camo
Pros: ●Armour in tier 8 matches ●Russian Medium crew trainer ●Makes
good credits ●Looks good Cons: ●Gun Handling ●No
Preferential Matchmaking ●Sluggish acceleration ●Low top speed
Conclusion: Would I purchase this tank? Yes, for the purpose
of crew training for three tier X Russian mediums. As far as credit
earning I found it was ok, I was making roughly 60-70k on a 2k
damage game. If one has the Obj. 907 and isn’t worried about
credits I’d elect to pass on the T-54 fp until it was in game for
gold, and I’d use tournament winnings to purchase it. Currently as
it sits I believe it needs preferential matchmaking. Seeing a tier
X match come up on the loading screen is difficult to swallow
knowing you’ll get penned almost every shot, and your ability to
output damage back when not in a flanking position is a rarity;
1,300 hit points in a tier X match disappears quickly. Having said
that, I like the ability to crew train my Russian medium crews in
tier VIII strongholds. Seeing a tier VIII random battle match is
like a dinner bell going off on your turret and hull, you get a lot
of confidence bouncing shells and being able to output good damage.
I have a feeling i’ll be putting a ton of battles on it even with
the above cons, since I did have a lot of fun just playing the tank
for what it is and challenging myself to do better each match with
it. 9.6 Live Stats: http://i.imgur.com/j7UAhHj.png

HBFT: My whole life has been leading up to the moment I get to drive the
T-54 first prototype. Hours of obsessing over blogs
presenting historical material glorifying Soviet steel. I
obliterate those lovers of fascist box tanks through sharp words
and blunt observations. Thousands of words typed in
conviction of the superiority of the proletariat machinery. I
hardened my mind, deadened my emotions, and killed my belief in God
by playing the Chi-Ri voluntarily. I have even gone beyond
mere keyboard and mouse to practice in real world tanks.
Wargaming recognizes my devotion to the cause and rewards me with
early access to the new T-54 first prototype. I will not
fail.

~HBFT OVERVIEW I previously
ran a fanatical website that later would be absorbed into the
stat-obsessed tryhards area and collaborated
with loveable but oppressionist PetCo
jerks. I've made tens of thousands in gold in contests
and clan wars. But I needed to go farther to show off my true
knowledge of tanks.
Some people complain about artillery. I went beyond complaining and drove one, placing my wife on the turret to eat a shell so I wouldn't have to waste a repair kit on the gunner. Priorities, yo. Warriors need combat. The closest thing I had available to fighting an M1-Abrams in glorious combat was... crushing a PT Cruiser. No matter! I crushed the capitalist, unholy, greed machine and cut my teeth. I am ready for combat. Wargaming gave me the call to arms to take up the banner of the T-54 lineage while I was in Bangkok, Thailand. No matter, even with my ladyboy internet I would succeed due to my preparation. Ladyboy internet is when the server is expecting a "0" and gets a "1", FYI. The following is why the T-54 first prototype is the best tank, even surpassing the vaunted Type 59. Like all true neckbeard keyboard jockeys, I will compare my completely irrelevant real world experience into the digital world. I survived the original Type 59 invasion by getting one myself. Then I could #YOLO at the enemy without regard to my well-being and collect massive winrates and credits. That's often what the T-54 first prototype feels like.
I
cuddle the glorious T-55 so much that they tell me to stop gyrating
on the equipment. I would have driven it, but it's another
$1,500 greasy American dollars to have the privilege of driving it
for 10 minutes. Soon, soon... The T-54 first prototype
has the hull of the beloved T-44, and then differs from the
namesakes of both T-54 and T-44 to create something unique.
The T-54 first prototype neither has the exceptional mobility of
the T-44 nor the exceptional everything of the T-54. Since
the T-54 first prototype leads to the perfect tier 9 tank that is
the T-54, there will be great qualities about it. The armor
is absolutely the selling point, giving incredible protection even
on the most ill-advised advances into enemy lines. The
camouflage of the Russian mediums is legendary. Sneaking past
the enemy or aiming unseen on an unsuspecting victim is standard
operation for the T-54 first prototype. FIREPOWER Reflecting
back, my real world training resembled the difficulties I faced
with the T-54 first prototype: all of the real world guns have been
purposefully ruined before selling the tanks to civilians. It
seems that a country that sees fit to have a gun for nearly every
man, woman, and child is suddenly scared at having a fully
functioning war machine. Nothing bad has ever happened when
someone takes a tank into the city.
The T-54 first prototype is
called such because the gun improvements were on the second
prototype. World destroying finery can only be mounted on a
suitable hull, so that had to come first. Also on the next
version was filling the tank with ammo, because this only holds 34
rounds. The T-54 can carry 50 pieces of ammunition while the
T-44 (which is near the exact hull design of the T-54 first
prototype) can carry a ridiculous 64 pieces of ammunition.
This creates a difficulty for red army liberators: with only 34
rounds, how much should be AP and how much should be APCR? If
you fire straight and true, probably 20/14 AP/APCR. Otherwise
17/17 AP/APCR if you waste the resources of the proletariat.
Greater ratios of AP ammo are not recommended due to reasons which
will be covered later. In combat I test the capabilities of
the T-54 first prototype. My usually accomplished, 4-skill,
T-62A gunner doesn't seem up to the task of accurately delivering
socialist armor piercing ordinance to the enemy targets. I
order that he [EDIT] BE TAKEN ON NICE VACATION TO BLACK SEA
[/EDIT]. In his place, we put my younger and excellent T-54
gunner. Sadly, he too fails and is [EDIT] SENT ON GLORIOUS
SIBERIAN RETREAT [/EDIT]. I chalk up the gun performance to
the prototype status, and the rest of my faithful gunners look
relieved. MOBILITY
Above is the British
Chieftain I drove to defeat the capitalist PT Cruiser. Did
you know that British tanks since 1945 come equipped with tea kettles?
It's the only army that requires it. Little wonder they
needed glorious Russia to help them. The tanks that I drove
in real life are sorry British impersonations of glorious Soviet
counterparts. A warrior makes due with the best they have,
even if it's tea-obsessed war machines. The Chieftain tank that I drove over the capitalist
fail-machine did an acceptable job, I suppose. It smashed
my bailout-dependent mobile conveyance to bits. I needed to
sign a salvage title to confirm that the deed was done. I
consider it a kill confirmation. Real world tea-and-biscuit
tanks did adequately prepare me for the T-54 first prototype
experience. They handle like forklifts or skid loaders,
jerking violently from side to side and lurching forward. The
T-54 first prototype jerks violently in the direction specified,
but little else. Top speed isn't necessary when you are
controlling a moving brick that is meant to impede an
advance. The speed is good enough to keep pace with the
superior T-62A for some time, but not enough to relocate across the
battlefield at short notice. Pick the area of conflict
carefully. ARMOR Soviet armor best armor. Man-boy
basement dwellers color-code performance with their "stats" and
their "XVM". Stats are lies of the elite to trick the
proletariat, but let's humor the subterranean, caffeinated, night
humans. They care about their damage stats by hiding cowardly
with artillery and sniping while the rest of us act like actual
tanks and get in there. Here's a "stat" for those
color-coders: armor efficiency. If you hover your mouse over
it on the tank statistics screen, the game will tell you how much
average damage is blocked by the tank's armor each game.
Here is the average damage
blocked by armor for my tier 8 premium tanks: KV-5 - 1,330 IS-6 -
926 112 - 934 T-54 first prototype - 695 Type 59 - 577 T-34-3 - 449
FCM - 328 T34 - 318 CDC - 53 (woo!) Soviet steel obviously
takes the top spots. It's only right. The T-54 first
prototype, while a medium, acts very much like a heavy in tier 8
games. It blocks an average of almost 700 damage per
game! Compare this to the cheese eating surrender tank that
is the AMX CDC, which happens to block less damage than my BatChat
(120 damage/game blocked).
It's time for the "get off my lawn" segment of this
article. I came up through the Type 59 swarm of World of
Tanks, the golden age of [EDIT] PERFECT BALANCE [/EDIT]. The
T-54 first prototype has better protection than the Type 59 and on
a smaller frame to boot. Since the release of the Type 59,
premium ammo for credits happened and tanks with greater
penetration values have been released. Even meeting tier 10
tanks, the T-54 first prototype manages more damage blocked per
game than the Type 59 ever did. I will grudgingly admit that
I’ve survived multiple rounds because of bounces from tier 10
tanks.
Since this is a prototype,
there is one weakness. The mantlet lets some shots through
that other tanks do not. Thankfully this is a very small
vulnerability, but be aware that the tank isn’t invincible.
Soviet Stealth Technology Silly Americans think they were clever
with the B-2 stealth bomber, but true stealth technology was
evident in the T-54 first prototype. The camouflage rating is
excellent, allowing for movement without detection for all but the
farthest viewing enemies. Maybe the tank isn’t fast, but it
creeps up on the enemy like an unwinnable Afghani war: slowly and
through harsh resistance. However, firing will still reveal your
position. Aim while unseen, fire, and retreat back into
cover. Wait for a few seconds and then move out to re-aim and
fire again. Be the invisible sniper that causes complaints of
B***S***!. Tier 10 games The T-54 first prototype lacks the
preferential matchmaking that other premium tanks enjoy. This
angers me very much: HISTORICAL ACCURACY, WARGAMING! The T-54
first would never fight these post war, blueprint-only, fiction
machines. I type furiously about how we will start a
grassroots petition against Wargaming, driving them out of business
in a month. Wait until they see the wrath I will wreak upon
them in the forums. We will rise up! My statistical records
indicate that I must have been spreading too much historical truth
in tier 10 games, as the damage dealt and damage taken are not the
stuff of legend. I blame the lack of historical accuracy for
the armor and gun underperforming there. The other players
tell me that I can't penetrate the E-100 or Maus with APCR because
the armor is too thick. I tell them that I can't penetrate
them because they are fictional tanks and don't even exist.
#ArmorHistorian Credit Earning Only capitalist scum need
credits. The T-54 first prototype relies on impenetreble
armor, hard as a Russian winter, to win games. Because of
severe historical inaccuracy, premium APCR rounds must be used when
in tier 10 games. Less credits than other premium tanks
merely reduces the capitalist greed, comrade.
I am tempted to make credits with a secret capitalist
process called "selling M60". I fight the temptation and the
capitalist greed that has taken hold of me. Crew Training
Training Soviet crews is of utmost importance, however. The
kings that are the T-62A, T-54, and Object 140 are all in need of
skilled crews for maximum efficiency. The T-54 first
prototype can accept crews from each of them without retraining.
The crew that was given with glorious T-54 first prototype
is unworthy. They are peasants who know literally 50% of what
they should know. They are given [EDIT] WONDERFUL DESK JOBS
IN KREMLIN [/EDIT] and [EDIT] ARE TOTALLY UNHARMED IN THE FACE
[/EDIT]. My other Soviet medium crews take up the superior
tier 8 Soviet equipment. Results
I include this section only because
there are people out there who cry out over LUCK numbers. My
teams let me down and I was only able to win 69% of my 72 games
played in it. My opponents must hack with their warbackpacks
or whatever. Soviet Steel should dominate regardless of
stupid hacks and historical inaccuracy, but I accept the world as
it comes to me rather than how it should be. Soviet Steel
will overcome. EPILOGUE The Type 59, the KV-5, and the
IS-6. All of these tanks were seen as game-changers.
All Soviet or Soviet-inspired. The Type 59 heralded a new era
on what a tank could achieve. The KV-5 was seen as an
underperformer until someone proved it was a beast. The IS-6
has always been a favorite. The T-54 first prototype will
follow in this glorious Soviet Steel tradition of being a stand-out
in defensive ability.

The T-54 first prototype will
follow in this glorious Soviet Steel tradition of being a stand-out
in defensive ability.

depend on a lot of factors, many of which I'm afraid can't be
controlled. if it happens, it will likely be in an unofficial
format much like the WoT Mac Wrapper. More information to come if
or when it occurs.

pergunta (sem motivo algum na verdade, estranho não? Alguém da
moderação para dizer porque?) vou perguntar aqui também:
Como ficou a formação do time, vai ser aberto inscrição? A
identidade visual do time vai mudar?
