Trevzor:     The reason there are some teams with fewer games played (which leads to other points totals) is because there are not enough teams participating to ensure a complete even distribution between all nightly groups. Some groups have 7 teams in them, others have 8. The groups with an odd number of teams in them have a bye because 7 teams can't play every round (who will play the 7th team?) This leads to some teams having less battles played in a night. Compile this over the course of 5 nights with randomly seeded teams, yes it can add up.   This is why we don't use overall point totals, but win ratios for standings. The system isn't perfect, but short of not allowing teams to play for the sake of having even groups, it's the best we can do at the time.   Good question, though

dance210: Hi!!   I do the Skirmishes and seed the playoffs the same way   The top 20% of teams go to the Alpha playoffs. The top 21 - 50% of teams go to the Bravo playoffs. The bottom 50% of teams (excluding the red teams) go to the Charlie playoffs.   Within each of those groups you are correct, teams are sorted a) by rank then b) alphabetically based on. When I make the playoffs I start seeding the teams from the top and work my way down the ranks, using S-seeding between all the playoff brackets. If I come to teams that are tied in rank, I randomly select teams within that rank. Why? Because alphabetically is a silly way to sort teams. Each team within a certain rank has an equal chance of being seeded in that playoff position, instead of team "Apple" always getting a higher seed than team "Zebra."   The weekend playoffs are done separately and aren't manually seeded; the tournament tool does that based on whatever algorithm it uses

The_Chieftain: We've been running a bit short-handed since Christmas, and are ramping back up again. It's certainly less than a week, and that's far slower than we'd like.

The_Chieftain: Just back from Australia, found out about it.   Apparently the problem wasn't the discussion of AW, it was that you guys went beyond it into territory which really does belong on the AW forum, such as the feedback analysis of the AW PvE mode, which I have to say I glossed over. I had warned you guys that there was a line between discussing the competition's product, which we'll let slide, and using our forum for making a competitor's game better by direct interaction with their staff.   This wasn't a mods issue, this was a 'people with high salaries can't look the other way any more' issue.
