1984BigBrother: I know I have a post asking if strikes should be removed. For this let's assume that Skrikes cannot be removed and will be available in all of the modes they are currently available in. Should they be rebalanced? Here are some of the suggestions I have got so far: Increase cooldown time to 3-4 minsRemove bonus you get for using Arty:reduce damage and RNG (make it cover the whole circle)add stun Air:make it a damage over time circle that makes tanks get small amounts of damage for sitting in the circleChange to scout plane from frontline Again I don't know how easy any of this would be to implement but I would like to hear your ideas

1984BigBrother: No vote on this one just looking for feedback. I think that we should open stronghold skirmishes earlier. I don't think 24/7 is the right answer maybe starting at 10 am ET with just one of the tiers. Opinions?

View PostFrozenKemp, on Oct 23 2018 - 21:13, said: Gun stuff: Just listening to a podcast and they're discussing someone on the German side in WW2 who actually complained about the MG42.  Apparently it consumed so much ammunition that for one gun you'd have the gunner, loader, and then SIX MEN who did nothing but constantly run more ammunition up to the gun!!

The_Chieftain:   It's... a known problem, and why folks who think about it will usually consider the Bren to be a better section weapon than the MG-42. In a defensive position, with stockpiled ammo, it's awesome. But for a section in attack, all that ammo has to be transported somehow, and that limits the ability of the squad to operate a bit. Further, as section machineguns are supposed to be more suppressive than killing, you just plain don't need that rate of fire.   Again, another case of people looking at paper stats, and not thinking about how well a weapon fits into the larger war.

The issue is I only have tier 6s (and that's all I really want). I remember back a long time ago I was in a clan, and we could do a mode where we fought other clans (like 6v6) in tier 6s. I was happy I could use my su100 for something finally. I'm pretty sure it was stronghold battles, but I'm not entirely sure. This was well over a year ago...   Are stronghold battles tier 6? And is there anything else besides randoms that I can play my hellcat and kv2?

Gnomon:   Hiya! I'm in the process of updating our Knowledgebase articles, but this one explains a little more about Clans and Strongholds: FAQ for WoT PC Clans   Also, here is an interactive Stronghold guide that should explain things as well: Stronghold Guide   This page explains Skirmishes for Strongholds and the vehicle Tiers per Division: Skirmishes   Hope this helps! Let me know if any clarification is needed.

Jambijon:   You are correct!  The start of the month is always the 1st!  The delay that I mentioned was caused from the majority of my team will heading to Twitch Con for an event.  The tournaments are still happening, and they are scheduled to publish on the tournaments page at least 1-2 weeks in advance so you will have plenty of time to review them.   Friday evening (10/26) at 6pm pst | 8pm Central | 9pm est all of the tournaments from November 1st to November 11th will be published and on the tournaments page. Jambijon: Hello Everyone!   Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on the updates that are being made to our Tournaments.  As most of you have noticed we've been slowly moving towards a more automated service in terms of tournaments.  We first started with prizing which shortened the crediting time to a couple hours for regular tournaments rather than the old 1-2 weeks after the tournament completion.  Also, we worked on automating group/bracket creation that failed for our first attempt but after working with our Tournament System devs we have worked out the kinks.  Below is the changes you will see for the upcoming tournaments:   Automated prizing will be faster and will credit immediately after the tournament finishes. Gold will now be split among the team depending on the amount of battles a team mate played Meaning we will have reserve players coming back and players will be awarded based on their contribution (battles played) to the team. Automating registration With this automation we are able to keep registration open until 25 minutes before the tournament starts (even on weekends) to give more time for players to sign up. Automation of grouping/bracket creation This will give us enough leeway on the complexity of the tournaments we create.  This means we have more tournaments that span multiple days, multiple stages, playoffs, rounds to final stages, etc.  It doesn't sound too exciting now but this allows us to do things that would normally require a whole team to accomplish and manage till now we can do it with just a couple of us here.   All in all, we will be able to have more tournaments with a wider variety of formats.  This is all the information I have at the moment but once I get some more updates I'll update all of you!     Also, with TwitchCon around the corner, I will be out of the office for the event and will actually take some time off after that to visit my California brethren.  If you run into any tournament issues, please follow the new CS format as I won't be able to respond to PMs for quite some time. 1984BigBrother will be around so the tournaments won't be left unattended.  For those attending twitchcon and/or our happy hour, come say hi or have a drink with me!   That's it for now! Thanks and GLHF! :playing:

DomoSapien:
Actually several of our best players started in (and some still are in) Customer Support. _Irony_, Algray_Solipso, 1984BigBrother.

Some of the great players from our old office also were in or started in Support, like Goshism and PizzaStorm.   As for 1984's level of passion: him, Irony, myself, and Goshism won a corporate WoT tournament by beating all the teams from all the NA offices a few years ago. We flew to Wargaming HQ in Cyprus to compete with the winning teams from other regions. When 1984 met Victor Kislyi, he fervently shook mr. Kislyi's hand and went on a slightly inebriated rant for several minutes about how thankful he was that Wargaming had made his favorite game of all time.

Believe it or not, your Customer Support Reps are human beings too. They may seem a bit robotic because their job requires them to be, but they're gamers looking for a way into their dream industry, just like the rest of us were.

1984BigBrother: So I have received this bit of feedback from multiple sources. A lot of clans would like to see strong skirmishes at tiers 5, 7, 9, and 10. However, I don't think it would be a good idea on our server to allow all of these at the same time. So what I would suggest to the Dev team is rotating tiers (I also must say I am not sure how easy this would be to implement). So one-week tier 6 and tier 8 are available for strongholds the next week tier 5 and 7 are available the next week 7 and 10, and so on. I don't know if a week is the right amount of time and would like your feedback on this suggestion.

DomoSapien: Tankers,
You may have noticed some changes in our Competitive Gaming teams recently. 1984BigBrother has joined us as the Competitive Gaming Manager. This is good news for you, and good news for me. As you all may know, JambiJon and I have been conducting most of the Tournament operations for WGA, starting about last June. Since then, we have seen tournament participation continue and continue to grow. We're quite proud of our community for stepping up and helping revitalize our competitive gaming scene via this overwhelming tournament participation. Seriously, you guys rock. However, with this growth there have been some growing pains. There are simply too many tournament inquiries for Jambijon and I to handle via private messages on the forums. With this in mind, Customer Support will be handling all tournament inquiries via support tickets starting on October 26th.
For Instructions on how to submit a ticket to our tournaments department in Customer Support, check out this handy guide that TheTrustedLlama wrote up. Tournament administrators will still be answering your tickets, but doing so via our ticketing system will allow us better tracking for inquiries that are on hold, in progress, resolved, etc. _____________________ This is also a good opportunity to mention something on a more personal note. I have been doing so gradually, but I should let everyone know that I am moving away from working primarily on Tournaments. (No, it has nothing to do with tournaments having technical issues lately, I'm not being forcibly removed from my position or anything like that.) I've been presented with some opportunities to work on some projects that allow me more room to utilize my creative skillset, and get experience in management and event planning: Over the last few months I have been getting involved in managing our Community Contributor program, and will be getting more involved with our CC's in the coming months. Additionally, I will be engaging more heavily in feedback reporting, as I've been playing this game for over 6 years and can definitely relate to the player perspective.
To clarify, I am not leaving the Community Team. But I'm no longer your go-to-guy for tournament inquiries. It's not you, it's me. Okay, it's also you a little bit :P there are just too many of you guys and I can't keep up with all your questions while carrying out the rest of my job functions! I'm not gone for good though. I'll periodically be checking up on tournament tickets and helping resolve your questions as my workload permits.
1984BigBrother is probably the most passionate WoT player I've ever seen. I've known him since he started when we were both in Customer Support, and I understand he's been making quite a stir in our competitive gaming scene already. Together with JambiJon, who has so valiantly been handling most of the logistics for building and running tournaments, I'm confident that you're all in good hands.
I'll still be around on the forums, and you'll still be able to catch me potato'ing up our Community Livestreams on the Wargaming Twitch Channel& World of Tanks NA Facebook page. So... y'know... don't send me angry PM's about tournaments anymore. I'll just tell you to submit a ticket <3 ;)

View Postchokeonthischarlie, on Sep 03 2018 - 22:17, said: Well thanks for the warm welcome here - Most of these forums are full of haters and wailing nerds.   Hence why ppl like me don't post - to actually help out noobs in plain english.   All you replies have it wrong...it's simple math and economics.  Or are you not able to see this?  Take your LTr and earn your way to the Tier II's...keep grinding on the Ltr, pay for all the upgrades on all the Tier II's...don't buy them yet.  Then switch to one of the Tier II's...Rinse and repeat for Tier III's...I guess my point got lost somehow - max out the next tank before you switch to it.  Patience in the short run, but in the long run you will get your Tier V's much faster and with greater success.      On the point about learning to play:  You say you want to get to Tier IV or Tier V and then just play to learn.   Yup.  And the fastest way to get the most tanks to Tier V is to level up all your Tier 1's - that are given to you at the outset for free.   On the point about crews:  The Tier I's you get at the beginning have 100% trained crews.  Keep those guys.  Move them up to your Tier II's and so on.  So...nope, crews aren't hurt - they are helped by my method.   yes...It's a bit slow no matter what you do.  But my way is faster and more economical than just ripping into the game and saying "I want to get to the Tiger or the Churchill"...and going balls out to get there.   And to the guy who said that ppl like me are the problem with the game...huh?? To get all your tanks up to Tier IV or Tier V takes time and you get to play all kinds of tanks and learn how to play them.  Your logic is messed.   I'm saying take your time...stay on Tier I...Earn your Tier II's (pay for them to become Elite's BEFORE you sell your Tier I's and actually BUY the Tier II.    AND to the posters who wanna shame me because of the stats on THIS account ....get over it.   28,000+ games on PS4.  About 11,000 on XBox,   And three PC accounts so far.  I've played this game for maybe 10 years...8?    The problem with this game is the elitist mega nerds like y'all...who waste time debating whether a gun depression of -8 or -10 is worthy of trashing a perfectly good tank...or who go on and on and on and on about how much a nerf to their favorite Tier VIII hurt their feelings.  Dudes - if you are so good, just roll with it.  These changes are made to keep the game fair and interesting.   The elitist diatribes make it hard for noobs to actually learn anything reliable - I guess it's just like the internet as a whole (#fakenews).   This is a game.   And being friendly and fun is what it should all be about.  So if you are going to weigh in - try adding some insight instead of just your biased ignorance.  Have ANY of you actually ground out an account by levelling up each Tier in order - every tank, every upgrade, every Tier?  Didn't think so.

TeriyakiTanker:  Tier I and II are a waste of time, you should get them over with as fast as possible.  Reality is the best tier to learn the game is 5, it also happens to be one of the best tiers for grinding credits without a premium tank.   Tier III isn't bad because of the protected MM now but there is no reason to stay at tier I and II any longer than you need to.  Gameplay at those two tiers specifically doesn't resemble later tiers either so what is the point?  There really isn't anything you cant do at Tier I or II that you cant do at Tier V.  Do yourself a favor and get there as soon as possible. Also on a side note you cant research Tier II vehicle components with a Tier I tank so unless you are going to spend money on converting your experience from that Tier I to free exp there really is no point in doing what you are describing.  And yes I have gone from Tier I to Tier X in a lot more lines than you have so I do at least have some idea what I am talking about!

1984BigBrother: As stated in the previous post we have created this new section of the forums to better gather initial feedback for the Development and Production teams and better understand the player feelings about the Competitive aspects of the game.   This will be a tempory section (probably a month or so) Right now there are two subsections that have been added to Operation Feedback. Tournaments and StrongHold this are the 2 area's that I feel are a good place to start I will look at adding more each week.     How will this will work  I will be creating posts for each of the current sections based on the feedback I received during the first meetings I had. You can all leave comments (and vote if applicable) on those.   If you would like to get something added to one of the subsections in Operation Feedback create a post in the Clan Forums wait for it to get some feedback. Then I will create a post in this section for each of the subsections link any post that you would like added in the correct subsection post.   Moderation I will be personally moderating this section on top of the current moderation staff and removing posts that are irrelevant, off-topic, or confrontational. These out of policy moderations will not make your accounts receive strikes unless you need to be excessively moderated by me (before I do this I will PM you and your clan commander trying to correct the behavior).     I do not want these to be an argument (there are plenty of sections for you to argue in currently), So please no "counterpoints", just state your opinion and upvote, you probably don't need to post more than once per topic.
