pizzastorm:
Our servers
will be down from approximately 1:15am - 7:15am
PST on 12/22/2014. There will be in game reminders
starting two hours before the servers shut off. Now on to
the cool stuff! Here is a little overview of some of the new
content and features arriving in 9.5! My favorite addition
to the game comes in the form of minimap improvements -
Vehicle Labels - Vehicles names, enemy and allied, now
display on your minimap! Minimap
Why is this important?
You can now tell which tank was spotted. Is the
auto-loading TD on the other side of the map? Now you can push with
confidence. Have all their top tier tanks pushed one way? Turn
around to help your team defend. Use this new wealth of
information to better plan your attack and defense strategies and
have a more complete picture of the flow of every battle.
Last Known Location - The minimap now shows the last
known location of an enemy that has been spotted and disappears!
Minimap
This feature is
another game changer as it will keep you updated with a general
location on where all enemy tanks are situated. I find
this especially useful in the mid/late portions of a battle where
you need to move across large portions of the map to find and
finish off the enemy. Last known
locations are shown as faded circles, along with the tank type. The
E-100 and T110E3 in the picture above were spotted previously but
are now hidden. Camera Direction Beam - This line
extends from your vehicle across the map to better show where you
camera is pointed. Enterprising individuals may be
able to use this line in conjunction with last known positions or
spotted tanks outside of their view range to take blind shots.
"Sector of Fire" Display for Artillery - Artillery now
has the cone which shows the area of traverse.
An important note: These will not be set on with default settings.
Please enter your settings menu and select the "Enable Expanded
Minimap Features" drop-down menu shown below if you wish to
take advantage of these new additions.
New British tanks are arriving! Instead of
listing them here I will point you to this article which lists them
all with pretty pictures. http://worldoftanks.com/en/news/pc-browser/17/update-95/
Below is a look at the new tech tree. For those of
you grinding the Valentine and hoping to go to jump to the
Churchill I, please note that NOW would be the time to do
this since they will no longer be connected once the update goes
live. Tech Tree
New maps and map
variation are also on the way. (Forgive my poor camera skills)
Mittengard - This map is for lower tiers and features
two hills as spawn points with a ruined city in the valley.
Ghost Town - This map is for team battles only
and features a completely symmetrical battlefield to fight it out
on. Winterburg - The winter version
of Ruinberg will replace Ruinberg on Fire in the map rotation.
