There are no extra specials because this is for the Tech Tree Focus, which only discounts the credits for the given tanks. The weekend events give the credit boosts, x5 XP for first victory, equipment discounts, etc.

nation that will be discounted each week. If you are thinking of
purchasing a Soviet medium, and the upcoming week is for Soviet
tanks, then waiting to purchase it after you find out what tanks
will be part of the focus is a good idea. Otherwise, you take the
risk that the tank you want could be on sale right after you
purchased it.
You could also try searching past tech trees to see what tank lines had been on sale, guessing that they would put something different for the upcoming focus. This, however, could be a faulty assumption.
