Heavy Destruction Weekend

View PostSgt_Pork, on Jan 14 2013 - 23:37, said: 1) I want them to stop insulting us with all of these obvious and transparent lies they keep throwing at us as part of their floundering weak-ass attempt to cover their butts by erasing the true record. It is undignified, unworthy, and just plain bad business to treat your customers this way, and they are not fooling anyone.

dance210: You are assuming they are trying to erase any record. Is it so unreasonable to expect that when an error is found, all news related to the event would be changed to reflect the true information? WG staff has admitted, multiple times in multiple places, including the millions of support tickets, that an error occurred. I don't believe admitting a mistake is part of a cover up plot....but I could be wrong.

Quote 2) A straight forward admission that shows they understand exactly how they screwed this one up (Tiger P, wrong end time, and the dishonest cover-up attempts) along with a statement that the manager responsible for this customer relations fiasco has been sacked.

dance210: Please read through the thread. Admissions have been made. I find it sad that you think that a mistake should result in the termination of an employee. Perhaps you are used to a no tolerance policty, but some of us are tolerant of mistakes and believe that they can be learned from.

Quote 3) An assurance from WG that if a goof up like this should ever occur again they will deal with it in a transparent, forthright and honest way to insure that the mistake is corrected and the players (their customers) are made whole.

dance210: If someone were to believe that there was a coverup and lies, then I can see your point. However, from everything I have seen, WG has been as transparent as they need to be. They have apologize, admitted the mistake, taken care of the TigerP fiasco at the beginning, and most of what happned this weekend seem to be on the SuperBrawl weekend, if I remember correctly. The exception being the tanks, which will most likely be on sale/have a discount and some point in the future.

Quote 4) Last but not least, WG should make whole those who were adversely impacted by this screw up, WG should immediately reinstate the discounts and specials of the Heavy Destruction Weekend for at least 24 hours, or better still 48 hours so that those who were grinding in anticipation of taking advantage of the specials only to be thwarted by the early and unannounced termination of the promotion can do so.
These are all reasonable things to request and indeed expect from WG.  I can only conclude from your exhortation to "Get over it" that you are used to being treated like dirt on a regular basis, and I confess that must be very sad for you.  Be that as it may, it may surprise you to learn that many of us, indeed most probably a substantial majority, have a higher standard of ethical expectations from the companies we do business with then the one you you seem so resigned to accept.

dance210: See above. Most of the items will be coming up soon (the x2 crew will actually be x3). Just because they are not repeating the event does not mean that they aren't trying to "make the players whole."
No, that is not the only conclusion you could make. If you failed to notice, the last two sentences of my post really had nothing to do with the quoted post. You could have also conclude that I was aggravated and upset by the amount of complaining and calls for WG to respond when they had already done so and expressed that feeling. Instead, you chooose to make false assumptions about my life and what I would/would not stand for, based on three little words. And frankly, it's a bit insulting.
