churchill50: At tier 6 and 8 crew skills/field mods don't really matter
all that much. It helps if you're playing the T-34-85M since
you're kind of expected to have a good Soviet medium tank crew for
the Obj 907. But if you don't yet, then that's not really
important. At tier 10, 3-4 crew skills will cover all the
important ones on most tanks. Of course, if you have better crews
than that, it's always better.On tanks like the Manticore and EBR
105, you're expected to have very specialized crews since those
tanks need 6-7 skill crews to get all the important
skills/perks. For Field Mods, they definitely help. But
they're not gamechangers most of the time. So get them if you have
time, but if you don't have them then don't worry too
much. Also be aware that in Clan Wars on some tanks you'll
have different equipment loadouts than in Random Battles. The dual
equipment loadouts in Field Mods really help with this.For
instance, in Random Battles I run Turbo, V-Stab, Rammer on the Obj
277. In Clan Wars you want to be running Hardening, Turbo, Rammer.
Same situation for the Chieftain on some maps.Hardening especially
is really important in Clan Wars. One tank having an extra 200-300
HP doesn't make too much of a difference. But when your entire
brawling force has 200-300 extra HP per tank, that makes a massive
difference. For map blocking. I wouldn't say it matters too
much.The map rotation for Clan Wars Campaigns/Seasons changes
semi-frequently anyways.Plus the ways you play maps differs so
widely between Random Battles and Clan Wars that not having
experience on a map won't affect you too much in CW.
