TragicLoss: Will do. I will edit this post when I have my bit ready for you to
add in. Edited: Red - Spaced armor Blue - Shoot
here Yellow - Shoot to destroy tracks Spaced armor is found
on all tanks in the form of tracks (the yellow area only) or a
mantlet. These areas have two layers of armor while require a shell
to pass through both to do damage. If you shoot at the yellow area,
this will destroy the tracks, and if your gun has enough
penetration, may damage the tank. For tanks such as the T28E6 Super
Pershing, the spaced armor is located at the front and partially
covers the sides of the turret as pictured here:
In order to penetrate something
like the Super Pershing you must aim for the usual lower glacis,
the "underbelly", or the area just above the spaced armor where the
commander's hatch is located.
Other examples of spaced
armor on tanks the Pz. IV:
TL;DR: Don't
shoot the red areas, shoot the blue areas for damage, and the
yellow to destroy the tank's tracks.
