Personal wealth, $43million.   Congressmen get paid, what, $175k/year? That's some damned good investments to make that kind of worth. OK, DiFi got her money the old fashioned way, she married into it. Newsom, he's basically bankrolled by Gordon Getty.  Either way, I am not fortunate enough to have a net worth in the 8-figure dollar bracket like those folks. My net worth is in the low 6-figure bracket only because of 401k savings and the fact that house prices in San Francisco have been stupidly increasing the past few years.  I suspect, even though I am not in their position, that yes, they are a little out of touch with our problems. I commuted in traffic 90-minutes each way, a not a-typical commute in my neck of the woods. Di-Fi has a driver, and Congressmen have special privileges that they don't have to wait like us mere mortals at things like TSA lines at the airport.    This is not to begrudge them their success. They're rich, good for them. But that doesn't mean to say that they cannot be out of touch with the common citizenry at the same time. Their lives decades ago were.. well... decades ago.
