They aren't the highest DPM but they hit reasonably hard and by using an angled grip and muzzle mod with a stability primary you can pretty much keep it on target without the gun jumping all over the place. The absolutely best in slot AR is the LVOA-C. LVOA-Cs take A LOT of work to make them work, but when they do they are broken levels of nasty. The LVOA-C wins because it only has vertical recoil as compared to the M4 even though they are identical archetypes. M4s have horizontal recoil as well so they are VERY hard to keep on target.   As far as Semi-Auto Marksman Rifles go, the key to making one work is to max out the accuracy bar and combine it with the quick aim (edit: Balanced) perk on the gun. You can just dump rounds into center mass like you wouldn't believe. That is the combo to overcoming the erratic gun handling many of them seem to have. According to the articles I've read the best in slot Semi-Autos are the SCAR-H for PvE and the best for PvP is the SVD. M44 Customs are the best in slot bolt action Marksman Rifles though. They have higher base alpha and a higher base head shot damage modifier. M44 Customs can pretty much two head shot most elites. If I actually cared to PvP and built accordingly M44 Customs are capable of single head shot kills of players in PvP. On a personal level I find the M700 rifles to have really wonky handling compared to the M44.   (edit: IMHO I would say the "God Roll" for a Marksman Rifle would be Accurate, Balanced, and either Brutal (more head shot damage) or Deadly (higher magnitude crits) depending on your build. )   LMG wise the best in slot is the Pakhan or the Hungry Hog depending on who you ask. Pakhan wins on ease of acquisition though in my opinion.

The_Chieftain:   Sometimes I have to check to make sure you're talking game and not real life. I just bought an AK-74, I pick up my Tavor over the weekend.
