given how the IS-3 tends to be the tank of choice in competition, I
think could incentivise taking other vehicles instead. I doubt this
was a criterion in their thinking, but I like the thought at first
blush. I have no issues at all with your last sentence. In this
particular circumstance, it happened that the bug simply reinforced
an incorrect extrapolation. The player reaction was quite
reasonable from their perspective as a result.
