The_Chieftain: Hmm... For a late-model M4A1, it would have the steeper front slope. I've no idea where my M4A1 model is right now. I've never thought about it before, but I guess it's possible that there would be a 'kink'. Is there a different transmission housing for late-model vehicles? Could you put an early, more slanted housing on a late model vehicle?   I must look into this.
