Beware the Ides of T110.

The_Chieftain:   We were debating that in the office. The conclusion was that they couldn't leave the series on the bad note of 4 and had to redeem itself. The other argument was "Don't risk another bad one, just let the series die"   As for the Russian pull-out, has anyone said anything about how much of a pull-out there is? As I understand it, they're keeping their naval and air facilities there open and not giving those up. Allows for a quick reversal as well as long-term strategic options.   Article going around the US military community a couple of weeks ago puts the relative Russian success rather well. https://www.traditio...what-we-cannot/   It points out that the Russians have two major advantages. Firstly, they are supporting an established state government. Secondly, "Russia doesn’t care much about civilian casualties....International opinion, of course, is howling about Russian aircraft pouring it on. Washington would be paralyzed by such howls. Moscow, run by realists, doesn’t give two kopeks for them. How many divisions has “international opinion”?"
