The_Chieftain:   Yes and no. By the time you start getting to 30kt battleships up around Tier 6 or 7, you actually can run down destroyers. It's because destroyers almost never seem to run away in a straight line, they're always zigzgging more than the BBs, usually to try to get a torp salvo off. As long as the BBs zig or zag enough to throw off a torpedo salvo, they can usually catch up with them.   Of course, if that's a good waste of the BB drivers time is another question entirely.
