The_Chieftain:   Back when they were developing the "Combat Action Badge", which is a bayonet and a grenade on a wreath (And was goiing to be called the Close Combat Badge), someone pointed out that the German Army of WW2 had the Close Combat Clasp, and the General Assault Badge, which both used the premise of a wreath, bayonet and grenade. So they generally just changed the name. No big deal.
