T110's Zen-like Inner Core.

View PostEmpressNero, on Sep 16 2015 - 21:16, said:   I hate to break it to you and everyone else in the thread, but The_Chieftain isn't the same person he was back in the original T110 thread.  He has been fully assimilated by Wargaming.  Yes, he cared about us in the first thread.  He probably even cared a bit in the second thread.  But this thread?  He doesn't care.  When's the last time he's told us what's going on with his book?  When's the last time he just popped in to say hi?  He's never around except when the thread blows up.  And now he's basically demanding that Life_in_Black prove that unicorns don't exist before he'll make any noise about the Cummins diesel.  Same with the T110e5's cupola.  I remember when he would go to bat for us on the T110's hull shape.  But these days, nope.  Gotta prove a negative before he'll do anything.

The_Chieftain:   Seriously? Fine. You want to know why I haven't posted anything about my book? Because nothing has happened with my book. Zip. Nada. I haven't had the time to do squat with it. Not because I don't care to tell you, but because I am a divorced dad trying to hold down a relationship by not making the same mistakes as before (which had my job and pastimes before my then-wife), a job which, while I enjoy it, sucks up my time, in a city with ridiculous traffic patterns, and, oh yeah, I have military obligations. Last weekend I was away with the Army. Which was a five-hour drive each direction, with about two hours of 'awake' time for the GF after I got back. Part of which was spend doing house chores. The workweek prior, I've been commuting two hours each way, working offsite filming. Weekend prior, I was in New Jersey. Week prior to that, catching up on the backlog after PAX, which itself sucked up four days including the weekend prior. Oh, and to get to PAX, I had to detour for a day in Minneapolis, meaning I only had a short workweek to get everything done I had to. I get my first weekend with my daughter since late July this weekend, so I'm not going to be here then either. Today I lost an hour and a half at the VW dealer because they forgot to order the key I was supposed to have programmed yesterday when I lost another hour and a half going to and from said dealer yesterday for servicing. And I have to get out of here by 4:15 or so in order to make sure I'm home by 5:30 so I can spend my one weekday evening with my daughter. Which means my time available in the office today is limited. I have to take Friday off simply because I've had so little time to do anything that I have a crapload of house maintenance I need to do, from raking up leaves to repairing a car. A day off to rake leaves. Can you believe that? I'm even seeing a psychotherapist, which sucks up half my Thursday afternoons. So, no. I'm not going to spend my limited time jumping up and down in front of Minsk saying "This is wrong" when I cannot simply show them "Look. This is the evidence that it's a Continental under that engine deck." I've let them know it's an open question, and that's as far as I'll take the time to go.   And as for volume 1, that publication is pending the outcome of the success of the Hunnicutt book, itself dependent on the lawyers, who are currently fighting it out because there is no agreement as to who is licensing to whom. I was unaware of my reporting requirements to this thread, but now you know.   This is what my life is like. This is why I have not been producing my Hatch articles like I used to, this is why there was nearly a week between when I last posted on this thread, even to "say hi" and was able to spend some time on it now. Itself questionable since I still have craploads of things to do instead of respond to this topic. In the last five days, according to my app, I've played exactly 21 games of WoT. 19 of which were on the stream. So if I'm not hanging around here as often as you would like, it's not much skin off my nose right now to simply close this thread down and deal with any number of significantly more pressing issues I have. And believe me, I have pressing issues. More so than I had two years ago.   However, I am not about to do that.  As long as I can at least keep popping by in order to try to keep the thread operating, I'll do so.
