Historical question: kind of game related

The_Chieftain: Gun stabilisation in the 1940s very primitive, especially during the war. Indeed, a true 'fire-on-the-move' capability never really came about until the late 1970s.    I go into a bit more depth here: http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/topic/282513-detail-page-stabilisation-systems/   But the bottom lines are that WW2 stabilisers were really more for getting a fast shot off at the short halt than they were for actually hitting things on the move. Of course, there's nothing wrong with shooting on the move if you're going more for a suppressive effect, which was not uncommon.
