This allows you to either disengage, flank, or a combination
thereof. With arty, and the invisibility that I've mentioned
earlier, there is no disengaging, there is no flanking arty's cone
of influence. There is no way to know where arty is directed,
so most people will assume it's directed at them. So even
though a single arty's actual influence may be limited, its
potential influence, on many maps, is near infinite, so gameplay is
negatively affected. This becomes exponentially worse the
more arty there are per side. Can it be dealt with?
Sure. Is it fun to deal with? Well, that's going to
vary person to person, but I'd sure vote no. Every other
class is enjoyable to engage. Sure there are specific
examples in many classes that are poorly implemented, but overall
as a class arty is the only one that consistently makes the game
less fun, for me anywayThe_Chieftain: A reasonable post, and I respect the opinion. If it were not
a team game, I would agree with yor more. But this is a team game,
and I submit that you cannot let a single enemy (or a minority of
the enemy, at least) paralyse your team because the
individuals in your team are thinking about the effects on
themselves, the individual, and not the effects on them, the team.
Is it fun... well, I think it is. Whether you realise it or not,
most all your actions in a game of WoT are informed by what your
teammates are doing. If you're playing as an individual, I can
certainly understand the objection.
