The Chieftain's Hatch: Fury's Tiger Standoff

View PostStg_Lowery, on Oct 01 2014 - 06:10, said: Sorry but a Tiger I vs Sherman is no contest. Tiger I wins regardless if the Sherman has a 75 or 76 on it. The hitting power of the 88L56 will pen the Sherman frontal armor at over 2000m and there is a weapons test from 1943/44 that shows that. The 76 mm was a late 44 upgrade that the British gave to the US. The British Firefly was the Brits answer to the under gunned Sherman. And the pacing much credit on a Sherman hitting a target 2000m away is placing a lot on a bad hand. American optics were not that good. And the Hot AT round was in short supplies as it did even go into production until mid late 44,After the weapons test of 43/44 showed that almost every gun in the British and USA arsenal came up short when trying to pen a Tiger I frontal armor and sides at any distance over 500m. So Tiger I vs Sherman with 76mm Tiger wins

The_Chieftain:   Did you even read my articles?   You're also apparently confusing the source of the 76mm with that of the 57mm, the latter of which actually was British.
