The_Chieftain:   yes, I understand that those were the Soviet objections. (I did read it, you know), but the British seemed to think the A4 was the best of the lot. Indeed, there is a letter in the Bovington archives which laments that "their old friend" was going out of production, and that future Sherman deliveries would be of a different type.
